Post your feedback and thoughts on Dungeon Punks here! Please remember that the developers are working hard to bring you the best game possible and want your feedback to help make the game as good as it can be. The =AE= Comprehensive Forum Rules apply. If you are going to post in a negative light, please use constructive criticism.

quote:

Constructive Criticism

  • What is it?
Constructive criticism is being able to process and offer your own thoughts and opinions in order to give courteous and friendly feedback. This is done by explaining what you like and dislike, while at the same time providing feedback that is useful. This is what separates constructive feedback from ranting/complaining and flaming.

  • Does it help? How?
Yes! Constructive criticism helps because not only are you giving feedback about what you don't like about a quest/event, but you're also giving feedback about what you DID like in the quest. Feedback could include on such topics as statistics, more dialogue, more explanatory cutscenes, more fights - everything that quests or events would normally include. This gives the game staff a better idea on future improvements.

  • Example of Constructive Criticism:
"I didn't particularly like this war because it felt too empty. To have made it better, I think the staff could have had a 50% cutscene to unlock rather than just a shop to progress the storyline. As it was, I personally was a little disappointed that this war felt more rushed than previous wars, however I do understand that the staff had a lot on their plate when making this release.
That said, I greatly enjoyed the boss fight, the animations and art fit perfectly with the song that was playing in the background. So while not one of the best wars DF have done, I still enjoyed it. Thank you, DF staff!"

  • Example of Unconstructive Criticism:
"I didn't like this war at all. What were the staff thinking? The items in the shop were ugly, overpriced and were bugged!! No cutscene? That was never done before and it is not how it should be done ever. Seriously, doesn't the staff ever listen to us?! The boss fight was too hard and took forever to beat :( And there was no sound. I dont think the staff even care anymore. Best war ever /sarcasm I hate this game D:<!"

Although I have yet to buy the game, I intend to on September 1st next month as a late B-Day present for myself! The Humble Bundle specifically! I saw the video AD. Not bad... I may just watch somebody play it! Plus free armor with purchase?! NICE! Way to go on being the publisher AE! You've got some great friends! Sorry if this is poor feedback, (No such thing... LOL!) I just thought I'd express how awesome it is AE helped out their friends like that! You guys are the best!

Playing it so far and I notice a couple of baffling design choices for PS4. For example:

Why is left stick movement not standard? I mean it's a PC game first and formost but still.

Tutorial is poor and needs more work. I have no idea what I'm doing half the time.

Akills in the levels and the like might need to be a bit bigger (or I'm blind lol)

having the attack button marked on X feels weird.

Letf stick movement in menus needs to be tightened up so when I press down I don't also go left or right to the next char.

Also, how do we know this will be read? DX

so can i use this extra aq3d steam key i got don't need for it?
otherwise i don't think i'm getting it anytime soon.
also, dose it count towards unlocking steams leveling system?

Left stick movement is available as a menu option if you prefer it in the PS4 version. A patch is coming soon for the PS4 which I think has some improvements for playing with the analog stick, and fixes some other reported issues.

Because the spells are each mapped to direction+magicbutton, its easier to perform these actions with the D-Pad.

We personally prefer playing the game with D-Pad, though we know a lot of console players like using the analog stick. However, many fighting-game gamers prefer the D-Pad for precise control, so there's a lot of debate about this.

In the PC version of the game (published by Artix), you can re-map the controls with the settings menu to your liking.

Because forum and office staff work together on such projects as these. More answers to some questions (if they can be answered by AE) will be coming.

I'm not sure how your question about AQ3D steam keys relates to Dungeon Punks -- the two games keys cant be exchanged for each other.

As far as I understand Steam's leveling system, buying games (including ours) should increase your XP, among other actions. However, I really am not sure whether buying it via Humble Bundle affects that or not. This was the best link I could find on the subject:

    https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4395-TUZC-9912#increase

Dungeon Punks also features Steam trading cards. which I believe drop based on playtime and can help you achieve XP gains if you complete a set and craft a badge. More info here:

Okay, I was in AQWorlds, saw a new character in Battleon, clicked on the link to get Dungeon Punks, and it took me to a splash page picturing a wide variety of male fantasy characters, and one woman with huge bazoongas and her shirt open all down the front, looking rather embarrassed to be there.

Constructive criticism: Is it really necessary to make it so totally clear females are not included in your target audience? I can only assume that the content of the game would be even more offensive. No sale.

You know this wasn't criticism, you just asked something rhetorical and explained why you didn't buy the game. Good just don't buy it, and move ahead if its not your taste

It's not about the game, it's about the poor marketing. I don't actually know anything about the game, because the way it was presented made me lose interest immediately. Artix is losing sales because of it. I may be the only one who posted about it, but I am sure i am not the only person who did not look any further past that ad.

I'm sorry you fail to see the relevance of pointing out bad marketing.

While this isn't well messaged well on dungeonpunks.artix.com, just FYI, one of the game's main characters (though not combat-playable) is a female pirate named Firelle.

You can watch this video trailer here if you want to learn more about her:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MKWvISTDkI

Tempest Knight and Hierophant are also both female combat playable characters.

The content of the game is not offensive in the way you might be thinking, but I can understand how that landing page might have made you think that since it features one of the most scantily clad NPCs.

Thanks for the feedback -- you posting about your reaction to the landing page is definitely appreciated.

I have played and beat the game so far, and having a new game + is nice. though the sad thing about the game is that the shop on the ship AFTER you beat the game and go into new game plus only stops at level 26 weapons and sheilds. It would be better if the staff could if they can in there free time (though i know they are always doing a great job btw love your games ^,m,^) is add some more weapons and sheilds that go past level 26 please, since after that you have to hope on getting drops, wich can be scarce as it is (mabye a 4% increase in weapon and sheild based loot drops?).

This way if we get the gold we can actualy keep improving our characters while at the same time farming for rare or ultimate gear to drop to further increase our party's hitting and stoping power aka attack and defenses and if it can be possile, add mabye a 4th teir strong pasive unique to each character that can only be unlocked from getting new game plus mode please and thank you. But ONLY on new game plus mode... any other newly made files wont get it untill those files too get new game plus mode on them. hopefully these ideas arent too bad, if they are sorry everyone, if they arent then thank you all to those who have read this.

    Battle On!

and for those playing dungeon punks like me

Always stay close to an exit room when you have lots of soul embers... trust me... lost 30k dying wich was 99% of the souls i collected in new game + mode.

ohh wow i wonder if the other threads get just as much attention lol ........ just kidding i know they have busy timeframes they have to complete for other projects

    Double post merged. ~Peachii

    Hi Jesse,

Good to hear you are enjoying Dungeon Punks. I like your idea -- and have to agree it'd be nice if the windship shop offered SOMETHING in NG+ at level >26.

We had the windship shop offering higher level equipment in NewGame+ so the game would become even more challenging -- but I agree it might be fun to add a small handful of rare and expensive equipments, just not too many to keep the challenge level high.

As it stands, you have to find equipment in combat to make it through NewGame+

But also note you can still spend your gold to upgrade found equipments in the combat shop @ The Floating Isles. So you can upgrade equipment but in a different way.
