It is as Lemonus said, The Dark I is currently in the works and is slated for release on the 25th of this month. All discussion up till now has been with regards to this very game and you can ask if you want to know anything specific.

What is The Dark's opinion on ponies?

Kidding. Though I would like to know the sort of direction you imagine for The Dark to see if our visions mesh well. And answer that question too

Arthur, a Drain Conduit would probably absorb water drains and such. Which actually sounds kind of interesting now... Anyways, Drain & its related abilities involves manipulating one's element. So Radar Sense allows you to detect nearby sources of your element, Charge allows you to well charge something that uses your element (Overcharge is filling said thing with so much energy it explodes), Energy Launch is using sources of your energy to perform super jumps and short-lived dashes, and so on. The name for the ability group probably needs to be changed to something more broad, but Drain works for now.

So how many installments of The Dark do you have in mind?

@Kyle, The Dark does watch MLP when It's free.

Also, I've posted a sum of my thoughts of The Dark in nunerous posts before so you can check out if it matches your idea better.

@Kkut, My knowledge is limited to iF:SS so that's all I can tell you. Does the Drain Ability actually exist?

Also, I have thought of 3 installments so far,

The Dark I
The Dark II
The Dark: H(a)unted which is a different storyline with new characters.

Well, like I said, way I see The Dark is sort of like this:

Basically, it's a malevolent entity that feeds on fear, but over the aeons it's sort of mellowed out a bit from the age old monster it once was. It got a appreciation for cliches and classics, likes to have fun with it's food (though the food does not find it fun) watches MLP on it's off days and generally is about as affable as a being of evil can be.

Thing is, it STILL feeds on fear. It still is evil. It still likes tormenting people by scares. And the reason it likes toying people is also party because the more fear they have the better the food. Like if it's only slightly scared it's like beef jerky, but if it's utterly terrified it's like Filet Mignon. And it likes Filet Mignon a lot.

Also, the longer you survive, the more dedicated it becomes to ending you. And if you live to The Dark 2, it's gonna just cut the nonsense and try to kill you the instant you enter the building.

NOONE escapes The Dark twice.

It prides itself on it's record see.

No way.

The Dark is actually misunderstood, it's actually pretty cool when you get to know him. You know, it's only eating your mind because it has to, it's not like he wished to be born a fear-sustained freak, it actually likes to try out things like beef steaks, burgers but noooo it HAD to be hurt by light. It wants to have an agreement with the 'amazing scientists' as it calls them, to help it alter his being so it can be a free man/woman/thing/whatever, unaffected by light and can now make the friends it always wanted it's whole life like the kids it sees in school, that's why it's both happy and depressed when we came by because it wanted to make friends but also has to sustain itself. It's a tough living :(

Near the end, it's gonna apologize and explain it's situation to you, and whether you decide to kill it or not it'll accept it.

And MegaKyle, I know the secret of NINJA TEXT!

Drain is indeed an official ability, since Conduits have to drain their respective element to power their more advanced moves. Energy Launch is designed as a kind of Car Jump/Ice Launch thing, Radar Sense was an ability Cole had (all drainable sources are already present on the map for Second Son), and Imbue is basically a Miscellaneous tab (to include abilities such as Kinetic Pulse, Lightning Tether/Hook, or Invisibility's Summon Wingman effect among others). So have you played Second Son or just going off stuff you read?

Actually, since Megakyle mentioned it are there other beings of mega-evil like The Dark and if there are how much do they interact and/or know each other? Cause any self-respecting bad guy doesn't let people get away, and if there are "rivals" or such that could be a problem for The Dark that's even more reason for it to hate people getting away.

The way I see it, The Entities Of Evil are good friends and have a union. There's some friendly rivalry in the terms of Failure Rate however. The Dark prides itself on a 0.4% failure rate, the lowest of the bunch so far. That Cthluhu fellow is just poised to take the spot with a 0.6% one however, and there's no way he's gonna lose it to a mass of tentacles.

@Lemonus and Kyle, that's a seriously twisted personality for a dark being to have, don't you guys think?

I'll also be putting a number of Side Missions all over the school building that you can choose to trigger should you stumble upon them. Here's a list:

Room No. 13
The Forbidden Fourth Floor
The Noisy Basement
The Phantom Football Game
The Second Floor Girl's Washroom.
The Locker with Cthulu Stickers
The Swimming Pool After Midnight
The Library: Kids Section

None of this stuff is affected or influenced by The Dark. They are separately haunted locations.

I think a being of Darkness by the standards of humanity would be pretty twisted anyway. And I thik the whole tastes better when they are more scared thing is good at least. But yeah, i intend to have as much fun as I can have with the thing.

And there are other haunted places not affected by The Dark huh? Interesting...

Is it run by The Dark's rivals? Should it stay clear? Can it not enter there?

Yeah, you also get rewards if you complete them.

Does anyone have any more suggestions for the Side Missions? Go Wild and Scary with your imagination.

Maybe collecting diary entries from a person who had an encounter with the Dark before? You know, the classics!

I think those a decent set of side missions honestly. I'd give a few more, but you don't want the entire uni becoming one side mission that has no The Dark.

Lemonus: That's a good one.

Lemonus, that sounds cool. I think that should go in-game.

Kyle, I agree with your view as well. Now I gotta work out how to deepen these missions, yet keep 'em shallow so as not to disturb the game too much.

Also, an even amount of spacing is required between the missions.

How about each mission gives you some info about The Dark?

I like that idea. And a tool to help you survive it. Not win, survive.

. The first mission however should give the info that The Dark watches MLP on the days off rather then anything useful.

Remember to ask for Cthulu's help in trying to take down The Dark.

How about the whether you get info or not depending on your actions on each mission? Do we get an incantation that can summon Cthulhu from the depths? :p

And meggky, I sent you a PM

I would advise against that. Cthluhu is about as friendly as I am. And he's not likely to let you escape either. A escape from him is also a addition to his failure rate too after all.

Hmm... I guess we shouldn't add too many choices in-game lest it become confusing, Lemonus. Completion will guarantee us information.

Yeah, there will be a short mission regarding Cthulu titled 'The LOL of Cthulu'.

Ah, good old Cthluhu. I remember that one time we went to Japan, and he MAY have started a thing. You know what thing.

Anyway, if he comes slitering around to try and ruin my nigh perfect record I'm gonna be mad.

Anyway, does the food want to introduce itself?

I meant what are their characters like?

Now now Arthur, no need for that. This is the OOC for Dark I, they are perfectly safe here and I see no reason why in this place I cannot be civil. I just want to see what they are like. Get to know the people I will DEVOUR WHOLE in the game proper.

(Note: If you want me to stop just say)

Yeah, it's getting kinda creepy.

Just to be sure, how detailed do you want your updates?

I can make them as detailed as I want so you guys enjoy posting BUT considering how I want this to be a plain horror classic with an emphasis on 'scary', I plan on being minimalistic.

Let me know?

Awww, but I was having fun.

I'd say make them detailed to a degree, but not too much.
