I do realise that currently we are in need of moderators but I am really shocked to find that a good friend of mine lodged a complaint with the Lawman and the Lawman must have taken an early Easter vacation because my friend's complaint was not read until 5 days later!

Without flaming please, can anyone else tell me if they have had the same experience lately?

I don't wish to press the admin team to make a hasty decision on whom they choose to represent EpicDuel from the current moderator applications, but I would just like to bring it to our administration's attention.

Also, I have no idea who is an in-game moderator these days. Can anyone tell me who I can see in-game?

I am wondering if our community would like to see more moderators in-game or are they happy to report to the Lawman.

If my understaning is correct then all of the Mods can see reports sent to the lawman so it taking 5 days seems a bit odd but depending on the nature I could see how it would take some time to resolve. I sent a report about an account scammer, which most likely was using a scammed account if he was a scammer that knew what he was doing, and it took The Lawman a handful of days to get back to me about it but I also asked the lawman if they could look into if that account was a scammed one or not so that may have taken up a good chunk of time.

Personally I don't think we need to see the mods more often in game for these reports to be handled but I have not seen any mods online of late but I have not been very active and I tend to avoid crowded servers so my chances of seeing Ashari or Lycus listed online is slim.

This is nothing compared to some games. I used to play an FPS, the average response time for a ticket was about 7 - 9 months. Yup, you heard me. Compare 5 days to 7-9 months, and I'd take 5 days any day.

hmm ... well, i did send a report severa days go (i'm uncertain what the EXACT date was, but i think it's about a week ago.
i'm also not sure if i requested a read reciept, but in my previous experiences, i always got a pm back when it was dealt with.

anyways, i think only cindy has the pass for the lawman, and she DOES have non-ED things to do :3

Well I am deeply concerned for the welfare of our community.

@ OWA. Yes it took 5 days before my friend got a read receipt.

@ Hypedxlord. I wouldn't even be bothered playing a game that did not have good customer care relations.

hi shad :)

i've had the same experience with reports to The Lawman....some got answered (albeit late) ....some didn't

i also got mistakenly banned, in-game, from one of The Lawman mods (many ppl/mods monitor that acct) ...they banned me for spamming, that an impersonator of me was doing while pretending to be me (took me several days to rectify)...i'm not sure that the in-game mods check that account as much as forum mods do.....and i'm not sure that those mods play the game.

I understand the staff is currently understaffed, moderator wise, otherwise they would not have opened up the moderator applications but five days just for a read receipt seems like it is a tad bit long. Personally I think anything in the 3-5 days timeframe is good anything before that is great but anything afterwards depending on the report the damage is more then done and in the case of a scammer or impersonator not just is the damage done but they have been given plenty of time to go about damaging others either by taking their account or killing there reputation.

All in-game moderators have access to The Lawman account, and I know I try to get on it at least once a week. If a report does not get an answer, it does not mean that we've ignored it- I know in a couple cases, I haven't responded because either the report needed more time to investigate, seemed like a "personal" issue, or unreadable (broken links, a link to a file on their harddrive, etc.)

MirageD- because of the situation with you is why I'd initially cut back on accessing the Lawman account. I was so afraid of banning the real person behind a name spoof attack.

All of the in-game mods play the game (with the possible exception of staff from other games who have moderator access)

Inconceivable!

I generally check The Lawman every day (so I'm probably the person that's answered your reports). However there are situations where our real life responsibilities take away from the time we can moderate EpicDuel.

This is part of the reason why we're searching for more moderators -- our active moderation staff is quite small at the moment, and any one of us being busier than usual can lead to a backup of reports. I do apologize for the delay in reports, but having new moderators will really help the situation!

Poste haste! I do not like seeing our community, with all that has been invested, exposed to hackers and scammers.

I do not like to apply more pressure when things are already stretched but surely we need to keep on top of the situation at hand.

Some players (lots actually) have invested not only a great deal of cash but a great deal of time as well. I would hate to see things go awry for anyone.

Also I just fail to see how someone's report can sit there for 5 days before it was read.

I personally feel that 5 days in most cases isn't bad at all, as an extreme. Most games I know, when you report someone it takes between a week and two/three weeks until they sort it out. With the fact Cinderella and Ashari regularly check 'The Lawman', and Ashari does certainly check it almost everyday, most reports are dealt with on the day, or the next day. This being the case, 5 days is probably the extreme side of things where all of us are really busy, and can't make it on, and that should be the maximum amount of time it takes for the report to get dealt with. That in comparison to a lot of games, is pretty good going, and 5 days really isn't a large length of time at all. Right now we do have a very limited number of In-Game Moderators who are active, Me, Cinderella, Ashari and Alley Cat are the main ones who are active, though there are others who do make it on from time to time to help. Which as Ashari said, is part of the reason we do need more Moderating staff, and as soon as we get more Moderating staff, chances are that all reports will be dealt with within 2 days maximum.
We try our hardest as a team to keep on top of all issues like this, and it's all well and good saying we're not dealing with these things fast enough, but if we're really busy with issues in real life, then we can't change that. If we get more Moderators, then response times will be reduced, but right now, I don't feel that 5 days is that bad when it is the maximum amount of time it will take us to deal with an issue. We do keep on top of the Lawman very well, and all issues get dealt with accordingly, and usually swiftly. We do make sure that for the sake of all our players, that anyone that needs punishing is punished as soon as we have hard evidence of them breaking the rules. As Cindy said, some people don't always provide enough evidence/any evidence due to broken links etc. and that will prolong how long it takes us to sort it out, if things want dealing with at high speed, then they need to be sent in with enough evidence of the rule breaking, and then we can deal with it immediately, if not, then they'll have to wait for us to look into it, so we don't punish someone innocent, such as what happened with MirageD.

Please understand I am not finger pointing and I appreciate your responses.

Perhaps though, we really need to start recruiting the outstanding applicants ASAP.

what surprises me the most is, 3 staff members have responded to this post in less than 6 hours but it took them 5 days to open a complaint. I dont know what more to say .

Hypothetical scenario ... someone hacks the system and is impersonating moderators ... what would happen if my report sat there for 5 days unread. hehe

5 days isn't so bad considering how small the team is and everything else they do. Also your question in this post was answered right away by Cinderella, Ashari and Lycus. Thanks for the Prompt response guys ;)

@Rui must be a slow day for the mods and they have time to get moderator work done instead of just real life work.

Personally I feel this topic has proved two things: The first being that mods are in fact people and do get busy, see anyone of the moderators posts, and the second one is that the mods read all or atleast most of the threads because this thread could have easily been about Cindy's little twist she throw us with her mission involving The Lawman.

And I'm going to agree with Lycus for a small community, which is what we have here in the EpicDuel section of Artix Entertainment Forums, 1-5 days is pretty good responce time for a good report(All links working and all the information that is needed is there) so I guess we are just lucky that we have active mods to check up on these things.
