Then what fun do you get out of playing the game if you'll just use the strongest build, then when another surfaces, you change to that build and then do that for 2000 battles til the next build. Also, only using the strongest builds is just as cowardly as trying to trick someone to exit the game because you're so afraid of losing you won't even attempt to play using a uncertain build.

The fun is it gets you easy wins and I'm pwning people. I don't see how caring about your win/lose ratio is cowardly.

I actually setted a build trend. A long while back, I was using a quick kill-techmage build. I never seen ANYONE else with it. About a week after I started using my build, almost everyone lvl 20-29 techmage has stolen it.

It was a low lvl malf build with plasma bolt, reroute, bludgeon, and deadly aim. About 35 support, 25-30 resistance 20-24 +4 def 70 health, and 15-18 strength. I usually killed people with just malf, gun plasma bolt.

Tank caster that dishes out 40ish damage with level 2 bludgeon. I made this build myself.

How 'bout we all stop lying?
We all copy builds. True originality is not possible. Even my build was based off the original support mage from gamma.

On a side note, I make a maximum effort to not have the same characteristics as most other mages in Epicduel. It's not going as
well as I'd like, but I'd rather be original and happy than some build mimicking monkey who can't actually play the game, just click buttons.

I "made" my support TLM because I remembered my days of being a support merc.

@ Nico0las

I'm sure you and I never fought in Delta as you'd know that I've always had very high health and strength regardless of what class I used, the amount of criticism I got for my builds was and still is ridiculous people can't comprehend using builds that aren't on the radar. Unfortunately its this same thing why when new builds that are discovered they get copied if your crazy build turns out to actually work.

My first character during her early levels.

^ Same Tech Mage during late levels, ( notice the hp )

http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee409/FlowerVase/TechTanks_zps5beb177b.png

^ You see what happens?

I use the same build on all classes, some work better than others, like since I changed BM I couldn't win with 208 hp, so I settled for 170.

That is based on what you call 'copying'. If two people made the same build without realizing the other existed, is it copying?

I have currently been given a build by a person I'm not going to name...It has done wonders even though I'm going to change the build very soon!

Looks like every merc now is

1 7 10
x 9 x
x 10 x

~130hp
72mp
~90str
~90dex
base tech and support

Copy it!

Do a lot of people copy builds?
Yes.

Have most people taken inspiration from someone else's build?
Yes. (Probably almost all of us)

Me?
I try to come up with my own builds (as much as you can possibly come up with your own "original" build), I look at what has worked for me in the past and start adapting my builds as I go along. My builds usually center around high defenses and I build off of that. It's all about tweaking your build to your liking and satisfaction. For omega, I adapted my old bounty hunter build to a tech mage, and saw surprisingly great results. This was the first time I have ever seen a build like it on a tech mage. Omega hasn't been around too long and I've started to see other tech mages with very similar builds as mine. I don't claim that my build is completely original, but I created it from the idea I had in my own head, it was not copied.

I barely Copy other player build, In fact never.

Making build is fun for me, testing them, making it to be a better build and the best is when the build reach it's perfectionist.

Then others player copy it, it's the circle of life.

but its not your win/loss ratio if your copying its the persons you copied . your essentially taking benefit from their skill not your own .

That's right, taking advantage from a build developer doesn't sound right for me.

Let's be honest
I do copy build when I'm in a boss fight or when I need money so badly but when I have what I want I switch back to my original build which is def smoke.

HELLLLLLLLLLLL NO!

Originality ftw! Try like 100 builds a day, wasting like 5k credits a day :(( broke as hell now... At least I am finding fun out of playing my support 150HP mercenary build... unlike the abundant strength spammers...

I prefer making my own builds, mainly because with someone elses build you will not know the exact tactics it takes to outsmart the opposing person.

never copied a build ever most of my builds are my own build and i take 1-2 hours of planning/testing. most of my builds are stat abuse builds because i like to abuse a certain stat.

Beta: Merc: support build, BH: Tech build, Mage: support build/caster build
gamma:Merc: support build, BH: tech build>str build>support build>str build, Mage: support build
delta: TLM:support build>str build>support build/5 focus , Merc: support merc, BH:str build>dex build, CH: dex build, TM: Tech build, BM: str build
omega: TLM: support> str >support>str>support> 5 focus>support>str>support, Merc: support>str>tech> support, bh: str>dex>str>dex>str, Ch: did not tried any builds yet,TM: tech>support>tech>support, BM: No builds tested yet

i only used 5 focus at the end of delta because i wanted to beat all bosses without wasting any credits re-training and be able to do 1v1 and 2v2 and jug anytime. Note: i did not class change on my main, i have tons of smurfs acc which are around lvl 30-34. hence i play the smurfs acc to get a feel of a certain class. so imho, i don't think i copy builds, i just make my own builds and test them out. testing is the fun part of build making so why copy a build u wont have fun and u wont know how to use the build to its fullest. i don't mind losing because well i don't care about Win/lose % it is all about having fun. ED is a game after all u win some u lose some.

I usually don't copy, but if I do, I just take base, then I modify it.
