i dont have a solution, but this is ridiculous...
i have a a pretty successful bounty build with 90 p, 30 defense, high strength and high smoke.


i played 3 games with support mercs... all of which had only 150 support (versus the maximum of around 180)

every single game went like this:

first shot: critical deflection (my resistance is 29+... theirs was maybe 6+5+[5])
then i have to emp, so they dont multi
second shot: sidearm, critical
i heal because now i am down to 15 health
third shot: meteor, also critical
because of the critical, they end up doing another 40 damage
with 20 health, and knowing they have rage you can do anything, so i smoke, and regain 5
they use a regen core and and regain energy
i use ice shard and they still cannot multi. i not have 31 health.
they use their SIDEARM (not gun.) no rage. still a critical.




if you actually read that, you will see that out of 4 attacks, they hit 4 criticals.

the easiest but probably least supported solution is to remove criticals altogether. its not supposed to be a luck based game, so why is it becoming that? in 2v2 matches, i can recall too many times when i died leaving my level 35 partner facing a 31 or something, who would win do to random blocks, criticals, and deflections, even if they had lower support and dexterity and tech.

if this indeed has become a luck based game, can anyone tell me where to click for increasing my luck, because as far as i see, i is not a stat, yet some people drip with it in games.

Instead of removing crit altogether the best way to tackle it would be to either lower the crit chance gain per stat point to Support or not make crit based on Support.

But after this nerf to Support, I have a feeling players will just look for another build to abuse.

im thinking why not make it relative to a comparison between health?

lower health means more crits, high health means less crits. if they are meant to balance the game, then that could do a lot more for actual strategy.

I don't even see why your having trouble. BH is by far the easiest class to counter these guys because of EMP, so unless they get ridiculously lucky as you describe here, it shouldn't be a problem.

If you mean lesser health like we casters have, you are doing it the wrong way. Everyone will become Caster Mages and the game will go out of balance, just like in beta when there were only mages to be seen.

So because of one build using high support (which has a 1/5 chance of critting) you want to make it so crits don't happen for all? There is still the nanosteel core which was made to counter crits by 8%.

^To be honest, if you get crit, you get crit. Nanosteel doesn't help too much. I think what he was suggesting is to simply make the crit base % and cap lower. Like, the cap should be at 15% or something. And maybe make those cores 2 or 3% more crit chances because it is just rediculous how it DOUBLES your crit chance when fighting someone of equal support...

So that means that the nano-steel core was ALSO made for sup mercs to decrease the chance of other people critting.

I have to agree something does have to be done about critting and I'm not just talking about support mercs them impractically . Its happening far to often with builds with next to no support even. Also on the support merc note they're chance to go first needs to be dramatically lowered. On my alt i made a few days ago now level 26 in all the times I've versed them in the entire 26 levels a support merc hasn't gone first twice. Both in 2v2 never in 1v1.

i just gave three pieces of evidence (three different battles with different people) that showed 5/5 chance....

they werent hackers (their win/loss was too low for that, or they are really stupid)

just pure luck, and this game isnt meant t be about luck, its supposed to be about strategy.

I have to agree luck is a strategy, but when you get like 3-4 crits in one battle in a row then it's more of a luck battle than anything, but strategy. I'm not complaining, but the luck factor dealing with crits, block, and deflect have to be tackeled somehow so it'd be more strategy than luck based.
