Basically, that is simply stating the date that the copyright is being claimed from, so any work stolen after that date is going to be an infringement on the copyright. If you see any game, even old Pokemon games, they will have the copyright from the year that it was published, likely even from before, but this does not mean the copyright does not stand, simply that is the date that the particular copyright is from. With the bits that give two years, that simply is that if significant changes take place and a new copyright claim needs to be established, an additional date is listed to note the that this has been done - it may also show the dates in which copyrights have been established in between, showing that multiple have been taken out in between this time period. So simply to put it, the date is simply when the copyright was taken out and stands from, it is stated so the users are aware of this.
