With the preview image given for this Black Friday's token package sets, I found myself really admiring the artwork and aesthetic — by all means, the Doomlight armors look fantastic and I can't wait to see how they will come together aesthetically. It certainly helps that they'll be backlash-themed, which fills a niche that a lot of players have been asking for.

At the same time though, there is a part of me that's sort of dreading one thing in particular that's become common with Token package sets — having the helmet be a player face rather than a part of the armor.

In previous token sets like Tera'Suul, the helmet was considered part of the armor's look, and you could click the helmet to remove it and show your player-character's default face instead. To me, this is a vastly preferable approach to having the helmet be a face that can only be accessed through Warlic's mirror, since typically these player faces are designed to fit the aesthetic appearance of the token package and nothing else. This means that, if you have a token package face and you equip another armor (which you will very likely be doing a lot), you'll have a face that clashes with the rest of your character's appearance.

As someone who is highly interested in AQ's aesthetics and generally holds the artwork and animations in very high regard, I feel like this is an issue worth bringing up, as this player face approach has been happening for a while now and feel it's not the right direction to take. I have no problem with player faces being included as part of package sets, but I would much prefer an approach where the "standard" helmet is part of the armor and the optional faces are un-helmeted player faces that fit the armor's aesthetic but are not intricately armored enough to clash with other armors (e.g. a face with a hairstyle or circlet that matches the armor's colors). I am hoping that this is how the Doomlight package approach handles it, but I would like to speak my mind regardless.
