"FORWARD INTO GLORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" the adamant-clad Paladin yelled, pushing his troops forward into the onslaught of bones and axes.
Cloud watched a hundred thousand adventurers armed to the teeth rush an undead giant as he strapped on his gold-trimmed armor. The camp was filled with the sounds of clanking armor and horses' bits being secured; Cloud was eager to join the commotion. This was his first time fighting in a war as large as this one.
"Easy there, girl," he softly said as his horse tromped around his campfire.
"We'll be busting bones in no time. Let me get this sword strapped on."
He secured the bridal, the saddle, the bits, the shoes, and all the straps. He was ready to ride.

"G'YUP, HYA! HYA!"
He urged the beautiful white mare into a steady gallop, swiping the heads off of skeletons as he passed by the ones that had somehow got past the Guardian's front lines. Cloud was assigned to help push the front lines forward. In the past few hours the undead and entropic elementals had gained far too much land in the past few hours. The heroes intended to take it back.
"Captain Hawkeye!"
"It is good to see you, Cloud! The fight here is fierce, and we are holding our position, but we must take back that hill."
The guardian captain motioned a pair of fingers towards a fair sized hill which the Undead now had control of. A pair of undead grunts hoisted up a flag with a strange, horned creature's head on it, with a crimson red background. The golden Guardian flag was ripped and shredded, but a soldier had managed to salvage it.
"You take Milly and Ruker here with Squad A 'round the west ridge,"
the captain said as he pointed to the two rangers and a handful of soldiers;
".. and I'll take Squad B 'round the east. We'll close in on 'em with a pincer movement. Those boneheads won't know what hit them!"
As they planned, the warmongers were already jumping over them and charging headfirst into the fray - "
" - it looks like they're ten steps ahead of us, Cloud. Let's give them a hand!"
Milly and Ruker were the first two to jump out of the trench. The pair of elves were two of the greatest Rangers Cloud had ever seen, and he envied them in their ability to pick a toothpick off of a post fifty yards away.
Cloud mounted Leia and charged out of the trench, sword in hand, following the path of broken skeletons and charred dirt left by the group of five warmongers.

Five undead giants with skeleton archers mounted on the shoulders blundered towards the lines of heroes. The warmongers immediately targeted them with their swords, fireballs and bows. Ruker and Milly were focused on a group of Bonefires, and Captain Hawkeye and his team were nowhere to be seen. Cloud was alone amidst a wave of oncoming undead.

Suddenly, something upset Leia, as she lifted up her hindlegs, neighing wildly. She almost bucked Cloud off. The soldiers on the field stood silent.

"Easy, girl, easy! EASY, W- WHOA!"

One minute, there were five giants, the next, there was one colossal, stomping, shouting mixture of bones and swords. A necromancer on the field of battle had transformed the downed giants into one huge beast! Every step it took sent an earthshaking shockwave through the field of battle and the town of Falconreach itself. It startled Leia so suddenly that she threw Cloud off, and galloped back to the camp. He wasn't worried about Leia, but the giant, rigid foot of the colossal skeleton that was about to crush Cloud's head inwards from 50 different directions.

"AAAAIIEEEEEEEEEE - "

"EEEEEEEEEEE - WHOA!"

A flash of purple and brown streaked across the valley, darting under the giant bony foot and rescuing Cloud! The giant's step scathed nobody.
"Who are you?" asked the bewildered Cloud.
A woman's voice came from behind the purple Dragonlord helmet.
"Shut up and help kill that thing, this is no time to ask questions!" she yelled, twirling a metallic purple lance above her head.
"Right!"
The hero leaped off of the back of the horse, landing with a barrel roll. The giant was lumbering forward, feet infront of him. He could see tiny specks climbing up its leg. It was the Warmongers!
The purple-armored woman did the same, stabbing her lance into the giant's bone leg to gain leverage. Her horse whirled around and galloped back to camp, charging headfirst into a wave of undead, shaking them off.
Cloud punched down a nearby skeleton infantry, stealing his spear. There were now more heroes climbing onto the giant. He ran forward, spear over his shoulder, and plunged it into the ground while swinging on the handle, using it as a pole-vault. A silver dagger dug into the mountainous leg when he got close enough. The other heroes were getting closer to the legs. He knew what their plan was. Cloud wrestled to catch up.

A scream from the other leg! A guardian had been knocked off by something! Medics rushed over to help him. He looked alright.
Something picked at Cloud's heel. His head whirled around. An entropic soldier was climbing up aswell, chasing the heroes! He kicked its head, but it swiftly dodged. It looked like the warmongers had got up to the hips, but some were struggling. He slid down quite a bit, landing on the entropic soldier's head, and swung his legs back and into its torso. It dropped, but others were swiftly following. Cloud unsheathed another dagger and kept working his way up harder than before. His legs had an immense burning pain but he fought mind and body to keep climbing. He got a handhold on the giant hip. The soldiers were gaining on him. He swinged up to his feet; now he could see what the Warmongers were doing. He threw down the daggers at the soldiers and took out his trusted Mindtwist Scythe, and began hacking at the top of the legs.

The whole giant's body shook violently! Chips of bone were flying everywhere, plinking off the hard armor of entropic soldiers and heroes alike. The ground itself rumbled, and both sides fell, balance lost. The enormous body was falling - but in the wrong direction! A shadow cast over the heroes on the front; it was about to crush them!

Cloud ran up the head and plunged headfirst off of the giant's helmet, skydiving without a parachute. He whistled loudly, a whistle that sounded like a signal for somebody - or something. A roar muted the sounds of the rumbling and the clashing of metal and the explosions of sponges, not the roar of a bloodthirsty skeletal giant, but a great, heroic roar, that would strike fear into the hearts of evil.

Cloud's giant dragon, Rex, appeared from behind Falconreach. He flew towards the battlefield swiftly, but Cloud still fell. The dragon flew faster, but so did Cloud. WHIZZ! The hero's head dizzied as he was picked up by his blue friend, Rex.
"We've got to stop that giant, boy! Give him all you've got!"
The colossal beast roared fiercely in response, firing a wave of light flame from his mouth, engulfing the falling body and causing several undead to shatter. The mass of bones was just feet above the hero's heads, but it gained distance as the wave of flame pushed it back.

Rex exhausted, the flame wave grew dim. The good dragon breathed heavily. The mass of bones teetered and tottered left and right, trying to decide which faction it wanted to decimate. The heart of soldiers on the ground beat at mach speeds. Would the flame be enough? Would the wind send it one way or another? How many would be killed?

Thousands of tons of bone crushed into yet more bone as the lifeless skeletal giant crushed through the front lines of the undead forces. Loud shouts of heroes and guardians were just barely enough to sound out over the crushing, crackling noises. A bone from the beasts leg fell and pierced through the banner of Doom, sending shreds of it floating in the wind. The guardian's bannerboy sprinted over the gigantic body to the top of the hill, tripping over mangled entropic armor and bones, and shoved the tattered flag into the ground. The clean gold colors of the Guardian banner could be seen as the dust and smoke cleared. Even so, with this brief victory, thousands more undead flooded the valley below. The warmongers were the first to recover from the climbing assault and rushed to the top of the hill. Then, suddenly, and frightfully, Captain Hawkeye's voice reached the ears of every hero on the field.

Cloud's neck whirled around. From atop Rex, he had a clear view of what happened.

Sepulchure's flying fortress crashed into the Guardian Tower.

-----------------------------------------------

May 22nd, 10 hours after the heroes' ground confrontation with Sepulchure

Cloud trudged out from under the comfort of Rex's right wing back to the camp. Captain Hawkeye had woken him up to tell him that he had been picked for the midnight raid team. He groaned and rolled around before finally getting to his senses. Atleast he would be able to meet some new people. The raid team was usually filled with people that were able to endure long hours of slaying and endless waves; Cloud was not one of those people. His team consisted of ten people - himself, Raven, the lady warmonger who had saved him from the giant; L and D, twin brothers; Boomer, a pirate from Rhubarb's crew in Opsrey Cove; Blackmoon, a mute rogue; Arlington, a powerful soulweaver; and Oddball, a Warrior whom Cloud had seen much of in the Ravenloss War.

All of the powerhouses looked relatively ready to fight, except for Boomer, who kept taking sips of grog to whet his thirst, and of course Cloud, who lazily strapped on his mana gauntlet to his wrist and Celtic Rainbow to his back.
"You all need to wake up, the night is young. The undead wait for nobody," warned L, the paladin brother.
"Nawww, bruth, we can take a while to sit back, relax - " the Deathknight's banter was cut short by Raven.
"None of that! L is right, you all need to hasten up."
"Roight, mate, I'm ready." answered Boomer readily. The young pirate looked more like a human gatlinggun than anything, with a brace of atleast 20 pistols strapped across his chest and 5 more at his waist. On top of that, he was equipped with a pirate's cutlass. Cloud stood up, his mana gauntlet tightly locked onto his wrist and his various daggers and blades.
"I'm ready, too."
Without any warning, Blackmoon charged out of the camp at lightning speeds. The others paced to a sprint to keep up. All of the horses were either resting or sleeping, so all of the heroes had to fight on foot. Cloud had gone through five pairs of boots during the daytime due to the heavy mud, and thought he'd go through thrice that during this raid.

The team reached the hill, and examining the valley, saw a group of guardians at the frontlines struggling to hold back a wave of Bone Fires.
"Well, my chaps, let's not just stand our feet here plainly, let's go help those chaps!" Arlington exclaimed, leaping off of the hill into the frontline trench. Raven followed, and the others aswell. Cloud walked up to Captain Hawkeye in the trench, whose face and armor were caked with mud and scratches.
"Captain, we'll take over from here."
"Thank the maker! Company B, back to camp! BACK TO CAMP!"
Cloud didn't want to tell Hawkeye that. He squinted as five Bonefires shot a wave of twenty fireballs at the team; the only source of light on the gloomy battlefield.

Boomer and Arlington climbed out of the trench and charged; Boomer covering Arlington's assault with pistolfire as Arlington's spiritlooms glowed bright white, sending a wave of pure energy at the fire-throwers. It wiped them out.
Cloud, Oddball, Raven and L and D and Blackmoon leaped out of the trench into a crowd of skeletons, the warriors beheading two or three as they landed feetfirst.
"ATTACK!" yelled Raven, clearing out ten skeletons with a single 360 spin of her scythe.
Boomer hid away his used pistols and grabbed a bottle of grog, taking a drink from it. It dropped onto the ground as Arlington whizzed past to help the other heroes.
"OI, LOOK WHAT YE DONE NOW, YE BLUNDERIN' - "
Boomer's banter was cut short by an order from Cloud. He pulled out his cutlass and joined the fray.

Metal and bone bits flew everywhere, clanking and clinking off of the heroes' armor. Blackmoon took on five enemies silently by himself, while Cloud and Oddball dueled an entropic soldier together. Boomer and L and D were covering the fighters with pistolfire and light and darkness shards, which barely kept the charging undead from getting any closer. Arlington cleared out a single wave of 20 by raining down white light from the sky.

It was all going just splendid.

Somewhere, up in the sky, above the sponge-dropping dragons, above Sepulchure and Fluffy himself, someone - or something - watched the fight from afar, glowing red eyes displaying every ounce of interest possible in the bloodshed.

"Finally, the fool has done something right for a change. But.. he.. even like the heroes themselves.. will ..

FALL!!!

BAAAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
