I'm really glad about how many different kinds of strategies I'm seeing and adapting to with every battle. It makes the gameplay so much more fun and meaingful. Here, lets do an experiment. I'll list off the next 10 opponents I fight:

-Malfunction/Massacre Cyber Hunter with massive support and strength
-Max Massacre/Max Static Charge cyber hunter with an even stat spread
-Max cheap shot bounty hunter with 125 HP (Owned me. Azrael's Will was to no avail.)
-A 5 focus but also high strength bounty hunter with max passives, and level 5 smoke, massacre, and heal.
-Max malfunction cyber hunter with 143 support
-Focus bounty hunter with high dex/tech and defensive skills (The one build I beat approximately never as a str blood mage)
-Typical Smoke/Mass bounty
-Focus/Tank cyber hunter with high tech and defensive skills
-High tech focus bounty hunter with max smokescreen
-Another focus bounty hunter.

Okay, that turned out weird. I only ran into hunter classes. But even so, every single one of these players had a unique strategy with its own advantages and disadvantages and strengths and weaknesses to adapt to. Lets compare that to ten typical battles from Delta:

-Focus Blood Mage
-Focus Blood Mage
-Strength Blood Mage
-High HP Massacre Bounty Hunter
-Focus Blood Mage
-High HP Massacre Bounty Hunter
-High HP Massacre Bounty Hunter
-Strength Blood Mage
-Tank Tactical Merc (Oh, cool!)
-Focus Blood Mage

My experience, at least, has been that Omega has been a MASSIVE improvement in unique strategies and builds. Yes, lots of people spammed double strike/berzerker but now that its been nerfed slightly I'm not seeing it nearly as much.

I'm just excited about the sheer number of different successful strategies that can be used now.

Has anyone else experienced this? Do you think build and strategy is better or worse than in previous evolutions of the game?

Over the past week I've started to see more unique and different strategies with builds. I believe build and strategy is much better in omega than it was with delta and we just need to get past some balance flaws and we'll be there, but to be perfectly honest, I don't think we are too far from a pretty balanced game.

I love it! :)

It has been getting better ever more slowly. It's interesting what I could try to do when I'm pitted against a build I haven't seen much of.

There's not a great deal of diversity if every one of those was a hunter.

this is only normal since Omega is a new phase, although it seems like every class is still trying to find that oped build, then everyone one in that class just copies it, a great example is Strength Mercs.

Actually, I did a build survey for about 200 different players in 1v1 (only good players, who were atleast level 30 and had at least a 60-40 win/loss ratio in 1v1) during delta and found out some really interesting things:

-Out of 200, about 50 of the 200 were focus BM
-About 45 were STR BH
-21 out of 24 TLMs I fought were focus builds, 2 were non-focus tanks, and 1 was a support build
-about 100 players out of the 200 were focus
-about 80 out of the 200 were strength (for all classes)
-Class popularity in descending order: BM, BH, TLM, TM, CH, Merc

There were a bunch more of interesting facts, but that's all I need to make my point. Back then, there was really no creativity at all. Focus is a build idea given to the players by the staff (because bot damage increases with focus and there's a thing that tells you how much focus you have). Strength, while not a build given by the game makers, utilizes the most straightforward stat...strength. Strength only increases gun and primary damage (and fireball, but barely anyone uses that), while increasing pretty much nothing else such as block, deflect, crit chance, etc...

I'm quite happy now that there are lots of creative builds and the amount of focus and strength builds have severely lessened...I hope it stays this way after more balance updates are released.

yeahhh.. I don't see what game your playing all I fight are either str spammers or tech caster spammers.. hunters? still the same old massacre builds I'm sorry but there is no diversity .. just because there are a lot of builds for 2-3 classes does not mean there is "diversity"
