I think BH has always been on the dowside of boss completions...Energy regen is Meh, so are Mercenaries.

Yes, TLM and TM have it way too easy in long boss battles because they can heal forever with battery

As long as he doesn't get too many crits on you then yes you are right it is easy. I just beat him and it took me 200 turns to do so with the poison bot but those crits weren't making it any easier for me.

Longer doesn't necessarily mean harder, just more boring, atleast in my opinion...
