If you have a character who is level 1 or 2 and you change class to Blood Mage, you cannot battle because the stat requirement for level 1 Fireball -- a basic Blood mage skill -- is 24 dexterity. However, a Blood Mage starts with 19 base dexterity, which obviously does not meet the stat requirement.
A friend tried this out in-game: Using a level 1 character, he used Varium to change to Blood Mage. He was not prompted to change his stats and skills upon changing class, so he tried to enter a 1v1. As soon as he tried, he was immediately disconnected. When he logged back in, he was prompted to review his stats and skills before battle. However, he was unable to save his stats and skills since he did not meet the stat requirement for Fireball.
Note that you also would not be able to save your stats and skills as a level 2 Blood Mage; since you only receive 4 extra stat points for leveling up, which is not enough to reach 24 dexterity.
