Since the leaderboard is screwed, we might be able to introduce a ratings system. I actually devised a simple but fair, working one. It only works for Battle Royale (and duels, but people could duel themselves and gain high ratings). Basically, players start at a rating of 1000. If you win, you your rating increases by this amount: loser's rating divided by the winner's rating, squared, x100. If you lose, your rating decreases by using the same calculation In battle royale, the winner is obviously the person who won, and the loser is you, if you didn't win. If you did win, the loser will be the person in the pvp zone with the highest rating (obviously not including yourself, the winner). Study that sentence and it will make sense. for example, if a player of rating 2000 wins a battle royale with the highest rated player (not including the winner) being rated 1000: 1000/2000=0.5 0.5 squared = 0.25 0.25 x 100 = 25 winner's rating will go up by 25 that loser's rating will go down by 25 winner's new rating is 2025 that loser's new rating is 975 However, if it was the other way round and the 1000 rated player won: 2000/1000=2 2 squared = 4 4x100=400 that loser's rating will go down by 400 winner's new rating is 1400 loser's new rating is 1600 This system means that not many points are transferred for an expected win, but for a big upset, many points will be transferred, so using this, an accurate rating of a player's true skill can be created. It is very, very unlikely for a player of a truly accurate rating of 1000 to beat a player of a truly accurate rating of 2000, so you wouldn't really see 400 points being lost or gained very often. I was just using it as a simple example. There are a few other details including deflation and inflation, provisiuonal scores, quitters and stuff. Maybe with the new smashdome, something like this could be implemented. It would be much easier to do with duels though, rather than battle royale. This is not a suggestion, merely an idea that I wanted to share. Hey, randor, this is a question from a friend, shadow moolights: Can we replace the top 5 NPCs after it's released, if we get into the top 5?
