Like Luna said... This is really a part of the current p2w approach of ED's pvp system.

The game needs to encourage more players to stick with the game by reducing enhancements to AQW levels.

Then you will see the Varium/non-var gap close and you will see many more nonvars in PVP.

Everyone wins: The game is more popular, Varium users will generally face a non-var for easier battles, and a non-var won't be entering a slaughterhouse when the 1v1 / 2v2 button is pressed.

I must say the devs have done a great job of releasing f2p content with proper power relative to corresponding varium weapons. And I love that some medium-range items have pay/grind options. The only thing left is fixing the enhancement system

^Just the pricing, not the mechanics (skins, etc.).... Anyway, its not hurting the popularity of AQW much!

To respond to the thread topic "is 2V2 balanced?", balanced I am not sure because 2V2 may not be compared relatively to 1V1 or 2V1... and may appear to be of it's own league. However, I can surely name things in 2V2 that can be considered broken.

•no compensation in the event: 1 player leaves/disconnects

•statistical imbalance between opposing teams (example: 2 LV 35 [varium] vs 2 LV 35 [starter weapon only])

•no compensation for event: 1V2

•multiple target skills (Multi-Shot, Artillery, Plasma Rain) imbalance

How do you respond to these breakages, forum?

By bullet #4, do you mean they are OP or UP? Personally, I find them UP.

Either one. If they are out or below their damage range, energy costs, cooldown, etc.

i had a thought about this, wat if 1 player leaves their partner and the whole battle automatically turns into a juggernaut battle but the wins or losses count as 2v2, so the 2 opponents have their stats and weapon damage decreased to that of a lvl 26-27 so the battle will still be interesting and fair.

That is a neat suggestion, what condition(s) would trigger the Juggernaut effect though? This could help if the partner leaves at round 1, but progressively less and less help if leaving later on, round 10 for instance.

What if that happens after they've lost HP?

@above if a partner leaves by either being disconnected or just running from battle the round will automatically reset and the round will start from 0 and all health and cooldowns will be reset to original, and the 2v2 juggernaut mode begins. this would hurt no-one if the fight restarts since its fair for everyone.

So, if my partner thinks that he/she is about to lose he/she can disconnect and give me a second chance and my opponents get nerfed?

Or...all players in it would receive win rewards.

its basically fair, since if a non varium player is vsing 2 full varium and his partner leaves then their health and cooldowns will reset and the 2 lvl 35 will be nerfed to lvl 26-27 depends on their lvl gap. so the varium players will have kinda fair battle and the non varium player will not die easily but still can win or lose if the 2 varium players can coorperate or not. same goes for a varium player vs 2 non varium players.

@depressed void: yeah kinda like that, im sure everyone would like a fair battle, and really 2 lvl 27 players non-varium or varium can put up a tough fight for the lvl 34 to 35 juggernaut. especially if they rage.

I still think just giving everyone else a win would be better.

another problem with 2v2 is 2v2 faction. now this issue has been brought up again and again but nothing much is done. ok basically if say player X is from faction xyz and he meets his faction mate he says a code word/phrase say "Titan is a noob" to indicate that he would be dcing and "i m a noob" to ask his faction mate to dc. this allows the faction to get fast wins and this has been going on since idk early beta. well i suggest faction mates cannot battle each other in 2v2 but can be partners instead.

@ king helios

nope people would abuse this system if they make it say i has a friend i ask him to dc 1 time for me than i dc 1 time the next time i see him. and 2v2 faction would certainly abuse this system as it makes the battle even faster and u gain a win way faster.

well imho if u r able to control/the other player which dc can just move by himself the problem for dcing would be solved or when a person dc a random npc appears.

agree with exactly with what you say luna. But devs count it as "bailing out on your partner" and thats the reason latinous never got banned for all the what i would call dummying in gamma.

@ luna; I think the whole 2v2 faction championship is rigged.

Yes 2vs2 is balanced. You don't have to do 2vs2, I mean, It's your choice to rely on a partner. Get over it. It's just bad luck and everyone has it!

@soul viod

you clearly don't play alot of 2 vs 2. Another 1 vs 1 player thinking they know everything and that only their battle mode matters.

I think the inbalance is quite fun. Just like soul void said, it is all about the luck, plus there are people with 75%+ 2v2 wins, that means something. Either you need the right build, or they are cheating. Clearly someone is doing something right.

If 2v2 was too balanced. it would be like 1v1.... that would suck, cause when you meet a good player in 1v1, you basically know when your gonna lose. 2v2 is where some non variums can have some fun. 2v2 is fine as it is. It is just bad luck if you get bad partner or partner leaves, but i think we need to discourage quiters. Maybe can can -24 credit or -12 xp.

@ robo90925

Even if that is what makes it fun most people want it gone since they don't like taking back luck.

@robo 2 vs 2 isn't just for non variums or noobs. It's the only battle mode where win% means soemthing. Another typical 1 vs 1 player. Think about all time 2 vs 2 players. We never get noticed. Our battle mode is fun but if u get many afk's or runners or even botting which has been in 2 vs 2 latly. Then it's not fun. Imagine getting a bunch of losses while trying to have a high win% and those losses arn't your fault do you know how annoying that is?

Everyone knows 2 vs 2 is unbalanced.

People, i got a fair amount of wins in both 1v1 and 2v2. I am a level 33 with 2k wins in 1v1 and 1.5k in 2v2. My wins in 2v2 is around 70% and 78% in 1v1. Look, i do get annoyed when i get a newbie or a bot, but i still maintain a fair amount of wins from 2v2. I already suggested to bring the battle limit / anti bot system back. You can never get rid of under equipped peope. Even i can take all my gear off and "troll" in 2v2. e.g. my first character from beta was a utter fail. i went bankrupted and i annoyed some people because of my lack for gear. There is no way a system (or very hard) can be made to differentiate varium players and non varium player. Sure you can powerup the person with the least level, but what will be the point of leveling??? The whole point of leveling is to get more powerful, but if you give free powerups for the lower levels, it will be abit unfair and will rid of the point in leveling. It will also make it much easier to level.

So i maintain my thought on 2v2.

@Mr. Clean XD: I don't get your comment....
