Rate: 20% EFFECT You receive Armour Lean x1.125. If you are using a Ranged weapon, or a weapon tagged as a dagger or rapier, Attack #2 has a [Monster resistance to the last hit's element]*[# of hits connected]/3 chance of attempting to paralyse* the monster. **If this chance is above 100%, the monster has a ([chance] - 100%) chance of being paralysed for 2 rounds** and (200% - [chance]) chance of being paralysed for 1 round. **The monster takes a -7 penalty to its save***:Level: PowLvl vs MonsterLvl Major: YourDEX vs MonsterCHA Minor: YourLUK vs MonsterLUK **Monsters of the element of your last hit† and monsters immune to paralysis†† are immune to this effect. If you are using a Ranged weapon, or a weapon tagged as a dagger or rapier, your weapon Specials have a 20% chance of being a "skillful strike", which will attempt to paralyse the monster (see above). If the monster is already paralysed, instead of attempting to paralyse it again:- Attack #2 does 140% damage. This is applied multiplicatively, so each hit of Attack #2 does 58.3% of [Normal attack damage]
- Each hit of your dagger, rapier, or Ranged weapon Specials has a 50% chance of doing 120% damage.
ELEMENTAL AFFINITY You can visit Nimrod in the Guardian Tower to select an elemental affinity for your armor out of the 8 basic elements. Depending on your choice, the armour's resistances will change: your selected element receives the best resistance, while the resistance of the other elements is based on the Elemental Wheel. "Allied" elements are slightly worse than your chosen element, neutral elements are worse than that, and so on. If you wish, you can also choose to take a neutral affinity, which gives you flat resistances to all eight elements. COLOR CUSTOMIZATION This armor follows the Custom Color Scheme you have set for your Guardian Plate. To customize the apperance, visit Valencia privately. *Your skill intimidates your foe! **Your skill has stunned your foe for two turns! ***Your foe is unimpressed and unfazed by your attack. †Creatures of «Element» are immune to skillfully stunning strikes from your current weapon! ††Your opponent cannot be paralyzed! DESCRIPTION A more powerful version of the Guardian Leathers, this light armour can unleash skillful strikes that deal more damage. These will even paralyse your enemy if using a Ranged weapon, daggers, or rapiers! Image thanks to Dragoon23. Basic stats thanks to Kamui (via Dragoon23). Numbers thanks to In Media Res. Analysis Starts off as a mid-offensive armour:PowLvl 5 25 50 65 85 105 125

+BTH 0 3 6 8 10 13 15 Attack #1 does 93.75% damage, split evenly over the two hits. Attack #2 does 125% damage, split evenly over the three hits. This averages out as 0.8*93.75% + 0.2*125% = 100% damage. Both attacks also gain +3 BTH but deal *85/88 damage. The armour's Mastercraft bonus is used to give Attack #2 and weapon Specials chance to paralyse. If the monster is already paralysed, you instead receive a straight up damage boost, so that the Mastercraft bonus is not wasted. See the analysis of Mighty UltraGuardian Plate for more details about the damage boost against paralysed monsters. Updates July 5, 2011: The armour was released. November 11, 2013: Several features of the armour were updated. Most notably:- Name was changed from Deft UltraGuardian Plate to Deft UltraGuardian Leathers.
- Appearance was appropriately changed to look like a leather armour.
- Uses the Armour Lean x1.125 status.
- Is more likely to inflict Paralysis, the paralysis can last for 2 turns, and can also be inflicted with weapon Specials.
- Does additional damage against Paralyzed monsters.
- Uses new scaling.
- Has more focused elemental resistances.
