What do you think?

I think so.

Attributing it to our lesser control over health (and also due to low health numbers as a whole), I would argue that this is the cause.

I don't believe it. I am actually getting some 10 round fights. Some are 4 and 5 but they are nowhere as consistently short like in delta

I feel like with the new hp/ep thing, a lot of winning and battle length come down to who has more hp and who can dish out more damage faster...
It's much harder to tank or go high hp, the highest hp I've seen so far is 109, with most staying at around 85. On the other hand, 15-20 damage previously is comparable to maybe 25 damage now.

Energy should remain 1 stat per point;

HOWEVER

Health should go back to 1 stat per 2 points.

^ I second that. Almost all my battles end in 3-4 rounds, win or lose. Low health is such an obvious flaw I don't know how this didn't register as a problem during testing.

@above yup, strength and support abusers need to receive some penalty, the battle ends so fast, i see people dealing 73 damage with a AUX crit.

They need to decrease the progression of dexterity and technology for this in order to make defenses stronger.

They need to change stat progressions so that people will be able to do different builds than str and sup

Agree with everything said above. Against Mass BH, 3 round ggwp, against TLM, full tank, 2x heal, 2x atomsmasher, 15 round games. However, I DON'T agree with the 2 hp thing again! Most 35s I've seen all have 85hp+, which seems fine to me ._. or maybe I just haven't played enough of Omega yet.

I'm finding that personally, battles are lasting longer than before, which is ok by me because of the build type i play (No focus tank) thus allowing me more options with normal attacks in battles and adding skill cores to items, such as Regenerator (allowing two or three heals per battle) allows me to play a lot more strategically than i did previously. Classes with Malf or Smoke may see battles ending a lot quicker now due to reduced stats which may favor some people if you prefer fast battles, but not for those who prefer a more defensive role in gameplay.

On topic: This is a worry I've had, but I'd like to see how people adjust to see whether it's a problem, and if so by how much.

Sorry about hijacking my own thread, I was trying to relate the power surge in damage and luck happening (sometimes at the same time) into 1 big bomb ready to go off at any second.

My battles end in 3 turns 90% of the time.
I use malf then gun then aux then bot if i need to.

EDIT: The problem with this is whoever goes first has an 80% chance of winning.

It is long enough for me, usually 6/7 rounds.

I have tried to make an assortment of Dexterity, Technology, tank builds... but, lacking an offensive stat it will be driven over by Strength, Focus, or Support.

On the other side, if you have only offensive stats you can do well without defensive stats, just add health.

Battles are inevitably short because of the lack of an effective Field Medic - like it was before, the damage/defenses ratio, and the generally low HP.

And because battles are short, if one gets a crit, blocks, or deflects, even only once, he has already won in most cases.

Adding onto DrianX,

Because health is relatively lower but the other stats remain the same (although less stat points), 20 damage before which was maybe 15% of your total health is now 25% of your total health.

If they are ending too quickly? Get Ninja Reflexes or Deflection Shield for your armor; they have no way to see it coming.
