This is an older suggestion that some others and myself have shined on in the past.

So, how often do you involve yourself with other newbie players? Very little involvement? This can be a problem. New players may seek guidance, companionship, growth, etc. If they do it alone, without any help, they may feel hopeless and therefore leave EpicDuel permanently. Especially if they go to battle and end up in the gutter compared to more experienced players (especially if you or I create a new account).

Why not be able to help them, to reach out to these newer players interested in EpicDuel? No this is not a tutorial suggestion. No this is not a trade suggestion. This idea is apprenticeship.

In an apprentice program, a player is led by a teacher. Any EpicDuel player can recruit another player of a level lower than their own as an apprentice.

This system or apprentice program works by giving rewards each time the apprentice levels up. The teacher can receive for 1: an achievement. The normal reward however for each level-up would be a timed token or credit boost for the teacher. The apprentice would receive a bonus in credits for levelling up under their teacher. This is how we can get teachers to offer assistance to the apprentices. A rewards (or bribing) system. However, this can be exploited for personal gain. To prevent this, apprentices can not be recruited by the teacher if they:

•have the same computer internet protocol address

•have the same router IP address

•are created on the same computer or network IPA

•have correlations between their master account or email (maybe)

To (try to) prevent teachers from abandoning apprentices that take a slower time to level-up (lv 20 vs lv 1 race to level-up)... rewards would be based on 2 things:

•loyalty

•level

Loyalty and level will share equal impact, so the 2 will be relative with each other.

Reward = loyalty + level

= total level-ups with teacher + current level

Total level-ups with teacher reward = current level reward


This way, the most rewarding route would be to apprentice with a level 1 for the biggest reward.

I forgot to add: graduation.


When an apprentice becomes the same level as their teacher a special event should be defined. Maybe an awesome achievement?

Supported, i would like to help some newbie players this would also increase the join of new players to the game...

And why not give teachers more money, high lvls are who most need it

Also, this is a weird suggestion to add to this one, but although it might bother some people, using different IP addresses via proxy or private networks should limit the ability to play EpicDuel. Why would I say this?

For this suggestion, someone could alter their computer or internet-router (not internal-router) IP address to avoid the detection measures. Why hide anyways on EpicDuel? It is not like you are expected to be doing anything discredited, yes?

If a person uses 2 or more different internet-router IPs for the same internet connection, prevent log-in. If the person uses 2 or more different computer IPs for the same computer, prevent log-in. The aforementioned rules about multiple log-ins would still apply.

I LOVE this awesome idea! When I was a noob, I didn't play for MONTHS because I didn't get the gameplay and people were very mean to me. So, supported.

Yes, but we can't have high-level people in ED yelling insults at poor noobs who just joined the game...
There are people like that out there. We need a sort of selection process.

If the high-level wants to keep an apprentice, they are going to need to at least be "professional". The apprentice is righted to be able to leave their teacher. Also, insults do not help with growth. Experience (wisdom or knowledge) and reinforcement will.

I like this idea . It kinda reminds me of the previous hot cartoons and movies when i read the "aiding" part .

The time and effort involved (helping just one player in person) is not worth it, in my opinion. It's the ED staff's duty to ensure that new players are given the "guidance" they need for character "growth" and enjoyment of the game. I've had hundreds of players contact me for advice both in-game and on social media sites. Few of them ever ask "how to" questions that are not varium related, while the majority ask "should I" questions (to which I express my discomfort in providing an answer). Many are high level players and still don't understand how % chances work or even how to develop a decent build. These are things that can easily be learned, with a little trial and error and some reading skills. I think players would enjoy the game more if they were properly guided from the start with a more interactive and intuitive pre-game tutorial and in-game demos.

Here's a thought...

How about some sort of place in-game (I'm picturing a large screen display in the middle of Central Station) where players can go to watch interactive tutorials made by the staff, for various aspects of the game. These would explain virtually EVERYTHING a player needs to know, in great detail, to get a better understanding of the game.

I'm pretty sure staff are already working on some sort of tutorial!

Overall, this idea sounds great! I would love to help out the starting players watching them level up!
But the lower level battles would be like battlefields, with the "pros" giving them builds... Watch out!

Supported but like ReconnaisX said we should prolly have the apprentice and teacher have a special chat window with a report button on it so if the teacher flips on the apprentice and rages at them the apprentice is one click away from sending a report for the moderating team to look at and it will be dealt with accordingly

I was just giving an example, because lots of players, high-level and low-level alike throw needless insults, such as the 'noob' when you're standing at the end of the battle and they're dead.
