When I joined, I found NPCs and challenged them. ANd I leveled up.

So I didn't feel the need to go into PvP until I burned 2k tokens into the Arcade *sigh*

It's more boring than hard, IMO

I've spoken to a lot of low lvl players in game (1-10) and noticed a growing concern with npc's at those lower lvls, so I created a new character and to my dismay, felt their aggravation. Battling city guards and or junker bots are extremely difficult now. Having only beaten them only 4-15 times. Maybe I'm just a noob... :(

Because field medic heals 10 hp at level 1 and everyone hits 9-11 damage at you every turn. That is why it's hard at the beginning.

Now I realize that I was lucky to realize the math involved in ED at a level under 20.

Yep, when I started out I was a Bounty. Totally messed up on that guy because I didn't know what I was doing. Then I created a Mercenary, and now I'm back on track.

It would be good if there was a practice area in epicduel were you could battle people but it wouldnt effect your record so you could learn how to use your build properly, would help alot of newbies out. And as alot of people have said a tutorial would really help people starting off, i remember back in early beta when i started i didnt realise until level 17 that to go to other places you had to go through the doors at central station >.<

Allthough i gotta admit, like my Cat's habbit of chewing the carpet ED has come along way from when it started back in alpha.

Epic Duel Is Not That Hard But Its A Little Hard
My 1st Account I Bought A Wrist Blade Every Level ( I Used The Wiki Which I Found Very Quickly To Help Me)
I Didn't Follow Stat Progression
I Bought Soldier Armor P Or E I Forgot And Then Sold It
Then At 26 I Quit Cuz I Had No Money

But After 1 Year I Came Back And Started New And Got Hacked

And Again I Started New And Stopped Playing Cuz I Had Little Money And Bad Weapons

Now I Understand The Game Alot And Its Easy And I Have Alot Of Money

@Deppressed void
you mean challenging npcs? yeah, you can do that to test a new build, but its not really the same as versing a real person with the latest 100% win rate build. and a practice area would take the stress of someone trying hard to get a good record.

I mean challenging other players for practice, since challenges no longer change the battle record. All you need is a willing and similarly levelled player (who might be a friend), and practice builds with them.

Depends. If they stopped with the "26+3-1+6" Stuff then it would help

i do think ED is pretty hard....

1. theres no tutorial
2. its hard to get money for people who most of the time dont win and people who really messed up on their character end up going through a large losing streak, making it very time consuming to get yourself back on track, thus making it very tempting to start all over and make another character. (and the process can repeat if the player still hasnt found the right setup.. very depressing route.. :/)
3. people with varium have a better chance at winning than non varium people because of the much larger amount of stat modifiers. (in my opinion its just ridiculous, i saw a player with about +70 dex, and +20 for the rest of his stats. thats just crazy..)
4. things feel a little overpriced, 15k credits for one weapon can take HOURS for some people. and 10 bucks for one varium weapon? thats quiet alot..
5. missions can be a bit confusing, the missions dont really seem to give you any direction and what to do or where to go.

ED is a nice and addicting game, but it probably has to be the hardest game out of all the AE games in my opinion. ED doesnt even have ballyoo which would of been a pretty nice way to get some credits/a little varium each day. Almost all the other AE games have this...

I think it is a bit more frustrating than hard,
when you compare your stat or build to someone
else and they get to go first or have more blocks than you.
Oh well such is life you win some and you lose some.

I agree 100% that epicduel is getting harder at each release because there are Many varium-related stuff that you have to buy for a reason even though you don't think that you want to buy it but I really want to enjoy fun aspect of epicduel and the incoming years to come.

It's not "harder", it's "more aggrevating" and "bigger gaps".

Nuff said? Nuff said.
