Hey, just got directed here with regards to an issue I'm having with the forum. In a nutshell, the Save as Cookie option doesn't seem to work. I'm wondering if it's glitched ... I click to save my login as a cookie but get auto-logged out anyway. :/

Could someone maybe check this to make sure?

 What browser do you use?
With IE10 you need to add http://forums2.battleon.com to the compatibility list. You might also need to allow blocked content from this site too.

In general, make sure your browser is not in Private/Incognito mode which forbid a site to save any info to the host machine.

Hey Niki, thanks for the quick reply and sorry I didn't reply back right away.

I use Mozilla Firefox (most recent as far as I know), never visit using the private browsing option. How can I go about finding out about the blocked content to check it?

Thanks Death Lord, know how to do all that already, though. Mine is set to remember the history and already keeps cookies automatically so ... it unfortunately didn't help me out. :(

How would I go about checking the blocked content to be able to allow content from the forums? Not seeing anything in the privacy options about blocked content. :/

Thanks Death Lord, that's more for pop-ups though ... so that doesn't help either sadly. :(

Thinking it's something to do with the forum ... so I'm thinking someone needs to check on that.

I use Mozilla Firefox and I don't have an issue, so it doesn't appear to be something universal with either the Forum or Firefox...

It's possible your saved cookie for the forums got corrupted; I've had issues with sites before where that has happened. Go Tools -> Options -> Privacy and then click the link about halfway down the pop-up menu for removing individual cookies. Remove the cookies relating to forums2.battleon.com (they should be together in a folder named forums2.battleon.com). Then close your browser and try again. You may also have to consider clearing your cache, but I'd try to remove the individual cookies first.

As a last resort, you can try to do a complete flush of all your cache and cookies, but that will remove cookies you have for other sites and may cause you more issues then it solves...

Hey Seahawk, thanks for the tip and detailed instructions on doing that, appreciate it! :)

Well ... only time will tell if it worked (after I have dinner and spend some family time), if not I'll try the other things you mentioned. Think I know how to clear my cache (that's the History -> Clear Recent History) ... may need more detailed info on the complete flush, don't believe I've done that (unless that's the same as clearing cache, History -> Clear Recent History).

Thanks again, appreciate all the help from everyone! Will edit/post afterwards with an update.

Edit: Well ... still nothing. I'm still having to login after being absent for any sort of length. :(
I'll try clearing my cache, hopefully that works, if not I'll need a detailed explanation on the complete flush.

Edit: Have tried clearing cache now, let's see if that works ... if not, will edit with update.

P.S.
Just outta curiosity, seeing as this is the sub-forum for the forums (I won't post a new thread, just a waste) ... with all the updates and such to the forums, has the length for usernames increased by chance?? Wondering cause I would prefer my forum name be the same as my actual AQ character (with the Lord at the end) ... when I joined up I had to cut off the end so I could register. I asked about maybe having my name changed but I guess it wasn't possible at that time because of the length limits (think it was this forum and that was the reason given).
