Why are there a lot of males with female avatars?

 Males have the same selection of public avatars as female players they are free to use whichever avatar they consider more appropriate or "pretty". It's a personal choice.

And of course you will not know a Member if that user is a Male or a Female assuming they can do whatever they want.
Avatars are made to be chosen freely, they may use whatever they want. ^_^
