In DF: A pet does not make the enemy harder. A guest makes the enemy harder. Is difference.
(Guests have their own hp, mp, relatively strong attacks, and usually abilities.)


Is there any easier place than Solace to find Thok? I've fought enough monsters to go from level 6 to 8. Am kinda bored. This is the last thing I need to do.

Thanks bro, I am glad you helped me on that statement above. I guess I will have to make more gold to buy the Tiger pet.

Solace or Wolfy Inn is the only two places I know Thok respawns around every 10 - 15 refresh's or battles. Depends on luck but he's NOT hard to find/kill & capture, I got him in my first try in Solace. Gl!

DF:
Um, the pridelion isn't worth it (1-16 damage for 16K gold.) Get the ancestral boar spirit, it does bacon. And 4-14 damage. Much higher base attack and lower price (700 gold).)
here, pet encyclopedia. Also lists guests. It will tell you which is which. DAs get better ones, but I reccomend doing Sneevil Fort until you get a Royal Penguin Shrink Ray (1% drop) or two (this is kinda difficult as the quests that drop it drop LOTS of other things.). Merge it with Linus to get a Linus that can shrink your opponent. Or doing Ballyhoo til you get 45 DCs.
If you want a light weapon, here, weapons sorted by power, find your class and the element you want. Read the first post as it gives you the format.

OS: Another level, no Thok. Many fire witches and frogzards, though. Today it's almost all skeletons. Earlier it was all water fairy.
Am enjoying myself, and considering switching to the fire witch. Cause, you know, she sets people on fire. Or one of my ice characters.

why do fire witches have an attack that does 1K damage?

so how do you get cards in OS? 15k gold seems too high, so i need to buy oversouls?

kaziboca: Each monster captured (possessed) comes with a certain set of cards.
If you want to add cards, either earn 15K gold or spend a certain amount of Soul Gems.
You start out with a specific monster (that you chose.)

Is anyone having trouble with OS running slowly? I mean really slowly, with the character icons not loading, and not being able to talk, fight, or switch characters.

yea it helps. the fastest way to earn gold is farming trash mobs?

im askng because the omniblade character has 3 moves that im assuming you need to get other cards to make valuable. the 3 10 power cards

The servers are indeed down. I can't even look my own AQW character's profile page without experiencing an unsolicited disconnection.
Oh well, looks I'll have to wait a while with you guys until AE resolve the connectivity issues.

In the meantime, aren't you all glad that ever since this Artix Entertainment Omni-verse release, OS has seen more players online in the last day or so,
than it has in the last 6 months?
It almost brings a smile to my face to see OS so alive... in what has only been too long. Unfortunately, the players we see online now might go dormant again
after obtaining the Omni Knight reward, but in any case I hope they would be here to stay!

I wish they had it as a set amount of wins like in EpicDuel, which some people called hard to do.
Random monster is like getting stabbed in the eye every time it's NOT Thok.

@Kaizoku: Actually, that would be arguable because OverSoul's gameplay is something resembling that of Pokemon. You have a designated zone with a pool of possible characters, and you'd be hoping the RNG would be favouring you to find the characters you desire. It's not a PvP kill-count contest like EpicDuel (as a lvl 33 Tech Mage, I'm a position to say
I've had more than my fair share of that), but a hunt for rare and uncommon souls throughout the known world. It all depends on where you happen to be hunting. When hunting one thing, you might stumble upon a prize find far more valuable... and lethal.

Consider it already quite merciful that Nulgath placed Thok in Solace City (which is populated by low skill Apprentice-ranked AI characters) rather than solely in the wild where the monster pool is much MUCH larger and variable. Nulgath is kind!

I just don't see the benefits of RNG at all. Sure the satisfaction might be great, but if every large accomplishment is dependant on luck, people will have VERY different rarities for stuff.
Grinding, while still annoying, has a set goal. If I was told I'd get Thok for SURE if I killed 1000 witches, I'd do that. I'm probably not being very constructive about this...

@Kaizoku: Ah, that's alright! Everyone's entitled to their own opinions no? For one, I failed the Thok capture FOUR times before capturing him successfully. So in my case I was cursing whoever caught him on the first go :P
If you haven't caught him yet, best of luck! Take Cub3's advice if you want to quickly locate Thok without having to go through the pain of slaughtering the character you encountered repeatedly. The log-in cycle farming method is used by all OS players to try and maximise the efficiency of finding rare spawns. But if you do insist on continuing to kill the spawns (which I did), it pays well with XP points and lurvely monies.
