Sorry about the staff, Caststarter!

Also the tail, though in my defense the bio only says "monkey," so I assumed he was modeled on the classic monkey, prehensile tail an all. Apologies again!

So I now posted for everyone's desire. Sorry about that... kind of... bad at pacing.

Also, notice how practically everyone is congregating at the inner east side of the arena. Where everyone is in fact in the east.

@TormentedDragon: What is Yeni's route approximately to the lightning spire?

@Ronin Of Dreams: What is the lowest point of the ozone layer?

So, uh, yeah. That (this) post got in the wrong thread.

@Dwelling: She's not actually heading to the lightning spire. The zone of electric death is a place she would very much like to avoid. Suffice to say she started at the North East entry, spied the moving monkey, and is/was taking a course to meet him in a south-easterly sort of area.

Then she spotted approaching angel shadow and boosted herself up to meet it.

Edit:

@Draysin: While I understand why you interpreted the hammer attack the way you did, I must point out that the final line of my post was creative flavor as opposed to exact reporting. I apologise for not being as clear as I should have been.

The effects of the Wave Hammer are not to actually create a massive wave. There is water that streams from it when activated, but it is only the force of the wave that it projects, not the full wave itself. There is no crash of water. There is simply the effect of a wave's force, concentrated on the head of the war hammer. If there is actual impact, there will be a spray of salt water, but it is more along the lines of someone splashing you with handfuls of water than a wave.

No. Just...no. We have a problem, here.

What we have, here, is a failure to communicate.

Draysin! Your attention please.

The latest post from you has, ultimately, three separate instances of miscues that culminate in effective bunnying. That goes against rule #4 of the Role Playing Boards as a whole. The least significant of the three has already been addressed by TD in the post above this, and is nominally insignificant on its own because it was overall a theatrical/cinematic bunny of description with TD's admission of, perhaps, leaving it a bit too open-ended.

The second count is much more impactful, and is with regards to your treatment of Hideyoshi. You took a noted intent, and declared its flavor and mannerism...while also completely changing the relative positions of Yeni and Hideyoshi to do so. This is a confusing error of positions, but it is also rather simply an instance of bunnying. One which could have been entirely avoided with a simple PM to Caststarter or an open question here in the OOC to get the confirm the relevant details. "If I did this, would you dodge as intended? May I ask the details how, so I can include them in my post?" The essence, if you will, of collaboration.

The third count also has a great deal of impact for the environment. The spire does not crumble, the environmental hazard is not compromised, because the material does not work that way. I am, partially, at fault I suppose for not noticing how you snuck in the additional detail of hedron creation from any material when you resubmitted the biography for Ywris. That is my fault, yes. However, I already provided you information enough to suggest that you could not alter the lightning spire. Further, I alluded to other details of its true nature that are very keenly relevant here, if only you had asked to see if your new idea was feasible. The metal of the spire does indeed reflect a kind of biology itself, including that of regrowing any damage done to it and an auto-immune response that normally would only really matter if a golem were made out of it. Over time, such as the entirety of the Paragon Phase, it would begin to resist being turned into hedrons at all, but it would still regrow any converted tidbits. Usurpation of an arena's hazard source is, itself, a form of bunnying especially since I am right here to be asked for details and go-ahead at any time. Not only that, but I already told you once that you wouldn't be able to affect the spire.

Since I have your attention, other issues have also arisen which present problems. Your treatment of the hedrons has drifted from what I understood to be a singular entity and has moved thoroughly into Swarm territory. The EC specific rule 5 is now also applying to this decision. Which in some ways eases the burden of Directorship but that doesn't make me feel any better about it. Ultimately, these factors are cumulative, and in combination with the slipshod treatment of details and mix of in-character time disruptions to date...I am sorry to say but you are being disqualified at this time. You bit off more than you could chew, as the saying goes, with what appeared to be a very interesting and unique character. I look forward to having you back next year, in the hopes that a bit of refinement will bring the potential seen at the bio stage into a fuller light of presentation and post strength.

On a much more pleasant note, questions to be answered! Dwelling! Fountain Arena is an open-air arena, the 'ceiling' upon which the spire is anchored to is, constructively, the sum total of magical protections for spectators. It does not halt the flow of air or its circulation (though it has triggers in the case of airborne dangers like poisonous fumes and such). The ozone created by the strikes would not collect into a layer within the arena. The scent is strong because it has permeated the air thoroughly after repeated strikes, but it rises clear via natural circulation over time rather than building up.

Welp, bye. I wish you all luck, especially, my personal freind Salene, and Dragonnightwolf, my fellow ic competitor. I completely understand the reason for my dismissal, Ronin, and apologize profusly to those I have harmed. I will be watching, and sending my good wishes to you all. I look foward to next year, with hope that I will be a more developed RPer by then. And thanks for the wonderful send off. That was amazing. Goodbye, and good luck.

Edit: Read your post in detail Ronin. As thus I wont PM you about Ywris' transformation.

Ah, well, always disappointing to see an entry end in disqualification. Best of luck to you Draysin, and thank you for the entertaining fight! I wish you the best of luck next year!

On an official note, I had hoped to post today, however life and health have decided otherwise, I intend to post tomorrow evening, if all goes well! Though it looks like I'll have to pick a new fight now

@Dwelling, are you headed towards myself with that charge?

@draketh99: No, Keihäs is not. That'd be a reckless thing of her to do.

You started at the northern entry of the arena if I read Ronin of Dreams' post about where we start correctly. Keihäs entered from the southern entrance, so in order to use her limited flight she'd have to go straight through the lightning in order to get to you in one "jump".

She is currently heading to the entrance where Ywris entered the arena. She will likely not get any closer to Hell's Fang unless the temperatures drop. Why did I mention him? I'd assume that if you saw it starting to snow you'd be worrying if it'd be getting colder, especially in an arena where the conditions are as fickle as the ones in Bren and your character looks like the only source of heat.

Got it, I was a little confused in your last paragraph, as I had moved a bit northwest since entering (if the northwest entrance was the empty spot) so I just wanted to be sure, thanks for the response!

Okay guys, I'm back! Expect a post within the hour!

CLARIFICATION: I'm attempting to assist Yeni. Whether she realizes that or not, only time will tell...

Post done... now, me and TD did something that was like a collab but what we did was give two different perspectives of the same amount of time. So with that, let us see how this goes and how I might learn that I bitten more than I can chew...

Aye, collab confirmed. We went for a concurrent post style, as Caststarter said.

@Salene: We'll see what happens. For now, she's made the floor slippery for the both of you.

One thing to note, though, is that in your post you had both Yeni and the monkey already fighting. This was the general intention as they approached each other, so the issue is minor - but it IS worth noting that at the time of your post, they'd yet to actually start the fight. Assuming they'd have already started by the time you charge is technically form of bunnying. Minor, but present. We chose to ignore it, in favor of what we would have been doing anyway, so it's only sort of inaccurate. But do be wary of making these assumptions in the future. It can lock out things and cause problems.

@Caststarter: In post #21 you mention shepherding your opponents west, but in your last post you mention going east. So in which direction are you moving (them)?

@TormentedDragon: From what I understand the arena is an inverted pyramid of granite steps, so would the water you splash at your opponents' feet trickle down and make its way to the point where the lightning strikes?

@Dwelling: doubtful. The steps are rather wide, and the water splashed is not large in volume.

Whoops. Umm, definitely west. Silly to fight in a place where most are in the east at the moment.

Ahem. I am unhappy.

Salene! Your last post was on 8/21/2015 at 20:22:07 server time. This meant your deadline for posting was yesterday night, let alone the significantly extra leeway given until this morning at 9:00 server time. You have been disqualified by Rule #3: Idle Out.

Draketh99! Your last post was similarly on 8/21/2015 at 21:31:37 server time. This meant your deadline for posting, and subsequent extension allowance, were similar in circumstances to salene's. You have also been disqualified by Rule #3: Idle Out.

Both the characters Ravinia and Lance are now up for the slaughter, as per the idle kill scenario allowances. You may now resume your regularly scheduled in-character bloodsport.

@Ronin, I am afraid I will have to defend Salene in this instance. We have both gone back to school recently and most likely, She forgot about the deadline. I understand disqualification, but does it have to end in slaughter?

I really have no excuse, I got my days miscounted and had planned to post today instead of yesterday, though even if I had realized my erro, irl took prescience. I humbly accept my DQ, and wish you all a wonderful rest of the championship

Hello there Draysin. Rule #3 is very, very clear on the circumstances regarding idling out. I am very open to being lenient with any form of advance warning regarding real life circumstances. Further, I effectively gave all three candidates nearly 12 additional hours before enforcing the disqualification - an additional 11% in terms of amount of time to make the post. This is a very well-known circumstance for breaking the covenant of the competition. I appreciate your thought on the matter, but all disqualifications render the character forfeit, and idling out is the one case in which the fellow competitors - who have been inconvenienced in their own posting by the delay - are given the privilege of removal. An further opportunity to impress, as well.

Timing either makes things inconvenient for players with school, or with work, or with juggling vacations for that matter. There is no pleasing everyone involved, and while I can be infinitely lenient with some form of advance warning, I am merciless in its absence.

I am going to make a request that everyone curb their bloodlust until Salene see's this.
@Salene, If you plead, there is away for Ravinia to make it out of here alive.

You know, there's apps that help you keep track of things. Google Calendar, free alarm clocks, reminder notepads, etc. All it takes is a touch of extra work to set yourself a reminder - before the idle cut occurs, of course. I'd recommend two, even: one 48 hours, one at 72. More as you need them.

For finals, of course, you'll want to move everything up.

But yes, when things are hard to keep track of, use tools to make it easier.

@Caststarter, I leave Ravinia's fate to you, as you're up to post before me, and she attacked Hideyoshi, not me.

And down to Hideyoshi and Yeni... western origins versus eastern origins, yes?

Also, Ravenia only survived since Hideyoshi did make a vow not to kill. If he did not... WELLLLLLL... I leave that up to your imaginations. Also, for reference, how large is Yeni's shield TD? In terms of coverage? Like does it cover the chest and ankles or not? Just wondering.
