Hey guys.

I am wondering about the point of having an alt. why bother? Some people, I know, make Alts for their 2v2 capabilities.

Anyone have any good Alts? Preferably link, and discuss.

I have alts mainly for variety, without spending vars too much.

but I also have alts just incase my main gets hacked.

My alt = Zaph.
This first was my main actually, but i started to early with jugging so my record was just bad and i didnt want to continue with that jugg record (it was bout 66.6%).
So i started this one ( Blitzex) and i bought var from lvl 1 of on and had 700 wins 1 day, 99% NO NPC's (that record was set on lvl 22 as the name Volt. if anyone remembers), thats why i continued with this account and not Zaph.

Use it to test other classes rather than wasting 50k on my main.

Well there are Alternate Accounts and Alternate Characters. We dont really mind if you have them as long as you dont exploit them for easy wins or share accounts with anyone else. If you get caught doing this... we typically lock that account. I have several alts ( actully most of the Dev Testing team do ) for testing reasons and playing different perspectives. Playing as a level 1 vs 10 vs 15 vs 35 is a completely different experience. I like the option to being able to play as a lvl 20 tech mage then a level 5 BH noob and its just fun. I feel if you always play as one character your kinda missing out. I also dont relay on varium on my alts, sure I have a really op build full var completely decked out... but I dont play it much. I enjoy the challenge of figuring out new builds. That's the nature of PVP really. Anywho, just my 2 cents. ^^

@Chafade:

In Early-Mid Delta, I got on my tech mage alt, The Platinum Mage, and helped a friend's faction (unsuccessfully) try for 1v1 daily. It was a lot more fun than playing on my main, a Tank CH / TLM.

I have waaaay too many alts. When I first started playing, I wanted to test out all 3 classes. xGreen Warriorx used to be a merc, Tardemon is my BH, and Zarmint is my TM. Then I wanted to try out the other 3 classes, so I made a new char, PlAsMa.MaGe, saved 50k credits, and changed to BM. I wasnt going to do that again because it took forever, so then I bought var on my main and tried TLM and CH. (Thats another story.)
I've got some other chars I don't really play on anymore that are below lvl 20, I'm not going to bother listing all their charpages. .-.

I make alts to play as a low level, and that sense of achievement when I get something like Beast Rider for an alt :)

I actually heard from a staff member who I was once PvPing against that the staff has lots of alts they play on, and that's why it's quite difficult to find a staff member to fight against (other than mods) since they're always using their alts for testing (I'm supposing those alts also don't have the specially colored name).

I pretty much play more on my alts than my main nowadays for quite some time now, as not many people know them. Nice to have some privacy. :)

Quite simply, alts are just more fun than high level characters. The battles are so much shorter,
you can actually get 2-3 battles done in the time it takes for a high level character to complete
one single battle.
