I personally think the best thing about these weapons and other old weapons and armors were that they were actually somewhat realistic and proportionate. Simple and sleek designs. The newer weapons are often huge or elaborate with bad color schemes and the armors are incredibly disproportionate, especially on females. Not to mention the laziness in designing class specific things and energy/physical version of items. I remember the first frost lineup of weapons were more or less all unique. A lot of the class specific weapon independent of each other (not all like they could be made into a mutating weapon) and the physical and energy versions not just off-colored re-skins. Physical weapons with blue as the dominant color and energy weapons with red as the dominant color actually existed back then! (I loved the idea of staves being all energy; it was so unique and added a nice layer of strategy, especially with bludgeon.) Armors actually had SIX versions for each class and gender that were unique and well proportioned like the Desert set at Big Tuna. Classic armor is so much more appealing than the remake, especially the female versions but also the males. To end this post I'll say that this has been a very badly organized stream of thoughts that has turned into a weird rant, but whatever.
