i just started playing yesterday doing the burning invasion defender medal event cuz my friend said thatz worth doing.

i just started doing research on the game and learned its all cosmetic stuff. which is fine. im guardian lvl17 might as well finish it and look good

but to actually build up my character do u vets have any pointers? what i have so far is i can change classes whenever i feel like. and guardians using health potions can solo lots of content. the kind of info im looking for

1) breakdown of the skills for each class. i see icons but no explanation of what they do. im the kind of player that likes to know dps, cast time, enemy resistances? anything else ive missed

2) is guardian best class for soloing?
3) is rogue or mage the dps class?
4) is there a crowd control class?
5) what role does warrior fill?
6) i found the walkthrough on this forum that will get me started but what else would u guys recommend i do?
7) i read about some awesome staff and some hammer u can craft. what gear info would u guys be willing to share with me?

thanks for any help u guys provide

1. It's 5am here in our place and I haven't sleep yet so I can't give a comprehensive breakdown for you.
2. In my opinion, I think it is since it's the only class with a self heal.
3. Rogue for melee DPS and mage for range DPS. Although, Rogue focuses on stacking poison and then assassinating for huge damage while Mage is burst DPS.
4. No there's not. Although, each class has a skill that causes debuffs.
5. AoE Farming class or Tanks for non-guardians probably.
6. I haven't read that yet so I can't give answers.
7. Can you give the name of the hammer at least? There's also a wikidot page for AQ3D which is quite comprehensive.

1) What the skills do is self explanatory, the basic info is written there. Although the percentages and numbers/timers would be nice to know.

2) Guardian seems to be good at soloing, specially VS monsters that are more defensive than offensive. The healing skill is your advantage.
Also, this class is the best as tanking. One of it's skills attracts the attention of the target towards you, while also debuffing its attack/defense so you can last longer. The healing skill is proportionate from your damage dealt, so the defense reduction will also help you heal better.
I prefer going guardian with high attack, so that not only you kill faster, your heal becomes much bigger. And even without combo stacks, dragon's breath deals loads of damage!
Mage is also perfect for soloing, with it's ability to avoid damage from a distance. many monsters are soloable by running in circles while spamming auto-attack, too. But overall, mage is good versus monsters that have lower HP and bigger attack, as they will not damage you much anyways.
Mage also has a shield, so you can be pretty sturdy! Mages are not a glass cannon at all. But even better, mages can cast this shield skill on a guardian, making it the ultimate tank!

3) Rogue is VERY good versus long boss battles. Stacking the poison and keeping it up at max all the time is very mana efficient. Alternatively, explode the poison stacks if the battle is short.
Rogue also has a skill to reduce enemy defense, benefiting every player and increasing overall DPS. Rogues are best at building up combos, so for weak monsters, they are a bit useless.
Mage is, though, the best dps class in general. It can kill things quickly and from a distance, saving you lots of time. The damage output is very good, plus this class even has an AoE skill (even if its cooldown is on the big side).
Mages make the most use of their auto-attack, since other classes need to spam skills all the time. Between fireballs, keep auto-attacking and Fireball again when the burn effect is near wearing off. This works best with attack-focused gear.

4) Crowd control? Mage and warrior both have a slowing skill. But mage is more useful, since you can slow from a distance with lightning. Other than this, there isn't much crowd control yet other than slowing and running around.

5 Warrior is a powerful dps. While not the best, warriors shine in AoE battles. Versus multiple enemies they are the best! Their AoE has a very short cooldown, a huge range, and the lower your hp, the bigger the damage!
If you are at your lowest health, you become the TOP damage dealer, at the cost of easily attracting the attention of the monsters to you, of course. Watch out so you don't die.
This makes warriors very good offensive-oriented tanks. They can grab the monsters around them, suffer some damage, and beat them with superior damage. Warriors also have an attack-reducing debuff, so it helps surviving a bit.

6) I always look for stuff in AQ3D wiki, it's a useful place to get to know where stuff drops, etc.

7) Furnace gear is pretty balanced. The gloves, specially, give you 10% hit, which I find very useful. it is effectively 10% on top of your attack, and allows you to not break your combos by missing attacks.
For weapon, yes. You can choose between the staff, craftable from an NPC in the slabs zone. But it is super grindy. Alternatively, You can try your luck in magma mines dungeon in hopes that the final boss drops the hammer.
I also use a cape from Senna at Dragonslayer's camp, but feel free to use the furnace back item or even the "Scale Slayer Companion".
Since I like attack gear, I have the rest of my gear from the Shadowed set.
As for the helmet, the best in game is still the Necrohen one (for attack gear at least). It is rare to get, though.

making my way thru the wiki

1) mages can only use staffs right? i found daggers(rogue?) hammers(guardian?) swords(warrior?)




when u say the staff is grindy. or the necrohen helmet is rare. what does that translate to in this game.

ive played games where its 10hrs for the rarest items. to 6 mos for the best gear. any estimates are appreciated so i can adjust my expectations

1.) Crimson Staff of the Abyss: least possible grinding/farming time for me (with the assumption of a full party & with breaks): 18 hours. Estimated gold cost is 140k+ (what's the full price again?)
2.) Necrohen Hat: At least it would take 100+ dungeon keys to get this helm.

I don't know if there would be specific restrictions on weapon usage for classes. Pretty much you can use every weapon in the game.

If I describe each classes: *Warning: description is kinda disturbing*
spoiler:

Warrior: Class role could be describe as a masochist berserker with the goal of spinning to win. Best used in farming multiple low-leveled enemies. If used as a single-target class, it becomes a huge masochist in giving love when trading damage. *Annoying when leechers doesn't deal damage when farming.*
Mage: Class motto is: "I can solo kill bosses" and could be annoying when: they leech your kills(if you die), run like dricken if they triggered aggro and forgets to shield the main DPS tank. Good for leeching monsters if distance is far from you.
Rogue: The loner class of the game. Rogues in AQ3D doesn't rely on agi/dex build but armor and health to survive(meta rules the game currently). Rogue's sub job is to support behind the scenes by kicking lowering the defenses of enemies.
Guardian: Ultimate masochist class of the game since it loves to get hit. No further words to describe the class because its play style serves as a "healing" for masochism and gives birth to a burning and passionate love of dragons to the enemies.

whats best exp and gold/hr grinding spots?

About gold and exp farming, it is recommended to go into dungeons that is available in your current level and quests.
*i.e. If you're in /Doomwood, do dungeon quests in /Doomwood only so that you can gain more decent exp.*
I do not recommend doing(turn-in) the quests of /ShatterSkull Bridge in the early levels since it's too difficult to farm when you reach level 12^
