I think something needs to be done with the 10 buddies-only system.
I've played since early beta up till early delta up to now, and I don't even know if you can upgrade it with varium - lol.
But, even if so, I think it's a turnoff with new players that they can only have 10 friends.

Yes? And what about it - you want 20 buddies limit? With more players who have joined since Beta until now, it costs server space. Expanding it isn't really needed, for free that is, hence why you have Varium option - server upkeep costs money, and so does Varium, so it's fair. All AE Games work in such way too.

Lol.
It actually wouldn't use much server space at all, but I guess you're right, the servers are already lacking..

If it haven't used that much server space, the default value wouldn't have went down from 20 to 10 (IIRC). Likewise with the Inventory + Bank System recently.

10 more buddies wouldn't be noticeable to server related issues.
The only reason I can see that happening, is money-intake for the staff.

And if that's true, does EpicDuel use a bad computer for their hosting or what?
I can host a game with as much data as EpicDuel on my computer and have better systems lagfree.

10 more buddies for hundreds of thousands of accounts in ED. It'd affect everyone, since they would get +10 slots bonus on top of their current ones (including purchased).

No, they don't use a bad computer. Server hosting is expensive, and there's no reason to have minor feature clutter database space, when you can expand it with Varium. It's there for a reason. AQW works in the same way - very little slots and Bank space, especially since their "latest" update to it, which has lowered the amount for newer players. Does that mean AQW uses a bad computer too, or tries to cut down the server costs, which are already high enough?

Lol.
Hundreds of thousands? you're thinking a little too high, this would only affect the players that are online.
Oh, and they're currently only using 1-2 servers as I can see, and I've seen better servers on low-profit games.

No. The change will affects every single player in ED, not "online players". There is no excluding players based on their activity, because that means some players would miss out on it for no reason or whatsoever. <.< I'm not sure if ED hasn't went into at least a million of players (total). AQW has hit it years ago, so I wouldn't be surprised.

Only because online player count is low, that doesn't make the total playerbase miniscule.

You realize server data only comes from online players right?.
And nah, I doubt ED is anywhere near the million.
