Before ( I think year 2009? ) Titan make Videos about new OR incoming release. I loved it so much and I was wondering if you like it too!

Do think it makes Epic Duel Fun, since someone is not just telling you what to do, but show you HOW to do it! :D

In this thread you'll say if you loved it, or hate it, Or if it should come back :D

yup i liked it.
it was better IMO when he showed us the whole release and how to play it (like enhancements)

Part of the reason why we have strayed away from videos more recently is because first you need to make the video, edit it, export it and then upload it which sometimes can take awhile for youtube to approve it to go live. That's not to say new video's wont ever happen again, its just really time consuming. I would just like the players to be aware of this. Its not that we dont like them or were not caring enough to do them, just in more recent times they just haven't been practical.

what if u get a small crew(1-3) of volunteers (our own players) to edit the videos and stuff. then u simply upload it to youtube.
of course these volunteers would have to be qualified.
then u dont have to worry about video editing.
u just simply shoot the video, send it to the video editer then when its done, let the video editor send it back to u and then u upload it to youtube. or it they could upload it themselves into a different account and then u embed the video they posted up into the design notes.
shouldn't be too hard for the qualified volunteers.

Still have to take time to train these volunteers, which can sometimes take up more of our time. Similar example would be me slowly but surely learning and doing all of the what's new promo content that comes up in the game. Before I trotted along, Titan did most of those. However that took up half if not most of his day also trying to prep for a release. I'm getting better at them for sure but I still have to double check my work with Titan making sure all the information is accurate. As you know one tiny slip up in spelling or a feature just slightly miss phrased can cause troll city havoc on the forums. What we really need is to clone Titan. :D

then why not make 1 sample video and let those who want to volunteer edit it and post their edited version here on the forums to see which one fits ur liking and style and who u think is qualified.
this will let u decide which candidates u want to pick.
and there really wouldn't be any info slip up since titan is giving us all of the info in the video.
im sure some of the volunteers will make the video look as much as possible to the old ones.
then all u have to do is aprove of the video (should take no more than 20 minutes to watch and review the video and let the editor if anything is missing) and if anything is missing or if something needs to be added then let the editor know. this of course means the the video will have to be sent to the editor ahead of time so that he can edit it, send it to titan, let titan check it so see if its fine. and if its fine then cindy can post it on the design notes.

Could be a possibility for our testing group since they have access to all the pre-release stuff if they were willing to. But again we would still have to train them, and despite how easy you make it sound it would still take up a lot of our time to do so. Currently the testing group is being trained in other more precedent content. And going back to my example... Titan gives me all the information I need in a text document... but I still have to get him to check and re-check my work. I've been doing this for a few months now where I can fill and read between the lines better which has made the whole process faster. But again... still takes more time away and also volunteers can come and go as they like... I know I wouldn't want to train someone and then a year later need to train another person.

well people would still appreciate a video.
so how about just a raw version of it, no editing?
i wonder what it would look like.

just shoot the video. and then post it up on the youtube channel.

no doubt it would be appreciated :) But honestly nothing is stopping the players from doing this on there own after the release. Taking the notes from the DN's or what's new and creating their won tutorials. I know a few have done videos that feature the new content in the game and we have twittered them before. I think also posted in the DN's too. We really do want to feature more player videos. :)

No matter what any one does, someone will always mis-interprit it. So in a way, doing the videos and the DN's, there would still always be someone who mis-interprits it.

I do enjoy going back and re-watching the videos, especially the first one, and then comparing the features then to the features now XD. There was also the video of Nightwraith showing us how he built Azrael (I think thats how you spell it) and how he promised that the valentines day weps would never come back XD, that made me rofl for quite some time. Point is, I think all of us want the videos back, but like Charfade stated they are very time consuming, and you could say "Well why can't Titan do the video's after the release" I'm pretty sure Titan doesn't want to do anything related to EpicDuel on the weekends or on his free time.

Well, if Titan every has spare time or he gets someone extra to help him, i would like to see videos on the updates. I looked at the ones that were made in the past and it looks like they are very helpful.

Charfade Has a Point, Most of my Video's are Builds but When An Update comes out I do a review on it simply because it's fun. People all around the Youtube community do them. They might not be of equal quality but I know I will always be doing them :)

Either way , I say its fun to watch. I liked to see it come back but not begging for it :) (Maybe in the far future they'll put it back! But who knows ;P)

And I agree with Charfade about time,( And about cloning Titan ) and since there are less than 5 Mods and less than 10 admins and over a 1000 Players to impress. I can see why they cant make the vids.

I was also thinking about this, But as someone stated above it's hard to perfectly interpret everything that we get given from the DNs. I'm sure some of the current video makers wouldn't mind as that's what they do anyway. (Maybe a team of 3 - 5 people who create the videos once a week.) Its definitely something I enjoyed watching but I also think twitter has also made it somewhat obsolete.

 Charfade I don't see why you can't higher your own staff like wiseman. You guys don't really make attempt to even try find new staff. Not once I have not seen it for all years I been here in ED.
