Added note:

With 12 skills per class, 72 skills in total, and the evolved classes reusing skills from the base classes- it just would not be right to accuse the players of not being able to be utterly original.

Kind of...

I'm the only person who I know that plays a Sup Tech BM build, but I modified the Supercharge BM build in Delta to suit myself.

I copy builds and test them out, and then focus on customizing them. Here is how my thought process works:

1. 1v1 pvp with (insert class here)

2. If I win by a big margin, great! If I win only by a small margin of HP left, I ask myself, what made their build almost win against mine? I screen shot their build and save it for looking at it in the future.

3. If I lose, I screen shot that build and save it like said above (Especially if it's a bounty hunter or cyber hunter)

4. If it was a bounty hunter, test it out and try to make it better. If it wasn't a bounty hunter build, I ask: Is there any way to make a bounty hunter version of this? And then so, I try to do that.

5. If I find two builds that might work well together, I mix them both and try to see if it works.

I admit, when I changed to a merc in omega, I copied a build upon fighting a fellow merc in 1v1, and he happened to be a str type. At that point, I still didn't know what the current meta of EpicDuel was. Was it dealing obscene amounts of damage? Was is being defensive? I was still trying to cope with what Omega brought to the dynamics of 1v1. After getting on my feet, I started to ask questions like "Is a reliance on stun aka maul effective when trying to win battles?" or "Should I leave some stat points on support to have at least 1 level of Adrenaline?" and I changed my playing style appropriately as I fought more in 1v1.

The fun part is when people think I'll just spam Double Strike and Massacre consecutively when it turns out I'll use a rage Meteor Shower as my finisher. :D

I changed to Merc one day after Omega launched due to all those STR Abuser and did the exact same thing. Copying the STR abusing + Max Berserk to get some wins. Although I've changed now to BM and made up a unique build I've yet to see other use.

build copying wont work unless you know what to do and if you are smart enough and happen to try builds , then eventually people will stumble upon a same build ( but exactly same build , ya that is a chance occurrence). but its never wrong to admit you took a hint from someone's build and corrected it.
more ever gone are days ( beta) when original builds came fast and new. right now the builds are all repetitive.
wasnt the smoke screen blood lust massacre BH prevalent in early beta.
didnt we see support mercs / str mercs in beta which led to skills having a stat requirement.
