Yeah, Void Incarnate has 4 Sacrifices so it can win fast at low levels through attack combos with low energy costs. Note however that its 3 Life Drains essentially balance out the energy saved by 3 of its 4 Sacrifices (a Life Drain and a Sacrifice have the same effect as two 500's), but the fact that 12 of VI's 15 cards are attack cards makes combos very likely. Low-levels also aren't necessarily the way to go though as the DFR bosses can be just as nasty with a little energy as with a lot and get a first turn head start with which to use cards like its 800-attack for 2 energy and its 500-attack for 1 (it could be unpleasant to refresh farm with a Level 1 VI for 5+ hours only to be hit for anywhere between 1600-2150 damage on turn 1). It'd be much more frustrating if your only motivation was to capture DFR, so if you can look for other characters simultaneously or level while you're at it that could help. I've found mid-to-high levels give a bit more control although you have to find ways to compensate for your efficiency disadvantage. The +10 charge cards (Neutralize, Energize, and Fresh Start), Iron Hide, Charged/SuperCharged, stun cards as part of a finishing sequence (so they can't access their gained energy), and a CC'd Neutral 515/525 to make use of the idle energy on non-Neutrals can all be good ways of doing that. You can potentially pull it off with a decent number of different characters while levelling if you get lucky. By the same coin, potentially anything can fail you if you get unlucky since the bosses have better decks than anything available and the AI has to make enough mistakes. If you have any of Volt Engineer, Tyrant Moose, Soul Wyvern, or Void Rebirth then I'd recommend one of those (if not it could be worth acquiring one before DFR). Great Pumpking and Queen Aegea would also be especially effective but are significantly harder to obtain. Monk is another good choice as you'd mentioned, and Thok could work too but at low-levels its Corruption wouldn't have as much of a chance to run its course. Note that Neutral characters are significantly better with a full clip of Iron Hide/Corruption CC's, generally three of one and two of the other, so if you don't have access to them it could be better to use something else. The characters least dependent on CC's tend to be Energy, Ice, and dual-elemental characters.
