@thejop - Yes it certainly does matter that you can reach the cap in one turn and still have ice walls! Think about it, sure energy and light can do it ONCE maybe TWICE but that would be it for at least a few turns, Ice can do it MUCH more consistently. Sure you can reach the cap, but you ALSO are ready for when your opponent tries to break through your shields as you ALREADY have another ice wall in the ready. Not to mention that while he is trying to break through he is expending more energy trying to break them then you are to put those shields back up, so you will gain the upper hand anyway. @aliesterus - The problem with raising the cap higher then 20 is that not many characters can do a consistent 20 damage as it stands now and having it even higher would make an already difficult task that much harder. As powers and characters become stronger over time I believe that the cap could be raised, but as it stands now I can win with my Frost Void without taking more then 15 damage an entire match because I can still be so focused on defense and still dish out damage little by little. Takes forever, but I guess that is just how ice is supposed to be.
