(This is completely subject to change, but it's a concept that I'm REALLY wanting to go with. I feel like this could be a good start to a story that follows along two well known characters. I plan on having Artix in every other chapter and Gravelyn in the others (this way it tells both sides of the stories). I also plan on extending the prologue later on, but I want to save room for new ideas. This goes by most of the guide lines in AQW lore but I occasionally add something unnoticeable in. Anyhow, enough rambling. I hope you enjoy and follow what's next!)). Prologue - Artix grabbed the hilt of the Blinding Light of Destiny and pulled up even to his waist as the undead grew closer to his position, coming in on all directions. Even though the circumstances weren't up to par, Artix was more worried about his food coming up from the hour before due to the encumbering smell of rotting flesh than the oncoming horde of undead that was proceeding to end his holy existence, granted the past few months haven't been some of his proudest, but his recent actions had remained a secret that only him and Warlic possessed. Artix glanced around the barren wasteland, Sandsea, to search for some sort of advantage point but nothing seemed promising enough to peruse, so he maintained his position, knowing that this could very well be the end. The surrounding horde of undead was now only yards away, but Artix still stood at the ready, preparing for his life to end or for him to plow through the horde successfully which was highly unlikely. The first victim of Artix was a 6'9 skeleton wielding an iron war hammer. It charged directly at Artix while bringing its war hammer over its head, then swinging downwards on Artix with the best of its capabilities. Artix quickly dropped to his knees and put the Blinding Light of Destiny between him and the Undead, successfully blocking the attack. Before the Undead could draw his war hammer again, Artix quickly spun around with the Blinding Light of Destiny, striking the Undead's stomach, causing it to crumble to the ground. Nothing but a pile of bones and dust remained Another Undead, this time with some of its flesh still intact on its jaw bone, slowly emerged from the crowd of Undead andwalked up to Artix. Rather than the other members of the Undead walking up to assist, they quickly gathered around to watch the battle unfold. The oncoming Undead stood about 10'1, nearly double the size of Artix. The Undead member wielded a luminescent blue great sword that is nearly as large as Artix, stained with blood, and looks as if it surges with electricity. Artix stumbled back a bit before remembering that size doesn't matter in AQW (that wasn't originally going to be implemented in this story, but I had to do it ;p). Artix charged towards the undead and leaped in the air, bringing the Blinding Light of Destiny above his head and bringing it downwards on the Undead. The Undead quickly moved out of the way and hit Artix in his back with its sword, causing him to flail forward helplessly until hitting the hard sandy ground face first. Artix made an attempt to rise back to his feet but they felt week, as if they were broken in half. Artix yelped in pain as he tried to stand for a second time. The Undead began to walk towards Artix slowly while chuckling. "Why even try, Paladin? Why not hand over your head with ease rather than putting up a pointless fight like this?" Artix couldn't catch his breath to speak due to the overwhelming amount of pain he felt, but he managed to speak one word, "Gravelyn..." Signature removed.
