Hey, I was looking to return as a mage build, like pure mage with strong damage output
I know my character is a mess right now, and was looking for some help

Welcome back!

As you probably know, the current meta focuses on stun-locking the monster, then nuking it with powerful elecomp'd skills. This page expands a bit more on the variety of strats and gear you can use to enhance your playstyle.

For FO mage builds, Vampire is a much better subrace than neko. It gives you an Int drive, an Evolved Form that deals high damage with some lifesteal, and most importantly a qc stun, making it by far the best subrace for the current meta.

Weapons

Energy would probably be a better no-drop element, as all the best energy weapons are currently rare. When Voltaic Bloodzerker blade comes out, switch to wind.

Your Bloodzerker sword is pretty much indisputed as the best fire weapon for FO builds, as it pays a small hp cost to deal +20% damage.

For water, you can use either the Quenching Bloodzerker sword for a damage bonus or the revamped Kindred sword for a chargable autohit.

Kazemai Athame gives a little extra accuracy to your Warmaster's Burst.

Cryomancer's Bloodblade is functionally a copy of the Bloodzerker blades.

Earth has a Bloodzerker sword.

There's a Lumenomancer Bloodblade in Rare GGBs, but it might also be a good idea to check out Occult Morningstar Cross. While not an exceptional weapon by itself, it can be clicked on for a 2x damage skill - which has great synergy with Bloodzerker armor toggles.

Voidsplinter Tether or Sunderer give you a source of harm damage.

Armors

The skills with the strongest elecomp are those that still use old standards - White Knight, Horo Show and Taladosian.

Next up on the power ladder are the Bloodzerkers, especially when combined with Morningstar Cross. They would cover your fire, water and earth elements.

Your no-drop Vampire Transformation is darkness element with a good enough wind secondary that you don't need another wind armor.

The last slot should probably be left for Whispering Raiment to maximize your chances of going first.

Shields

Cerberus Ward compresses fire/darkto fit in CIT.

Get a more level appropriate Celtic Wheel shield and keep Vata for that Dex drive.

Pies' Cha drive helps you Mesmerize the monster.

Golem Guard has a toggle to reduce the damage you take.

If you find yourself with a spare UR, get Golden Dragon Head shield for a boost to your LS rate. Otherwise, Scarab Shell has a toggle to lower monster MRM, which would increase the accuracy of all your attacks.

Spells

Your strongest nukes are compressed in your armors, with the sole exception of Wind and Dark, which can be covered with D-Burst and Warmaster's Burst (or just weapon attacks in Vamp Evolved Form).

If you don't have a UR for Voidsplinter weapons, use Archmage Research or Runic Binding for Harm.

Knife to Meat You is a qc earth damage spell. Something like Sizzler Splosion for high MRM mobs may also be worth a slot.

Poelala, of course, remains by far the best guest for pure mages.

Keep Moonwalker's Grace and move Arcane Amp to active slots for use during the Purple Rain loop.

If you have some tokens stored, Imbues are certainly worth a look, They change the element of your next weapon attack or skill (not spell!) to a different element and often come withother nifty benefits. For example, you can use Fire Dragon Talon on Horo Show nuke to deal fire element with +50% damage bonus, Dragonslayer Aura to deal Void damage against dragons (great synergy with Dracomorgify), or use Terror Fist with WKZ to get a powerful darkness nuke with some CC utility.

Pets

Not much reason to use anything except Poelala, though the Kindred pet can have some utility if you use the Kindred sword, gathering enough charges to autohit every turn even at 0 Cha.

Miscs

You're pretty well-off here. Essence Orb and Pixel Ether for resources, SFP for qc celerity and Taladosian Pendant for Mesmerize infliction.

Murderator Gauntlet gives more Int than the Amulet, as well as a little Cha (since Poes now have a use for it) and a chance to control the monster.

Goggernaut Helm gives +10 bth to every attack on the field, without the usual /2 for spells.

Make sure to grab Love Potion]Love Potion[/link] when it comes back on Snugglefest. It has qc control, and that control stacks with both Mesmerize and itself.

Bell Shell heals a bit of your hp based on damage dealt. The heal is less than CoRS', but it also doesn't reduce your damage, so it's an overall better choice for FO builds.

Hope the info's useful and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!
