After cutting my teeth on a lot of the new content and getting a bit lucky with the Frostval gold gifts, I've managed to reach 1.2 Billion gold on my main character! Only thing is, I can't seem to keep any additional gold I earn on top of that, it just disappears after a moment.

Is there a hard cap on the amount of gold a single character can hold? And if there is, how have people managed to donate some staggering sums like 10 billion+ gold to the elves? Is there some alternate gold storage method that I'm unaware of?

1.2 billion is a soft cap - you can overcap on gold (from donations or selling stuff), but it resets back to 1.2 billion after the first fight you win.

The most common gold storage method is to buy a bunch of War (or subrace) armors and store them in your Shared Vault. For example, 120+ vaulted War armors gave me my spot in top 25 donators.

That's... pretty roundabout. I guess the werepyre armours are pretty expensive though, so I could use that method...
