@JMagician: Flash isn't better, if you don't remember, hand-drawn has always been the base to all of this type of virtual drawings, quite sad people think it is better. Most people think that way and it is sad. In my art school I learned to appreciate all type of arts and not diminish any of them because of their mediums, so I get annoyed when people say traditional art is no longer worth because they're so wrong. That's why I'm asking for this, traditional art and flash art to be in separate categories. I know traditional art can shine as equal, better said, shine more than flash art but it is always, ALWAYS diminished by people focusing in technology.

Voted for Laken because amazing. And voted the fallen angel too because that would be amazing in game! But I just bet his paint pic would put them off

I`m more of a quality over quantity guy. I could have made a big story as the character bio for each of those, but I wanted to keep it short and sweet. Read the bios again, they are backstories, they do tell of the origin of each creature.

Also be sure to vote for me so we can get one or more of those chars ingame! :-) I`m kidding, vote for whatever story you like the most! But seriously vote for me! Kidding! :D

@Asuka: I know they are really good, but I have seen people saying, oh a sketch, not bad, flash art? woah, I want that in-game, please make him a dev.
Really? Is that how current society watches art? Quite sad, I have seen it through years and I know I will continue watching how society prefers flash art, that's why I still stick to traditional art because it is the same basis, inspiration and skills are on the game.

Now tell me Asuka do you believe they have the same chance as winning as the flashes drawings?

People fail to see with out traditional artists most flash art would not be possible.

But they want te pretty and shiny ones over the highly detailed hand drawings

Yes. I believe they're all fair to equal judgement. No ones vote is more more or less than another's.

Flashy shading means nothing.
A good concept is a good concept.
Regardless of how its drawn.
All the same.

Not to bash the top 5ish

But there where others with way better more original designs who deserved to win

Like the harbringer

The only ones in think that really belonged in the top where migos wierd lizard thing and the battle ram


But Asuka you fail to see they are two different art forms being grouped together and voted on

Tell me which did you vote for?

I'm unless you have an appreciation for traditional art (which most of The Internet lacks) they don't stand a chance of winning

Just watch by the end of the voting I bet you the hand drawn characters have the least votes

No chance at all for the other contestants for that matter.

EDIT@DeathGuard: I am not happy about how Flash is the new big thing in art. I just learned to accept and deal with it.

Just think about it, XBoosts are capped at 20 and every character that is SG isn't even that great apart from looks. But shortcuts and good looks are what people are actually willing to pay money for. I am really mad but I deal with it.

@Jmagician and Asuka: This votings are based on two things: flash art and popularity. Pretty much why he is winning, his entry is good but I saw more unique entries like Darkon's and Hans_Alif's and it is sad to see they didn't got chosen.

EDIT: Final Conclusion:
In my reasoning, there should be judges not the players to be choosing the characters. Judges don't pick popular people to win, they only focus on entries, that's why I think this type of voting isn't that well balanced.

Didn't Darkon's DarkonDrago win the first contest character? It was hand drawn. He was just SO amazing though.

Also, judging that MigoDavid already got nearly half of the votes. I think he is a shoe in because I believe in trends.

I wish nulgath would tell us why they picked what they picked

The dragon knight guy is only in the top because he whined to rev after the first contest about how he was cheated and he put a lot of work into it

@jmag he didn't win rev liked his so much that he decided to put it in game

I found a major voting flaw idk if I should say it though because its not an in game bug
I mean it could lead to false voting results

 I don`t personally think that if you submit a flash char for an OS art contest, you have a better chance to gain votes then submitting hand drawn art. I voted for Roroth, the machine, because I love any sort of gunslinger char concepts. Migo David and DOT are awesome artists but their chars didn`t trigger a spark in my mind. The necromancer drawing doesn`t feel like a necromancer to me, but some sort of tank character, not a spellcaster. I don`t relate to the fire char and I think we have enough stealthy/ninja/katana wielding chars is OS for now.

So I don`t think having pretty art is a sure win in one of these contests. It`s all about meaning and having a concept that people like. Different people like different things.

I`m not liking what some people are hinting at. I would advise everyone to choose their words more carefully or else... ~Balu
