Each book represents how many Empowerment left to use.
Most Empowerment skills last for 5 uses of Attack or until the effect expires naturally, whichever occurs first; pop-up headlines when the Empowerment effects expire:

Archivist originally started with 6 class skills and gained 3 new skills as the 10th Anniversary quest chain progressed, amounting to 9 skills; after the conclusion of the 10th Anniversary quest chain, this class was updated again with 3 additional skills, amounting to 12 skills.- Ultimate Orb Creation was added on March 4th, 2016.
- Kathool's Madness was added on May 13th, 2016.
- Pirates vs Ninjas was added on July 29th, 2016.
- Caitiff's Knowledge, The Stalemate, and Paper Scatter were added on May 27th, 2022; class was updated to its latest version alongside with its Reforged version on the same date.
Original Archivist's gear on the male version is attuned to player's equipped weapon's element.This class cannot use on-attack weapon specials.
