Luck cores have no strategic value. Its paying credits/varium to have a higher % of winning, which is wrong. In many cases these luck cores take a lot of fun out of battles, and I'm saying we should change them.

In this thread I'd like to see suggestions of what can be done to fix luck cores, and make them have more value.
All of the luck cores I'm talking about are passives, so the new cores to replace the luck cores need to be passives also.

Replacements for the Mastery cores:

Primary Mastery
~ Increases your primary damage by 2%.

Sidearm Mastery
~ Increases your sidearm damage by 2%.

Auxillary Mastery
~ Increases your auxillary damage by 2%.

Note: The 2% increase is only on your actual weapon damage, (ex. 36 for a lvl 35 sword), not on your weapon damage and str/supp bonus.

Edit: For the Primary Core, the 2% extra damage only counts for strike, and moves including a strike (Debuffs). This means you don't get extra dmg for massacre, berzerker, bludgeon, etc.

Well, everyone's gonna be on the move to those cores, but I hardly find the beneficial. I think it's more interesting this way. Not supported, sorry.
By the way, cheers mate!

I would support just eradicating all passive luck-based cores...keeping concussive shot, even though it's luck-based would be fine by me though since it has good tactical applications. One person I fought said ED was a statistics-based game, not a strategy-based game...how I pity that he never saw the good days where ED was about 3x more fun (if not more) during mostly gamma and some parts of beta. Luck-based cores are giving lots of new players the wrong ideas on how the game is meant to be.

Ummm no.

If cores would not be luck-based, they will be called enhancements.

Only enhancements provided sure benefits.

So no matter how angry I was on luck ruining fights, I do NOT want to see enhancements back. No sir.

I agree with this idea.

So, how do you consider Generator, Chairman's Fury, Energy Shot and the like? They provide sure benefits, and are not enhancements. Well, not STAT enhancements, anyways.

Agreed on GreenWarrior's idea.

And Drinde is right, Drianx. Every core is practically an enhancement.

I agree with drinde's point too.
I was actually referring to green warrior's suggestions, because releasing cores that boost damage is like releasing a core that gives some stat points to strength. Which is exactly what enhancements were doing in Delta.

Yeah, I see what you mean too. But I think what we're trying to strive for is something that is not spontaneously strong, but something that can help even out the PvP fights a little more. I mean 2% really isn't much

If I had a +39 aux, that's only 1 dmg if rounded up.

@Drianx
Cores replaced enhancements, so they need to have some similarities with enh. While my core suggestion is more like enh than some other cores, I think that a small guaranteed benefit is better than increasing your luck chance.

@Drianx: Everyone can get them for a small price of 7k credits, so they're nothing like enhancements at all from delta.

Man, we really need better definitions of game mechanics :P

Stat Boosters make a weapon better, therefore they are enhancements.

Cores make a weapon better, therefore there are enhancements.

Now, for the concept of cores, like I suggested before, the cores should not make one more powerful, but more diverse. Of course, a person with cores will always be more powerful compared to one without, but the power difference should be as slight as possible, giving both players an equal chance of grabbing a win.

Diverse means more viable and varied strategies, such as the (slightly overpowered) Azrael's Will was able to demonstrate. Now, Support builds have to fear for being hit by the core, and modify their builds to be able to last one more turn to fire off their Artillery Strike.

In my opinion, all cores should follow this concept: Variety before Power.

EDIT: Rambled off topic.

Anyways, I believe luck-based skill cores fall into the Power group. Even though it doesn't activate every turn, the potential of a block or a stun is extremely dangerous. Replacing them with cores that simply help reduce damage by a fixed amount, or increases damage by around 5%, would be much more balanced.
