I think it's more like a must. When we have like 5 Bot thing will be way too confusing

Or a simple way. Make the Damage Range Numbers (I.E 21-25 + 24) have different colors corresponding to the robot.

Besides, BOTs are already strong, must they be a surprise attack too?

For those wanting a temporary worakround, you can just use the robot stat progression, look at the opponents tec to see what robot they have. Perhaps they could show the pet in battle, hovering on top/beside.

Or an icon of the pet next to the HP/EP bar is the best possible way.

^Agreed. Whatever it has to be must be visual so people starting the game will no what they are
