Ok, so again, I'm posting this in favor of TLMs and the fact that they're boring to fight.

What I find:
They become too overpowered to tank, but their offenses are crap. They rely on the Botanical Hazard too much if they have it and it becomes unfair.

My solution:
Get rid of their Reroute, that's what encourages tanking and replace it with Static Smash.
Change Blood Shield* or replace it with Technician.
Replace Atom Smash with a new move or... Berserker??? Maybe Smokescreen if Technician does NOT get added.
Double Strike might need a slight buff.

*Blood Shield (Works like Assault Bot)
Sacrifice some health to make your effected less effected.

if they turn out to be worst then well buff them to death XD

@Midnightsoul

That would buff the class so greatly that I shudder to think about it.

TLM is actually a somewhat weak class right now because they have literally no offensive options and only tanking options. Before focus was nerfed, they could actually work amazingly well because their bot granted a reliable and strong offensive option, but now that its nerfed the class itself is fairly weak.

Actually they can be damage dealers very well I don't see where people are having problems seeing this. They unlike the other classes, excluding Mercs have all their defenses taken care of. With Reroute even with basic defense that'll still bring in enough energy to not have to worry about drainers. Their double strike and frenzy is really all they need to get the job done. Doesn't poison grenade damage increase with strength too? I see great opportunities for a all out damage dealer with Tact Merc.

But seeing as Omega values dex/tech so much most people just op for the cheap surgical strike build.

@Divine: Used to think they were a very successful class (which they actually were) in delta, and I couldn't wait to change to one. Once I did, though, I realized their biggest flaw and quickly got bored of the class. This may just be me, but I think it'll be obvious if you ever change to TLM that they severely lack in offensive options far more than any other class right now.

The only problem with the class is that the only viable build choice is tank/botanical hazard. I use this build and get 80+% (win rate) but it does get boring. In terms of being underpowered though....it isnt. But if botanical hazards are nerfed, hello class change.

Valkyrie: Surgical strike can be avoided easily with an energy shot gun core, frostshards, or an energy draining skill. Toxic grenade does 70% primary weapon damage.

As others have said, the best bet is to wait for the passive->active switch and then move on from there. Too bad that this balance change is going to come after the war and we're stuck with the current balance until then..

@Divine: You will find it extremely, extremely hard to win without any offensive options. People, especially TMs and mercs, could easily heal loop you until you slowly die. I also see you're coming from a BH class, which is an extremely offensive-based class that has blood lust and a debuff, so the switch to TLM would be a drastic and difficult change. If you still want to play TLM, no one's stopping you, but my advice is that you'd probably have to go through a lot of suffering to become a good TLM.

^no suffering at all. It's simple; if you have botanical hazard then switch, if you don't then don't. If you have the hazard and do switch pm me for a build if you need one.

Botanical hazards should not be a crutch for any focus class like TLM or BM -.-

I've seen quite a few successful BMs, TLMs, and CHs in 1v1 that didn't use botanical hazards.

@ EP

I just hate the Botanical Hazard bot all together, it's almost on the level of Azreal Aux. It is such a cheat for super tanks to do great damage that can't be healed away to simply bore/stall their opponents to death. It needs a 1 time use or longer cooltime.

have you not seen tech/str tmls? max dbl strike/ heal you to death.
super tech/ support-str builds that can dish out crazy bot/ aux damage...
freaking 5-focus/tech energy drain build! those things are such a pain cause as soon as you gain energy it's gone from atom leaving them plenty of energy kill you...
if anything they're kind of OP...

I totally agree. I know this one player that says Botanical's poison is their only convenient method of offense and I find it an invalid excuse to dish out and abuse poison 3 times plus.

@EDD

I mean as in they are too OP with Botanical Hazard with a high tech focus build.

Nevertheless, they can heal loop you without it and that's the problem. No other class can heal loop.

Tlm is a pretty solid class, it might not be the best when talking of stratategy, but tanking with poison and club with frost shards grants you one of the highest win %. I have to agree that is very boring to use.
@Midnight soul. Mercenaries and tech mages are the best heal loopers (the point is having it lvl1). Also blood mages and cyber hunters shuld always use 2 heals in their builds.

Yeah the class is so boring. My main is a lvl 34 TLM and it's getting really boring playing as a TLM, I mean the only good build we have is a Tank build. We don't have any good offensive options, we're pretty much forced to do a tank poison build or tank surgical strike build. I don't even have the botanical bot and I'm doing okay in 1v1, not that good but not that bad either. But every single battle I fight in is extremely long because well I'm a tank, so I can never do any real damage without using my poison grenade and pretty much healing and doing low damage throughout the battle while relying on poison or wait until I can kill with rage. Most of my battles last 6 - 12 rounds.

But they aren't that effective. All we have is Frenzy and Double Strike for a strength build, yeah that's really good compared to the other classes that have debuffs to increase their damage output and other skills like berserker, massacre, bludgeon, maul, and fireball.

I know from a two weeks ago that I was a tlm (recently changed merc) & I used a str build. I was on 1v1 lb with a ratio of 80%. The good thing about the class is you have reroute. You also got field commander & atom smash to atom glass cannon builds.

berzeker is not quite powerful. It only does 50-60 damage a pop. Otherwise a block will happen. I remember back in delta I was spamming berzeker since I was a merc with atleast 70-80 damage.

Massacre.....No one hardly uses it now.

I could keep going on & on but If you don't like the class; why not change? I guess your a non-varium; that was a big mistake ....... if you was on my buddy list i would say you should've been a bounty hunter

I don't have anywhere near 50,000 credits to change my class, and yeah I'm a non-var. So I try and make the best of the class, but I do well as a Tank so I stick to that build but it gets boring after a while.
