Finally got to fish and, gotta say, pretty fun! I see a lot of potential, especially if half the things the staff mentioned in Twitter will come to pass. As many people have stated, the rarities of each fish seem to be reversed. I think you guys may want to check your RNG. It makes the gold rewards better, but only a true try-hard can get all those quests turned in. Some suggestions for the future: farming different monsters from different areas for bait to get different fish. Maybe Klawg and shark meat are common ones, Mega Don and Klawgmurai give rarer bait, and random monsters from around the world (lycans, burning undead) drop bait for one or a few related fish ( wolf fish, sunfin). Another idea is to make some 'rods' for specific purposes. I know you were talking about the pirate being unable to fish, a simple and quick solution would be to add spearguns (maybe to the Pirate class shop though. You need fishing rank and pirate tokens for them). Another fun idea would be to make rare poles drop from quests, each able to bring in a certain class of fish. I really want to see a ships mooring hook or an anchor used to catch whales or leviathans! Sounds like a fun way to fish out a pet, once they're released. One final suggestion, though it would be far later in the game, would be to add an aquarium as a house item when houses are a thing. You could store whatever fish you catch in it like a bank, but they show up in the glass animated. Having the bosses you suggested be fishable also drop eggs so you can have a baby boss monster in your tank sounds fun.
