^ that’s neat atually, CC doomknight would actually allow us to make “destiny knight”, be it just by making the colors seem less roomy
I’d prefer we get CC versions of more accessible classes first.

As for favorite skill, I like how corruption changes for each enemy type, and how the quotes reflect the effect it has. I also like how Malefic binding can ignore resistance for stunning

I doubt that DoomKnight will have a CC, atleast not in the near future. Also, it’s related to the concept of DOOM, so I doubt you’ll be able to use a CC version without the skills looking weird. I think that the team is prioritizing the other classes for CC first, because that way, new players would love to see their colour of choice for an armor they trained. DmK, however is not a trained armor, so I don’t think it will be CC. If it was so, it’s skills would have to be CC, too.

Also, as Occavatra says, DoomKnight is a delicate subject, and too much knocking on that door will just cause it to break.

I just keep knocking on the door because I want some contrivance to make it canon for the Hero to use the armor. I think that it would be a great way for those who've supported the game through this means to have a little icing on the cake.

I do agree that CC DmK would a nice reward, but I'm not getting into why DmK is never gonna be canon with you again, I've scared my dogs enough times.

Isn't DoomKnight being a class already the icing on the cake, though? The class and the equipment is a free gift that comes with the absurd mountain of DC's you buy. Also, if it needs a contrivance to be done, then it.... probably shouldn't be done. After all, "contrivance" in literature is the act of creating something in a way that isn't natural to the story, or just seems forced, and from a literary standpoint, it is widely agreed that using them is bad storytelling.

So, if DmK being canon needs contrivance, then it being canon would, at that point, be a detriment to what is otherwise a really good story.

Look, I know lots of people are interested in being a "good" Doomknight, or even ...**whispers**... a Destiny Knight.

But it is not going to happen. Canonically a Hero Doomknight doesn't even exist in-world, so in order to have a canon good version one first needs to introduce the canon bad version, which won't happen because Sepulchure is THE Doomknight. It would also create a half-dozen storytelling twists the devs would have to maneuver around, require extra work on something they said THEY DIDN'T WANT TO WORK ON ANYMORE, and all of that for a limited number of players anyway.

I know that people with the armour have shelled out pretty good cash, but the ship has sailed. The train has left the station. You paid, got a boatload of Dragon Coins, great gear, and THE STRONGEST CLASS IN THE GAME! I'm not unsympathetic to what you're saying, but the devs are not required or even obligated to add items to the purchase after you bought it.

Look, it would be cool to be a canonical Doomknight/Destiny Knight. But it's not going to happen. So we all need to accept that, and move on. This thread is already skating on rotten ice, and put a foot wrong and the whole thing goes down.

Sorry if this felt confrontational, that was not the intent. Let's move on to happier things.

All right, so why do you guys like the DoomKnight?

Me, because I like its colour scheme, it allows me to unofficially beat the IatEoT challenges until I find a “legitimate strategy”, and that it feels like the return gift for all the time you spent supporting the game.

Same, though I don't really use DmK on the inn challenges, with the exemption of the Squirrel and The Primordials.
(Also you are the only person I've seen that uses the PvP avatars on this site)

The PonyVSPony thing is because of a general lack of Blue Horses in the AE games. Also, I had a weird obsession of it back in, like fifth grade, so...

Also, yes, people will never understand. Just ignore it or report it to a mod if you REALLY get annoyed. Also, I only used DmK for the Primordials, too, but I’m working on SoulWeaver because, the Beautiful DoomKnight, is farr too overpowered. Just using Dark Ritual will kill most opponents, and if it doesn’t, Life Carve to heal and Blood Rite to damage are always at your disposal. Corruption is VERY good skill in that Malefic Binding may stun, life carve heals almost 900 at 85 levels and 200+ Endurance, and Shape Darkness... Oh, we don’t talk about shape darkness, especially not if you’ve been hit by it.

My favourite thing about both versions of doomknight is how powerful it is. But I did make an alternate character to practice non Dmk strategies. I guess I just like ruthlessly crushing everything in my way.

Plus I found that using DmK made every other class in the game feel useless and weak, which I suppose is the point. I guess that is how Sepulchure felt about us.

So I know I'm late to the party here and all but I'd like to express some of my own opinions of the DOOM knight if that's alright. Personally I'm ok with the changes that they've made to the armor since its release, its made it more balanced while still keeping a cool risk/reward factor by having heavy hitting moves and setups in exchange for some slightly longer cooldowns. The only problem I have with it is the fact that I cant regen mana with it like a pyromancer or dragonlord, dark favor has a nice powerboost but dying in three turns after using it seems to be more negative in certain boss fights (Just saying). The play of it feels like a really strong glass cannon that can still be really fun to play.

So I just finished having tea with Lynn Who we know officially know is Gravely, Seppy's daughter and I would just like to point out that we now have someone who is no longer tied to the Shadowscythe who is retaining some of their Doom Knight abilities. Meaning that all the arguments for Doom Knight not being able to be canon because it would corrupt us are pretty much null and void. Sure, it would hurt us in unfathomable ways, but that's what being a Hero is all about: we take the pain so others don't have to.

Will you give the canonization argument a rest. Doomknight, like the calendar classes and the Cysero shop classes, has never and will NEVER be canon to the Dragonfable. The class is a prize for supporting the game for 2 years as well as paying 4,0000 dragon coins. It’s there to be a powerful class and nothing else.

pls make it for future buyer's of Doomknight armor to get both version old and new or remove the old one so all will have only the new one it would be more fair

Mods have mentioned again and again, It will not happen. It is not entirely due to lore, it just won't happen. And even if this recent quest showed it can happen does not mean it will. The NBA can just decide to ban Steph Curry whenever they want, but will they? NO.

Again, Ash said before he left that DmK V1 will never be touched again, too big a can of worms. I know I would not be happy to suddenly lose it.

Those who would want to buy DmK in the future can still make the choice not to, if they do not want the new version. Those of us who got it prior to the new version did not have that choice. Why should we be punished for this?

As I see it, DmK V1 is the only DmK, and I did not spend money just to have it taken away.

Also, it really isn’t as much of a big deal if you don’t have V1. V2 is still the best non-rare armor. If you’re a reasonable, open-minded, insightful player, you’d understand by looking at this guide. Go through the skills, strategies and sections of the guide, come back and tell me it’s not worth it. (And don’t do it just for the sake of doing it, please, I know all of you are way better than that).

I don’t want to sound rude, so just imagine I’m a cute psychedelic horse running on a leprechaun rainbow while saying this: We’ve been told to cut it out by two ArchKnights on the same page, Ash, the dude who revamped it, and the developers who have all stated, wether once or multiple times, that DoomKnight V1 is a forbidden topic and no further changes shall be made to it unless absolutely, ABSOLUTELY mandatory. Which is probably never going to happen, like, ever.

Greyor_42 raised a valid point. According to what has been said, literally everything special and valuable, and available only at a specific time, would lose its value.

At this point, the Devs really can’t do anything without all sorts of negative criticism. Look, it’s their game in the end, and yes, a game is nothing without it’s players, but they’re not making you do despicable things like killing kittens or anything, so please stop. Just look at the Exosuit. The armor is one of the most OP armors there are, and people hated on it due to it’s design and recycled animations, yet there wasn’t as much criticism for the IBR, which uses the same animations for most moves (NOT THAT I’M ENCOURAGING THIS DISCUSSION IN ANY WAY. JUST STATING A FACT, HERE.) and the only thing it has in that sense over Exo is it’s beautiful design. At the least, Ash/Ashendal made us an armor that was very unique in it’s own right, but the hate it received made Ash feel bad, and he even said he’d never undertake such projects. Do you want a game you play’s developers to get discouraged from doing what they feel right? If you do, go play a sandbox game like Minecraft. But we need to stop this discussion immediately.

I know I went severely off topic to the point where I had to bring in Minecraft, and I’m sorry for that.

I am going to say this once, and only once.

Enough.

It has been explained, multiple times, why there are two versions of this armor. It has been explained equally as many times why Variant 1 is neither going to be removed from the inventories of the people who own it nor going to be given to people who buy the new version of the armor.

The complaints about the new version being weaker stop. The complaints about it being allegedly unfair that some people own Doom Knight Variant 1 and others do not stop. The off-topic comments and arguing stop.

The specific armor threads were created because forum members wanted to be able to talk about a class in its own thread without that discussion potentially being drowned out in the excitement of other classes being discussed. These types of threads are privileges, not rights.

You were given one final chance to continue the discussion in this thread. You were warned not to squander it, and did not heed that warning.

This thread is being locked, and I will in the future consider reopening it. If this type of behavior occurs in any of the other class threads, all of the specific class threads will follow suit. This is the last warning you are getting on this.
