Ascended Chickencow Questions and Answers[QA]

What is Ascended Chickencow?

Ascended Chickencow armor is pretty much the ultimate form of Chickencow armor. It is a powerful Tier 3 class released on April 1st, 2015.

How do I obtain it?

You have two ways to obtain Ascended Chickencow.

Purchase It: Go to the Book 3 Travel Griffin, select the Ovungu Zoyo region and go to Mootopolis. Then go to Arester and click "Ascended ChickenCow!". There will be the option to Earn It or to Purchase It. Click on "Purchase It". This will open the Ascendant CC DC shop. You can then buy the Ascended Chickencow Armor for 1800 Dragon Coins, like other DC Tier 3 armors. This version of the armor does not require a Dragon Amulet.

Earn It: Go to the Book 3 Travel Griffin, select the Ovungu Zoyo region and go to Mootopolis. Then go to Arester and click "Ascended ChickenCow!". There will be the option to Earn It or to Purchase It. Click on "Earn It". Warning! The earned version of the armor you can buy by doing this is for Dragon Amulets only. There are non-DA items in the shop in the end, but the armor itself is DA-only. You can click "I can't do it..." once you take on the challenge to go back to the Purchase It way.

If you choose the Earn It way, you will first have to give Arester the Perfect Slice of Bacon. This can be bought in San Robin's shop, in Falconreach's Inn, for 1337 gold. (Don't even ask why San Robin carries and sells perfect slices of bacon.)

Then you have to pass the Challenge of Moocluckles. In this quest, you are locked into the ChickenCow armor. You will need to defeat the Raging Boar, the Somean Lion, the Gilded Hindeer, the Hydra, the Medewwsa, the Tauros, the Grrberus and, finally, the Shade of Death. Strong light/fire/water weapons and good health potion training are recommended for this challenge. If you have any weapon that has a chance of healing you on hit (like the Frost Dragon Head series), use it! It will work wonders with Mad Chickencow attack. If you have an Escelense weapon and Dragonblaser, use them on Hydra and Medewwsa: it will literally kill them in one single turn.

Once the challenge is completed, you will have to give Arester the ChickenCow armor and Evolved Chickencow armor. Be warned! Once you give him those armors, you don't have them anymore! After this last task, you will finally be able to access the Ascendant CC shop. You will be able to buy Ascended Chickencow armor for 50,000 gold.

Are there any differences between the Earned and Purchased versions of Ascended Chickencow?

Not at all. The skillset is exactly the same. The only difference is the Purchased version can be used by non-DAs.

The armor looks very tall and its fist doesn't look to hold the weapon. Is it normal?

Yes. The following conversation between Cronix, who made Ascended Chickencow's art, and a player, explains why:
quote:

@CronixAE Is ACC's art ever going to be adjusted? We have our bodies showing in dialogue cutscenes. Not our heads. We're huge! LOL!
@DarknessOfLore I don't think so. I wanted to a make huge body instead of normal one. You are a god in this form ( originally )
@CronixAE Seriously awesome! About ACC... Can it be adjusted to hold weapons correctly? Or was it designed just for ascended spear?
@CronixAE Notice how the hand doesn't grip the weapon quite right? It looks like the weapon is just behind our hand. pic.twitter.com/IIkBwWCW7Z
@DarknessOfLore I see, hmmm I can only replace layers and move weapon over character's hand
DarknessOfLore It will be like this http://prntscr.com/6qv5i0

Can I save Ascended Chickencow?

Yes! Now you can save Ascended Chickencow!

Ascended Chickencow seems to get stuck in a lot of places... why?

Yep, it unfortunately does. It's a known issue. It's not the only class to have that problem (I got stuck multiple times using, as examples, Pyromancer and Icebound Revenant). If you have the class equipped, unequip it and then try to move.

Why are Ascended Chickencow's mana costs super high?

Ascended Chickencow has a great damage output (one of the best in the game) and relatively short cooldowns. The mana costs skyrocketed to compensate for this. That's why you really should consider not using it before level 40: at lower levels, your mana pool will just not be enough to use the class properly.

Matching Equipment[ME]

Weapons

Helms

Note: The Mootopolis's barber, Xaver, has a unique collection of luminous hairstyles that go very well with the armor. If you have a Dragon Amulet, you can even equip your helmet and Hide it to look awesome with your awesome luminous hair and have good stats!

Capes and wings

Useful weapons to have with Ascended Chickencow

Ascended Chickencow, like the other Chickencow classes, has some skills that hit multiple times (examples: Wrath of the ChickenCow, Summon Arester and Ascendant Strike). The following weapons have a chance to heal you on-hit, so they will definitely be great with these multi-hit attacks.

Note that Blade of Awe and Warlic's Staff are optimal with this class, as they have a on-hit chance to regenerate MP (Blade of Awe's regeneration skill heals 4% HP and 4% MP while Warlic's Staff's regeneration skill heals ~15% MP). Due to the very high mana costs of Ascended ChickenCow's skills, these weapons can replace the mana regeneration skill it lacks and, by sustaining your mana pool, give you a better long-term survivability!

Stat Builds[SB]

Standard
This build has a great offensive power as well as a good health and mana pool. It will last longer than the Annihilator Chicken build.

Level 10
STR/INT/DEX: 20
WIS: 25

Level 20
STR/INT/DEX: 50
END: 10
WIS: 35

Level 30
STR/INT/DEX: 70
END: 20
WIS: 55

Level 40
STR/INT/DEX: 100
END: 30
WIS: 65

Level 50
STR/INT/DEX: 130
END: 40
WIS: 75

Level 60
STR/INT/DEX: 150
END: 60
WIS: 85

Level 70
STR/INT/DEX: 200
END: 60
WIS: 85

Level 80
STR/INT/DEX: 200
END: 60
WIS: 135

Annihilator Chicken
Super mega ultra destructive power! You'll pack a punch with this build. However, it lacks a good mana pool, so you will run out of mana very, very quickly. This one is not recommended for lower levels, because you'll just run out of mana too quickly to optimally use this class.

Level 10
STR/INT/DEX: 40
WIS: 5

Level 20
STR/INT/DEX: 80
WIS: 15

Level 30
STR/INT/DEX: 120
WIS: 25

Level 40
STR/INT/DEX: 140
WIS: 55

Level 50
STR/INT/DEX: 180
WIS: 65

Level 60
STR/INT/DEX: 200
WIS: 75
LUK: 20

Level 70
STR/INT/DEX: 200
WIS: 75
LUK: 70

Level 80
STR/INT/DEX: 200
WIS: 75
LUK: 120

Note: I only have offensive builds there because Ascended Chickencow, having good healing moves, blind and shield, does not need a lot of END to survive. It does need WIS though, as the class drains a lot of mana for its bursts. I do not recommend using it for longer quests like the Neverglades. As stated in the armor description, in-game, it's preferable to use this at level 40 or above. Lower levels characters will run out of mana very quickly!

Class Abilities[CA]

Ascendant Strike
Unleash your power!
Effect: Strikes one target 6 times, each hit doing 55% damage, for 330% total damage
Mana Cost: 55
Cooldown: 9
Element: Weapon's element
Attack Type: As weapon
Skill commentary: This is one of Ascended Chickencow's three most powerful burst moves. You can use it to destroy foes with low HP or combine it with Summon Archimoodes to inflict even more massive damage! Careful though, it is very mana hungry, so use it only it your foe's HP justifies it.

Summon Archimoodes
Increase your Damage and BtH!
Effect: Summons Archimoodes to boost your damage by 35% and Bonus by 20 for 5 turns, as you hit once for 100% damage
Mana Cost: 28
Cooldown: 8
Element: Weapon's element
Attack Type: As weapon
Skill commentary: An absolute must for the longer fights. You won't need it for foes with low HP, but against foes with high HP or bosses, use it whenever you can! To maximize your damage and chance to hit, use it before everything else at the beginning of the battle (unless you are against a foe with high damage, in which case you might like to Shield yourself / Blind foe at the beginning of the battle).

Wrath of the ChickenCow
Unleash your wrath on your foe!
Effect: Hits one target 11 times, each hit doing 30% damage, for a total of 330% damage
Mana Cost: 30
Cooldown: 4
Element: Weapon's element
Attack Type: As weapon
Skill commentary: An iconic skill of the Chickencow series, it once again proves its usefulness. Not only is it one of Ascended Chickencow's three most powerful burst moves, it's also (and by far) the skill that hits the most times. Combined with one of the weapons that can heal you on-hit (see Useful Weapons to have with Ascended Chickencow, in Matching Equipment), this skill will not only inflict awesome damage, but have a 43% chance to heal 5% of your HP at least once. Even without a healing weapon, it's still one of your best skills, and its cooldown is even less than half of Ascendant Strike's, so be assured to use it whenever you can! Its number of hits will also be useful against foes with high defences: you will have higher chances of hitting them.

Eggteor Barrage
Summon Eggteors to hit all foes!
Effect: Eggteors fall and hit all targets for 180% damage
Mana Cost: 25
Cooldown: 1
Element: Weapon's element
Attack Type: As weapon
Skill commentary: A very useful multi. Not only is it useful against multiple foes, it also has very good damage and a very low cooldown that makes it semi-spammable. Against multiple foes with high HP, combine it with Summon Archimoodes to inflict 243% damage on everything standing your way!

Keelia's Ultra Fried Cow
Trample your foe!
Effect: A cattle of cows run past you as you blow a blowhorn, and trample one target for 140% damage, with a chance to stun for 3 turns
Mana Cost: 45
Cooldown: 12
Element: Weapon's element
Attack Type: As weapon
Skill commentary: It's a stun. If you need to stun enemies, use this. Always check your enemy's Immobility resistance before stunning though - if it's 50 or higher, it may be very risky to use this skill.

Feather Bomb
Chicken Explosion
Effect: You run towards one target, and deal one hit for 170% damage
Mana Cost: 20
Cooldown: 1
Element: Weapon's element
Attack Type: As weapon
Skill commentary: A good semi-spammable skill with decent damage. The mana cost is a bit high though. You probably won't have to use it in short fights, but in longer fights it may prove useful when everything else is on cooldown.

Dance of Protection
Super Chicken Dance of Defense
Effect: Increases your Magic/Pierce/Melee defenses by 140 for 3 turns
Mana Cost: 30
Cooldown: 9
Element: N/A
Attack Type: N/A
Skill commentary: An excellent shield that will override enemy's Bonus to Hit and make you virtually untouchable for 3 turns. (unless said enemy is like Doctor When, with crazy Bonus to Hit that will always override your defence) If you ever need defence, this is more reliable than the Blind.

Attack
Effect: Runs towards the enemy and hits twice for 140% total damage
Mana Cost: 0
Cooldown: 0
Element: Weapon's element
Attack Type: As weapon
Skill commentary: You won't have to use this in short fights, unless your MP is running short. 140% damage, however, is very decent for a basic Attack.

Chicken Blasters
Burn your foe with some spicy wings!
Effect: Blasts one target with fire, doing 5 hits of 40% Fire damage for 200% damage, and inflicts 'Spicy Wings' status effect for 50% Fire weapon damage for 2 turns
Mana Cost: 32
Cooldown: 7
Element: Fire
Attack Type: As weapon
Skill commentary: The elemental lock of this skill is compensated by the great amount of damage it does - 300% in 3 turns. If your enemy has a weakness to Fire, it'll do even more damage. When your burst skills are on cooldown, you may like this as it inflicts more damage than Feather Bomb or Eggteor Barrage. Always check your enemy's Fire resistance though before using this - you don't want to heal your foe!

Egg of Mystery
Summon an egg to lower foes damage!
Effect: A large egg lands on your target for one hit of 160% damage and reduces Boost by 35% for 4 turns
Mana Cost: 30
Cooldown: 7
Element: Weapon's element
Attack Type: As weapon
Skill commentary: You won't use this often, save in boss fights. It may prove useful against bosses like Doctor When though - as you can't Shield yourself or Blind him, reducing his damage is the only viable solution. If the boss you're fighting is charging up for a Nuke and your Blind/Shield are on cooldown, this will be your best alternative for minimizing its damage.

Blueberry Cowpie
This pie is beyond all sight!
Effect: A large blueberry pie appears behind your target, then bursts, dealing one hit of 115% damage and reduces Bonus by 55 for 3 turns
Mana Cost: 36
Cooldown: 7
Element: Weapon's element
Attack Type: As weapon
Skill commentary: Very useful skill. When facing a single enemy with a regular Bonus to Hit, you can use it with Shield to be protected for 6 turns. With Ascended Chickencow's burst skills, 6 turns will be more than enough to kill the vast majority of enemies. Careful though, even with -55 BtH, your foe still has a small chance of hitting you! The class's Shield is more reliable in terms of protection.

LactoSea
Summon a wave of healing milk!
Effect: Calls forth a wave of milk on one target for 3 hits of 40% damage for 120% total damage, and heals 5% of your maximum HP with each successful hit
Mana Cost: 40
Cooldown: 9
Element: Weapon's element
Attack Type: As weapon
Skill commentary: A very decent heal with decent damage. Use this whenever you need healing. To optimize your chance to hit all three times and heal for 15% HP, combine this with Chickalf Horde.

Chickcalf Horde
For the horde!
Effect: You call a horde of chickcalves with a blowhorn, and deal 5 hits of 26% damage for 130% total damage. Your target's M/P/M defenses are reduced by 55 for five turns
Mana Cost: 28
Cooldown: 8
Element: Weapon's element
Attack Type: As weapon
Skill commentary: You will almost never need this skill, save against bosses with shields, in which case this becomes a very useful skill. It's also useful if you really want a hit to connect (example: when using LactoSea).

Righteous Retreat!
I must leave! My people need me!
Effect: Immediately takes you out of a battle, and brings your HP down to 1
Mana Cost: 0
Cooldown: N/A
Element: N/A
Attack Type: N/A
Skill commentary: Fleeing is one of Chickencow's thematic skills. However, as you can guess, you should never use this. Be very careful not to click on it by accident!

Summon Arester
Who dares call upon Arester?!
Effect: You summon Arester with a blowhorn, then strikes with his spear for one hit of 40% damage followed by a beam of light for five more hits of 40% damage for 240% damage, with 100% Crit rate for 480% total damage.
Mana Cost: 55
Cooldown: 15
Element: Weapon's element
Attack Type: As weapon
Skill commentary: This is the most powerful of Ascended Chickencow's burst moves. 480% damage is very, very destructive. Foes with low HP won't even stand a chance against this. If your enemy has high HP, combine this with Summon Archimoodes to inflict even more massive damage. Careful though, it is very mana hungry, so use it only it your foe's HP justifies it. (or just if you want to feel supra-powerful by repeatedly calling a god.)

Battle Strategies[BS]

Vs. 1 (low health): Wrath of the ChickenCow --> Summon Arester --> Ascendant Strike
Vs. 1 (high health): Wrath of the Chickencow --> Summon Archimoodes --> Chicken Blasters --> Ascendant Strike --> Summon Arester --> Wrath of the ChickenCow --> Feather Bomb
Vs. 2 or 3 (low health): Eggteor Barrage --> Any offensive burst to defeat remaining enemies
Vs. 2 or 3 (high health): Summon Archimoodes --> Eggteor Barrage --> Any offensive burst to defeat remaining enemies
Vs. Boss: Blueberry Cowpie --> Wrath of the ChickenCow --> Chicken Blasters --> Dance of Protection --> Summon Archimoodes --> Ascendant Strike --> Keelia's Ultra Fried Cows --> Wrath of the ChickenCow --> Summon Arester --> Blueberry Cowpie --> Chicken Blasters --> Egg of Mystery --> Wrath of the ChickenCow --> Dance of protection --> Summon Archimoodes--> Ascendant Strike --> Keep going on until boss is defeated

Disclaimer: In DragonFable, each monster and boss is unique. These are regular strategies that will work against most enemies but, of course, I cannot guarantee they will always work. As an example, against monsters with 100 Immobility resist, using Keelia's Ultra Fried Cows is, obviously, absolutely useless. Ascendant Chickencow may also not be the optimal class against some bosses and quests. For specific questions about strategy, there's always the Dragonfable Strategy Board.
