Hi guys. Is it just me or is Blood Mage overpowered? Blood Mages have Blood Lust, making them nearly unstoppable. Another thing is Bludgeon. If you have Vile Talons, Mecha Staff, Charbinger swords/ staffs, Bludgeon takes away about 40 hp. They also have Deadly Aim, but if you have a Mecha Disintegrator...thats just straight up pwning. Who supports that Blood Mages should be less overpowered??

Yes they are overpowered, but shouldn't we wait omega to be released first to see if they are still OP?

Yes, we should wait till Omega. And another thing, Beta weapons for Blood Mages in Omega.. thats out of the question. They can add skill "cores" to the beta weapons and they will be over-overpowered.

You mention few items which end up in "straight up pwning". Wouldn't the issue be with items then, not the class? Anyway!

DA can be re-scaled to have normal progression (so it grants less damage early on and makes it equal as you train it). BL is fine as it is because they don't have Smoke or Malf to get higher damage although Intimidate is a defensive skill instead. Bludgeon is fine, unless you mean the way it works with BL but then it's the issue with BL, or no, Strength abuse which will be dealt with in Omega.

Bludgeon + DA + BL + Str-based items -> it's problem with Strength abuse not the class. This will change in Omega. Focus 5 will also benefit less from it since people claim it's also OP so y'know.

They will be equal to any other Lvl 35 weapons? Requirements are leaving from all weapons.

^^
Tell me how they will be overpowered with the beta weapons? My light blades will have the same power as beta daggers when upgraded to the max.

Correct, but its just the way the class is set. Too much strength and health skills makes them overpowered, including the weapons. And even the requirements are leaving from all weapons, its the stat additions that make their stats go up even higher.

Strength will be dealt with. Health will be dealt with. And no enhancements means less stats thus less abuse. ^^

Rayman, the beta weapons will be overpowered because the stats they add even alone. Just too much stats they add to dex. and tech.

Edit: But still Trans.. even level 3's can go get Charfades Swords and anything. Can you imagine that??! The health I have is 125. But too much strength will just *womp* your health.

Nope. They will be equal to any other weapon of the same level. You can adjust the stats on every single weapon but cannot spam it into one stat for sake of abuse (limit).

Yes. You can adjust stats on any weapon however you want. Health is at 125? In Omega, 1 stat = 1 HP, so you cannot abuse it anymore. And every stat is getting revamp to be less luck-oriented and more balanced. It's not a balance issue if it's based on speculations. And it was mentioned in DNs that some skills will be adjusted for few classes.

Like I said. Take for example a level 12 fighting a level 33. The level 12 has Dragon Buster alone, while the level 33 has Bunny Borg, Stun Cannon, Frost Slayer, Gamma Bot, and a Wraith Cannon. But in the end, the level 12 beats the level 33, but the level 12 is a Blood Mage, finishing the level 33 off with a Bludgeon. Thats too crazy.

Edit: How would you feel if a level 1 Blood Mage defeated you with a basic staff?

Level 12 cannot fight Level 33 player, therefore the statement is irrelevant here. Also with damage you may have from Bludgeon, Strength and weapon of appropriate level, the Lvl 33 player should have at least half of that in defence if not most of it making it deal no more than 10 damage?

But the level 12 has max Bludgeon, and high strength, and high Tech. It is irrelevant that a level 12 cant fight a level 33, but take it for an example.

But it cannot happen. At Lvl 12, you have 44 stats to be put + base from weapons. With that 44, you cannot have "high" Tech and Strength. High being here what, low-40s? Not mentioning base HP and EP. And yet that grants what, 12-15 damage (48 Str) + Weapon which can be maybe +20. Make it 32-35, max Bludgeon buffs it to 50-55. Not mentioning low Dex makes it blockable, the EP cost for the level. You're likely to be dead in one turn because of your low Dex. Tech won't even cut with somewhere in the 40s.

Typical level 35 blood mage build:
Max Blood Lust
Max Bludgeon
Level 5 Deadly Aim
Level 5 Reflex Boost
Level 5 Field Medic

I realize it takes around 60 mp to use the build, but the extra mp is from Reflex Boost.

Edit: But the level 12 has 33 damage on Dragon Buster. It still works for a high level, no doubt.

in my entire ED BloodMage era have I ever seen that build...

It's rather simple though, if you are beaten by a Str Build, get more Dex...
Are they using Energy for their attacks, well you got that Atom Smasher there in your skill tree no?

You claim BM to be Overpowered yet you don't realise without energy they can't do much

Hello? Reflex Boost converts 15% of energy each time your attacked. Use that energy for remaining mp on skills.

Can I just aid some in this discussion by saying that a level 12 cannot fight a level 33, and certainly cannot win, so long as the level 33 has a primary weapon their level

Wait what? In Omega, weapons will be scaled to Level if anything. You won't be able to use PLvl 35 weapon at Lvl 12. And Calogero is right. Energy is the key in these builds.

Dex raises blocking and 15% regen is when attack isn't blocked. And skill costs Energy and isn't passive. It doesn't cut.

Take it from me, being a Blood Mage for level 16-29.

Reflex Boost is an unreliable source of energy...

for starters it only gives you 15% of damage as energy
for instance 20 damage would give you 3 energy...

then the next thing which is a the big part really...
Reflex Boost buffs Dex which means you get a higher block chance...
Block = no damage = no energy return

I was also a BM from 16-29, only for me it was level 3-29, and I can personally say that it is OP
It wasn't at those levels, but at level 35,the 5 focus builds is ridiculous
