Chapter 3.2: Returning to the Roots That same night, I had a weird feeling. I wanted to return to myself, to when I started my path as a hero of Lore. I went to Battleon, leaving Laelala in charge of the tower and to monitor Willow Creek. I didn’t know how long I would take to find myself back. I headed to the trainers of Battleon, where I spoke with Juvania. I wanted to employ my dark magic into healing magic. She gave me a basic training and the knowhow to heal friendly people. I decided to train my abillities, and knew it would take very long to be back in the shape I was when I just started my path, as healer. ‘Healers possess the basic knowledge of nature and employ their magic for good purposes, you however, Miss Danitia, are evil. However, I do not see any problems with you training as a healer as you can tunnel any kind of magic to your liking. Your legend headed ahead of you, and we know of your great deeds, and your evil deeds. Now, I hope training as healer makes you realize that you are on Lore to do good things, either in name of the Shadowscythe, or in name of King Alteon the Good. Whatever choice you make, is fully up to you, and your wisdom and intellect will aid you as a healer, wether this is evil or good.’ said Juvania and she handed me the healer robes. I put them on in a seperate room, beneath my black robes and returned to her. ‘I promise I won’t do evil things as a healer, and I will aid the people who need healing in time.’ I replied. ‘I will rely on my abillity to trust you, Danitia. Now go and train, be one with nature and everything that surrounds you and aid those who need you!’ spoke Juvania while she held her staff high into the air. ‘I will.’ I replied. Then I headed to Yulgars Inn for a raspberry smoothie. People greeted me, the local heroes of Battleon and Yulgar himself. I looked around and chatted with people about random things. Then I walked outside, into the forest of Greenguard. There, I met the Mysterious Stranger. ‘Danitia. I have been looking forward to this moment, and I have been looking forward to meet you. Your legend proceeds you.’ he spoke. ‘Whoa... who are you?’ I asked. ‘A lich with your power, knowledge and wisdom should know who I am, but its not important right now. You will hear more of me, once Drakath is defeated. That will allow you to unleash your true power, or take it to a greater level, which I can help you with.’ replied the Mysterious Stranger. ‘Just tell me how... and I will get to it. Sooner or later’ I smirked. ‘Your services to Nulgath, General of the Abyss will be rewarded. Seeing that you develop yourself being good and doing good things to aid your fellow heroes, will be rewarded as well. Be sure to become a blacksmith and forge your own weapon, then I might be able to imbue this weapon with Doom.’ said the Mysterious Stranger. ‘Sooo you want me to forge a doomweapon? Listen, Mister. I’m a magician, a necromancer and a immortal lich, not a weaponsmith.’ I replied. ‘Cysero is a magician too and he forges weapons, doesn’t he?’ replied the Mysterious Stranger. ‘Uhm yes.’ I replied. ‘See? you can forge a weapon on your own, magically imbued even.’ replied the Mysterious Stranger. ‘Okay, you’re right. I will learn the art of the blacksmith. Let me talk to Yulgar and Cysero, and we’ll see from there.’ I replied. ‘That would be a good idea, but don’t get me wrong, i’m not forcing you to do this, but I just want to help you in your aid to become stronger and more powerful. The right weapon gives the power you need.’ replied the Mysterious Stranger. ‘Can I bring you a staff... which contains the skull of Noxus?’ I asked. ‘That weapon is forged by Cysero, and I cannot imbue it with Doom. Noxus does not qualify for a doomweapon, you do however.’ replied the Mysterious Stranger. ‘Does that mean you want my skull?’ I smirked. ‘No you fool. You are able to forge a weapon which I can imbue with Doom.’ replied the Mysterious Stranger. ‘Allow me to think about it, and get on it. Will you be around here?’ I replied. ‘Yes.’ replied the Mysterious Stranger. ‘Good.’ I replied. Upon that, I wandered off further north, where I summoned Bonehead, my undead minion. Willow Creek was further north and I decided to pay a quick visit. Once I arrived there, I notice nothing had changed since the invasion, which was good. I wandered inside the church, where our Skelecommander was standing on the altar, and an audience of undead minions were sitting on the many benches. ‘All hail the Queen!’ I shouted. I had a feeling something strange was going on, as if the minions were rebellious. ‘Minions! This is supposed to be our queen. A mortal.’ spoke the Skelecommander. ‘Who is our deity? A immortal king?’ he continued. ‘Desterrat Moya!’ shouted the minions simultaneously. Then the minions looked upon me. I walked back outside and headed to my tower almost immediately and with a lot of speed. I had to get out of there and fast. Then I noticed the minions were not following me. Then I arrived at my tower and went upstairs as soon as I could, to see if Laelala was there. ‘Laelala, the minions of Willow Creek are revolting! They found their hail in some thing called Desterrat Moya?’ I spoke. I noticed that I didn’t have to catch my breath anymore, because I wasn’t breathing at all since I became a lich. ‘Then the legend is true. There is a Royal Undead Slayer named Knave1. He told the legend about a creature as powerful as a undead deity named Desterrat Moya. This being resides in the void, and is able to control any minion that isn’t attached to its master securely.’ replied Laelala, with a severe look in her eyes. ‘But how? How would the being be able to control them? or take control of them?’ I asked. ‘He doesn’t. The faith of the minion in him empowers them to set themselves free from their master.’ replied Laelala. ‘The skelecommander!’ we spoke simultaneously. ‘We imbued him with raw mana in order to develop a will of its own’ I continued. ‘Enough to set himself free and believe in the deity, and enough to cast a rebellion spell upon the minions of Willow Creek, or he set them free.’ spoke Laelala. I sat down on my bed and took some time to think. I figured soon enough we had to overthrow the skelecommander, but thought of a different way. ‘I think I’ll journey to Swordhaven and see if I can find Knave1‘ I said to Laelala. ‘Why, madame?’ she asked. ‘To see if we can destroy the undead deity?’ I replied. ‘It can likely be destroyed, but be aware, don’t tunnel raw mana into void magic!’ said Laelala. ‘Uhm? why?’ I asked. ‘You are facing the foe on his terrain, in the void...’ replied Laelala. ‘Void magic doesn’t work in the void’ she continued. ‘Ohh okay. Got it.’ I replied, upon which I walked outside of the tower, heading for Swordhaven. Once I arrived at Swordhaven, I found Knave1 outside. Together with a royal guard and Alina was standing in the distance. The window was blowing softly through the trees, and it was quite warm in Lore this day. ‘Knave1. Good thing I have found you. My name is Danitia, interim Queen of the Shadowscythe.’ I spoke. ‘Your majesty, how may I help you?’ replied Knave1. ‘I have a slight problem with my minions... they are rebelling!’ I replied. ‘Then you come as needed. I have investigated this issue, the undead were not calm for a longer time, so I found out something was wrong, as if something was turning them against their masters. I was right. There is a undead deity in the void whom is causing the uprising. His name is Desterrat Moya, I don’t know what he is precisely, but he is powerfull enough to cast rebellion spells all over Lore’s undeads.’ spoke Knave1. ‘Strangely he didn’t affect me...’ I replied. ‘You are a lich, but still connected to your human form. You are balancing between the realm of the living and the realm of the dead, being a very powerful lich. Therefor you have a will of your own, and he can’t reach you as your wisdom and intellect is beyond, or equal to his. You can control anything undead too, just like him by giving them faith and something to believe in. Also, you have learned to control your raw mana, and eventually tunnel it into magic, by reading the Archmage Research book, written by Beleqwaya Melamin. For more information about your eternal self, you should refer to necromancy teachers, such as yourself. Your legend has proceeded you.’ spoke Knave1. ‘So, how do I get in the void?’ I asked. ‘There is a spell I could teach you to take you into the void. Remember the spell well, as your journeys into the void may occur more than once, and being a Lich, it might come in handy to be one with the void’ said Knave1. Then he thought me the spell, I casted it and felt as if I was sucked into a major black hole. Then I closed my eyes and when I opened them, I was on a passageway in the universe as it seemed. It was a very odd experience, though I had been in the void before, to challenge the Void Dragon, except everything was purple then, now everything is clearly red. I started floating fast over the passage ways, hoping to find Desterrat Moya as soon as I could. I encountered other monsters, beings without a clear being, I destroyed them with a single hit of darkness as I was aware not to use void magic. ‘Desterrat Moya!? I came for you! There is nowhere you can hide!’ shouted my ghostly dead voice through the void. It made me shiver myself, but I wondered if my voice would stay like this if I ever came out. ‘Come on in, mortal!’ replied a voice, and a black hole seemed to open. I went inside. The most hidious creature I could imagine was standing right in front of me. If it was standing, I had my doubts, it seemed to be floating more. I opposed it. ‘So, you are Desterrat Moya? The ‘god’ my minions believe in?’ I asked. ‘Yes and you are? except a mortal?’ replied the creature. ‘I am Danitia, an immortal Lich in my world.’ I replied. ‘Immortal and a Lich? then you have as much power as I do, how comes your minions obey to me?’ replied Moya. ‘I do not know, maybe because I imbued them with their own will.’ I replied. I was surprised that the creature actually tried to start a conversation with me and not attacked at once it saw me. I could learn from him if I kept asking more. ‘Then they are not rebellous to you, Lich. They act out of their own free will. I am sure my legend must’ve reached them by preachers whom heard about me, and they must’ve started having faith in me. That is not because they disobey you, but that is because they’re free to believe what they want. If you denied them that, then they would never have started rebelling against you, dear Lich. I don’t force any undead minion to believe in me or have faith in me, even though I exist, it is their own state of the life force that resides within them. That life force wants to believe in me, so they have faith in me, and they think I do great things, which I promised them. All they want is to be free, like everyone else. You are free, even though you are balancing between the realm of the undead and the living. You could believe in me, as you see me with your own eyes. You came however, to destroy me. You oppose my might, as you are just as powerful in the realm of the living and the realm of the dead. Only a true Lich understands me being undead and would leave me in peace too.’ said Desterrat Moya. ‘It almost sounds like you have a conscience.... just like I do...’ I replied. ‘So do your minions, and mine. They act out of their own free will, thus they have a conscience thanks to the raw mana you gave them to increase their wisdom and intellect.’ replied Desterrat Moya. ‘I knew it.’ I muttered. ‘Have a chair... standing or floating is a bit uncomfortable isn’t it?’ said Desterrat Moya while he raised his arm and a comfortable couch and comfortable chair appeared, upon which he sat down. I decided to sit down on the chair too. ‘Drink?’ he asked, and a undead minion walked upon us serving juice. He gave the minion a piece of gold whilst it walked off. ‘See, if you treat them right, like they want to be treated, they will serve you well. You must not enslave them, but reward them as if they were employee’s of your corporation. An employee is simply a slave too if you look at it, because they fear that they can get fired if they don’t do their job right, and meanwhile they have to support themselves so they will make sure they do their job right. An employee will perform even better as a slave as they hope for a better reward or a promotion to a better function, you see this happen daily if you look around you. You don’t need to be a god, or a lich to see that.’ said Desterrat Moya. ‘You mean... every human being, hero, king and empress are slaves?’ I asked with a smile. ‘Yes, look at Empress Gravelyn for instance. Put there to avenge her father, enslaved to her wrath and emotions. Easy to be exploited by Miltonius. Or King Alteon, put there because he overthrew Slugwrath and he is a symbol to every knight and every hero that serves the good, generally he is a slave to them, if he turns evil, he will be turned down by everything he loves.’ replied Desterrat Moya. ‘Good thing I am a lich, I serve my own’ I replied. ‘Although I help out others, without a general need to do that’ I continued. ‘Yes, but you mainly serve your own goal. You are not enslaved to others or others their opinion’ said Desterrat Moya. ‘Assuming you want to achieve something, you just go do it, wether it hurts others or not, because you don’t depend on the opinions of others. That is the good way of seeing it, it makes you a deity or in your case, a immortal lich. I can do the same, making the undead believe in me out of their own free will. I can get a lot of power through them, but I don’t need it. All I want is them to be free.’ he continued. ‘Interesting, very very interesting...’ I replied smiling. A lot of thoughts went through my head because I knew this being was right on certain points. Especially the enslavement part. ‘You see, on Lore we are enslaved to our heroic deeds. others are enslaved to obtaining the best weapons and gear. Yet others are obsessed with earning Adventure Coins. While we, are here in the void, drinking a voidberry juice together, being immortal and all. But, we have achieved our greater goals. Being a lich, you don’t need anything further from the realm of the living, and for me, I got recognition in the realm of the dead so I don’t need anything further either. What is better than that?’ spoke Desterrat Moya. Watch others fight hard for learning new knowledge, which they employ in classes. And others, trying to earn Adventure Coins badly.’ smiled Desterrat Moya, while he created a magical portal, such as a viewport to see what is happening on Lore. ‘Yes sitting up here does have its good side, except I’ll be returning to Lore soon. How do I seize control over my minions back?’ I asked. ‘Just talk to your commander in Willow Creek, tell him what he wants to hear and he will be serving your goals again, trust me.’ replied Desterrat Moya. ‘And tell him you spoke with me, that might impress.’ he continued. ‘Okay I will try that. Thank you so much, Desterrat Moya.’ I replied. ‘Please stay a little longer. Here is another view from heroes trying to find me, trying to slay me’ said Desterrat Moya.
