So with the last few releases we've seen an interesting new type of Misc, which enhances the damage of a certain elemental damage, though as far as I know they don't affect pets/guests. They're offering some interesting synergies to experiment with, but they also have to compete with defensive Misc for limited slots. What are the thoughts on this new trend? What play styles will want to consider one over the other? Should I have done what my mother wanted and join Nel's school and not get punched in the face for fun and profit?

 These types of miscs have existed for a long time. The earliest was elemental orbs, that gives you damage against the opposite element. More modern items (i.e. alternate elemental versions of the frostval and frostgale miscs) include:

  • Destruction Diamond - Fire/Darkness
  • Cozy Fire Orb - Fire
  • Greater Waree Orb - Water
  • Waffle Cone - Ice
  • Paladin's Oath - Light
  • Light Prism - Light
  • Blood Contract: All with no SP cost, in exchange for a weakee booster/no extra effect and increased damage taken.

    I THINK there might be an energy one, but I don't rememebr.

    All of them are very strong items.

    		 I believe Grakma Warhorn gives greater damage boosts for builds that have enough accuracy and don't care about the damage taken increase. But non - meta FO builds - might use these miscs

    		 For Energy there was the Thunderbird Joust Headpiece misc, the new Frostgale misc boosts Ice/Wind outgoing damage on toggle.
    And the Frostval giftboxen Hyperalphean misc boosted Water damage,the outgoing damage has to follow the 4/3 more for magic and /2 for spells rule.
