Rabble: In the faction system it wouldnt just be an all out. Why not make it so areas are both control by a faction and an alignment. i.e.: dread area 'a' is controlled by vivid, exile or vivid, legion. The rewards for your faction/alignment controlling an area will be the key here to stop abuse. There are obviously problems with this system as well, but the only other idea being offered is npc's which leaves room for much abuse and simply isn't as enjoyable as fighting real players.

i have an idea, but it looks strange even to me.
we could have more than 2 aligment , for example whit 4 aligments we would have more possibility to join a 1v1 since u wouldent be able to face only one of the 4 total aligments.

When wars come and big events such as this one and the infernal war come I am more active then a Giant Hornet's net given I have free time when said event comes. In other words If I have time I will be working in this war like I did in the infernal one.

Don't let what side I am in the war keep you from being on the side you want to be. If you are exile you can be exile if you want to be legion be legion.

I have to agree with you Beastmo. Especially since some of us are trying to get more battles for tokens. This really hurts some of us in a final grind for token exchange as well since we are getting less fights.

@Rabble What if you make NPCs every 3 levels that will fill in for players if it takes too long to find a match? To avoid players farming them, they would need to be fighting against lower level players only. And the lowest difference they would fight is 3 levels. So for example there's a lvl 1 player and he gets an NPC fight, he would be up against a lvl 4 replacement. But if he leveled up to 2, then he would be fighting against level 7 NPCs until he got to level 5 where he would be paired against a lvl 10 NPC. Also, make different types of NPCs so one can't make a build to farm them and fight them in a lower populated server. They should be a challenge NPC so the side with more players isn't getting an inherent advantage if they have a good chance of losing against the NPCs.

but if we introduce npc in 1v1 we miss the prupose of making an exile vs legion war, if we loose a battle we dont give a win to the opposite side, but if we win that battle we get a win for our side, this will just bring us back to the old wars, where the more populated side wins (probably worst)

@kosmo I assumed they would use Legion/Exile Frontmen for the NPCs so they could say that if the player fighting them lost, the other team would gain a win(if that's possible). It still wouldn't count towards W/L ratio and like I said, they would be anywhere from 3-5 levels ahead of the player AND a challenge level NPC. So it would be like fighting Titan if you were lvl 30-32 except you would also have a chance of it being a different build like say Nightwraith's(the names are just as examples of what power level I want from the NPCs, you wouldn't actually be fighting against the NPCs).

^ If it counts when you lose what's to stop someone from creating alts, choosing the opposite alignment, and intentionally losing to npcs? We shouldnt try and band-aid the problem, especially for such a large scale event.

@kd Good point, I didn't think about the abuse for it that would be possible. Perhaps make it so you have to be level 20+ and/or in a faction in order for it to pair you against an NPC. That way, you can't just create an alt to abuse it, and so you also have to be in a faction and have so much influence a day for it to count. You could also just have a way to track constant losses against the NPCs so the staff can look into it and see if it's an actual struggling player or just someone trying to take advantage of the system. There could also be a limit on how many times you could fight War NPCs an hour. There's a lot of solutions to counter it, some more effective than others.

Right, I know that there are counters to abuse, and rather than going through and nit picking minor flaws in some of your suggested solutions ill stand by my statement that NPCs aren't the solution. The amount of time that would go into attempting to prevent NPC abuse could go into other things. On another note I have a question-if I want to discuss the purpose of alignments should I create another thread or discuss it here? Thanks.

it works but you just get the same opponents. I have to fight the same legion player 5 times in a row as well as have the same partner 5 times in a row.

I'm finding 2v2 incredibly fun. You can more reliably fight with friends of the same alignment. It seems faster at finding players as well.

I honestly thought people only 2v2'd to get away from the Varium buffed players, at least that's why I 2v2'd in delta.

Takes me on average 6-8 minutes to find a 2v2 battle at 5.30AM UK time... maybe NPCs will be faster for now.

ND Mallet, i like your idea, but it needs some tweeking.

This might be the solution for this problem.

Exile/Legion NPCs based on lvl.
These NPCs will, like ND mallet suggested, be 3 lvl's above the players own level, which would not make it easy to beat.
These NPCs will also have different builds, which will prevent ppl from making builds specially for these NPCs.
These NPCs will interfear the battle engine once 1.5 minutes without a match-up has passed.
If you win, you will still gain a win for your aligment, yet not to your battle record.
If you lose, the opposing aligment will not gain a win, yet you neither a lose on your record.

Making it impossible to cheat by creating alts and lose on purpose.
Also making it impossible to ruin/improve your own battle record.
And, making the number Advantage from X Aligment still an advantage as it is supposed to be.

It will take some coding, but it is the perfect solution for this situation.
I rather wait one more week for the war to get this implemented, then to play in this crappy battle engine.

Isn't it just like saying like last year.
We had to fight ''The same NPCs in a row''.

There's nothing to complain about since if we did have NPCs, we would of had them alot more times then we did now (PvP). It would've been boring if we kept having to fight NPcs. Am I correct? Or do you want the NPCs back like how you was so used to battling in delta where people kept on fighting NPCs to get quick 1v1 wins but also quick credits.

Also this is PvP. What does that stand out as? Player-vs-Player, Not NPC vs Player.

I do not support.

Who said I was complaining? I was actually happy to get battles period that were quick. (it was power hour so I am not suprised) People are upset that wait times have increased due to the staff putting something into the game makes waits a whole lot longer.

First of all, the match-ups taking ages, but how do you know, you are legion?
This NPC system will only be here during the war, they will not give battle rewards or anything, just a win for the players aligment.

You do not support this because you know this will work in the advantage of Exile and you are afraid to lose, not?
Scared for competition, eh?

Even jugg takes (sometimes) more than 5 mins to find one

This idea about legion vs exile in PVP is a good idea but some people don't like it only if there were more players this thing will be great

I'm sure it will be all based on influence, not wins. Being Patient is the key. Ranting won't help the game

Also how are we going to level up if we asre going to gain wins but not xp? Very strange.

I actually didn't read it fully, all I saw was a repetition of ''NPC''.
And I'll doubt they'll put that in the game now, since you posted that in the game too late and it will take months for that to be completed.
Who said Exile has an advantage. Look at the WD for the first couple of days & You will see the true potential of legion this week!

And not really, I have a win ratio of 90% for 2v2. Yes mostly I do battle with members in the faction but also I do battle alone and still win ;3.........

Loving those crits......those stuns.....the high health ;3.

Do you use flow charts to create a feature or something. Might do flowcharts when suggesting something.
