It seems as if mods in the ED forums are starting to crack down and enforce rules, but some aspects of the AE forums seems impractical.

For example, the enforcement of not double posting. Not being able to post twice on the same thread does not seem to make sense. When one edits a post--unless it is the original post or one of the latest--other people won't read it because it is in the middle of a ton of discussion. Plus, if the thread has been pushed back, and it is just edited, then the thread will not move up; therefore, nobody will pay attention to it since it is on the second, third, or fourth, etc page.

So I am wondering whether anybody reads edited posts/threads that are packed in the middle of a discussion and not brought onto the latest page. I think most people look only at the first and latest few threads. Nobody is going to look at an edited post #63 when there are 243 posts total in a thread. Am I wrong?

If this is true, then when somebody edits a post, it should be marked as the latest post and be positioned as the latest post.

------------
BTW, a forum moderator deleted this post when it was in a general discussion section and told me to post it here. But, after zooming out from this thread, I realized there was a Forum Suggestion section. Should this not fit better in there? Just something I want to get out in case another mod feels inclined to criticize me for posting in the wrong section.

Inconceivable!

I think you might be misunderstanding what double posting is. If your post is the last one in a thread and you post again before anyone else that is considered double posting, not just posting twice in one thread. In your example, if your post was #63 and there were several hundred posts after yours, you are allowed to post again. In fact as soon as you someone posts after you, you can make another post.

As for the "one post per thread" rule in the EpicDuel Suggestions forum you were referring to - that rule was actually removed. You can now post as many time as you wish in each suggestion thread.

Only mods and AKs have ability to make edits "bump" threads because it could very easily be abused to keep threads on the front page when they have actually died out. We don't allow normal bumping for the same reason. If a thread dies because there's a lack of discussion then trying to keep it alive through bumps only creates spam.

All right, now I understand. I would appreciate if you lock this thread and the thread I posted in the AE Forums suggestions forum.

Locked. Moved to Forum Suggestions for neatness. ~Stray Cat

And threads merged for further neatness. Thanks to those responding! :) ~Everest

There is no rule against posting more than once in a thread... You're probably misunderstanding.

It is a rule that you shouldn't double-post i.e. you shouldn't post two posts consecutively.
You can post in a thread many times you want but shouldn't post twice . For example, you posted #63, then you shouldnt post #64. But can post any other, like #72.

Hope its clear,
#13
