There is an "Ignore Chat" toggle when you click on the player and their stat box appears to the upper right. The red right most button is the ignore. It does not turn off friend requests and it does not stop faction requests if you don't have a faction.

Lowbie and non-var are not even remotely close to insulting.

Yo Psi, how is your mentoring going? Or have you taken a break? (He took some of his free time to help newbies learn EpicDuel basic modules)

Mentoring definitely been on the backburner :(

I now play all my chars [6-8] in a kinda rotation so I don't rly get much time to "specialize" on a class. I'd probably never play Blood Mage, Bounty Hunter, Merc or Tac Merc
though if Cyber Hunters hadn't been buffed beyond belief. the other reason I am semi-active is because of the power of Strength and Dex builds, and how they now heavily
favour the 2 top classes, CH & TLM. Some days the game just feels ruined by the class hopping of the "I must winning" brigade who switch classes overnight.

so all that basically explains why I'm not just focusing on Tech Mage & Cyber Hunter. Which were the only 2 classes I really liked.

ps: if anyone does want to discuss Tech Mage builds, feel free to PM me here :P NO Cyber Hunter builds ty. just ugh :P

Solution keep your buddy list full, so people can't add you ;) Thats what I do.

And when someone important does want to add me I just buy another 10 buddy slots :P

Fay beee said you can turn off friend request so basically it wouldn't pop up. I have done it before and works and beside just buy 10 more buddy are waste of varium.

@wind's idea,

And if buying buddy spaces will cost you too much, you can also delete a buddy which you either don't talk to often, or any other reason e.g.

Beep Beep! ArchKnight AQ / ED

I don't find them annoying to such an extent that i will ignore them, just as of late a vast majority of my friends list is either always active every day or so, or just long time in game friends i do not want to delete. But say for example if someone buddies me in the request for a boss, then i'm always more than happy to help them, providing i can make room :)

@greenrain13
I don't ever delete my friends - who I "don't talk to" because I've always talked to all my friends. Even though maybe a big majority of my buddy spaces are filled with inactive and retired/ old players, I still keep them since if they ever go online again to play EpicDuel I'll know :P

Also I don't think buying more buddy slots cost that much at all. To me there's nothing more fulfilling than making new friends right? I don't mind buying more buddy slots to add more people, because I find deleting other players is pretty mean and a bad thing to do, since I do know all the players in my buddy list pretty well and deleting them would most likely break our friendship.

Every single friend in my buddy list are either Beta, or Alpha testers, you won't find one Gamma or Delta player in it, which is also why treasure my buddy list as it's filled with people I've known since I started playing ED and of those who share the same opinions as me. If you were going to delete a player from your buddy list why would you even add them in the first place?

I think if you don't like receiving so many buddy requests from people you don't know, tell that person in public to stop adding you because surely they will stop. And if they continue it's most likely because they want you to help them, obviously you wouldn't want to help so kindly reject their request to help them fight a boss battle or such.

Also if your receiving too many friend requests it's most likely because your in a heavily populated public area (like Oz world 7), if you don't like being bombarded with requests go to a place more quiet and less public (Like your own house), which is what I do most of the times, that way only my friends can find me and no one else - a few players I know including most moderators also do this to get away from all the attention. :P

^^ Well that's just my opinion and suggestion :D

I would have to say 20 buddy slots is the limit for me because after having maybe 15 active friends on any given week, the inactive friends do not make up for what you have purchased in buddy slots.

Yes, being loyal is a good idea, but this is when you have already communicated off-line time for when the player is gone, yes? If the person was not able to inform you that he or she will be gone, there is a matter of uncertainty if the person will ever return... or is just clogging up a buddy slot because they will never return.

Just because of my state of affairs I am going to buy my first buddy slot upgrade... to 20. Mostly because I am making a permanent faction and my buddy slots will be reserved for essentially whoever is in my faction.

Turn it off or fill up your list. If somebody important wants to add you turn it back on . Usually important players will ask to add one another during conversation rather than merely adding.
