Thanks Cray and the rest of the staff for the future forewarning. I think the current sentiments are more of FOMO than of any true anger since the pets are unique but not particularly better than others.

We've had two Mario items, two Zelda items, and two Metroid items. Does anyone have any speculations/hopes for the misc and armor? I think Pokemon and Kirby are the most iconic other Nintendo franchises, but we've had enough Pokemon items in the past that I really think it'll be Kirby. A Kirby armor would probably be impossible to truly implement since Copy has too many variations, but a Meta Knight or even King Dedede armor would make my day.

I always wanted to ride a yoshi! Pretty sure the misc has to be Mario's hat right?

again, WOW, the misc item is great! The armor, I think I'll pass on it but it has some nice effects, and I'm sure it will find place in some players builds.
Overall a great set, thank you guys for this year's giftboxes!

The misc is quite unbelievable, the ability I mean.

I think Hybrids would get the most out of it than others.

And the armor, is probably one of the best Frostval armors made.

You don't have to be in the armor for the buffs to stay. Amazing.

Overall this year Frostval set is really great. There is something for everyone. All of the items are useful in some way.

The misc is insane. Being able to get int/dex/cha/str to 250 for 177sp is a game changer. What a great Frostval!

@Cray: Thank you for considering adding the elements last minute! We do appreciate it and we hope that we will have the option of a similar pet down the road to fill in that gap just because it is a unique pet on its own (well aside from the Mana and Health leeches).

@Dark Foot: At least these are different elements! I may be wrong but the Health/Mana Leeches are nice but they don't have the option of healing HP/MP/SP in one pet so this one is a bit better for the versatlity.

Also, I have yet to use the items but that spell, misc, and armor are all pretty nifty!

What is GBI?

And I agree that the misc is very good. Since it boosts all outgoing damage by 20% (halved for spells so 10%) does it replace the blood contract (which also gives 10% boost to spells)? or is this an additive boost versus multiplicative boost thing.

Game Balance Issue
Blood Contract is multiplicative, so it remains the most powerful option. However, the ability to freely increase a stat to 250 with the +20% damage increase may make Quadforce better for certain builds.

I feel like you need miscs like these once in a while to change the game. Otherwise, people will stop playing.

Edit: This misc might be better than blood contract because we can boost CHA to 250--improving our booster pets.

Scathing Dreamweaver and the shield is lacking infosubs to my knowledge. It cost SP (believe standard) for 0.65 fire damage reduction and either HP heal of MP heal (HP was around 135~ per turn for 3 turns.

Hey there! After getting the armour taken care of, I've done some tweaks and bugfixes to the other giftbox items. Full list of changes is below!

Master's Blade: The full HP boost now caps out at +15% Melee, but still scales down to where you lose half the boost at 75% HP, and the boost fully vanishes once you're <= 50% HP. The Blind mode also now pays 15% Melee by default, and gains up to another 15% Melee from the full HP boost. This effectively means that by default the Blind is x1.5 potency so -(12.6 x MobLightRes x Hits / Attempts) BtH for 2 turns, and then you get another up to -(12.6 x stuff) from the full HP boost, so at 75% HP you'd attempt a -(18.9 x stuff) BtH Blind.

Lorian Shield: Similar to the Master's Blade, the shield now caps out at effects = to 15% Melee at full HP. So at full HP you'll get +9 MRM in block mode, or take -(15/1.4)% damage in damage reduction mode. These still scale down as before, so you'll go down to 7.5% Melee for the effect at 75% HP (so +4.5 MRM, for example), and the effect vanishes fully at <= 50% HP.

Spacefarer's Frost Cannon: The Freeze mode on the weapon now pays an additional 15% Melee (so the weapon pays 25% Melee out of damage, and then 5% Melee via MC) to double the chance of attempting the Freeze, so it's now (38.6 x Hits / 2)% chance to attempt Freeze.

Cometoid/Meteoid Jelly: Fixed the bug where I forgot to factor out mob elemental resistance on the healing received. AKA before if you were to use the Cometoid Jelly to attack a foe with 125% Ice resist and get your HP healed, you'd just directly get x4 the damage the pet dealt as healing. Now it'll do a quick /1.25 on the healing value before it's applied, so the pet acts as though it's targeting 100% resistance.

Flame Flora: If used in the Zardshi Rider armour, the weapon will do x1.25 damage in wand mode and trade its 100-proc no true special damage bonus for the damage bonus non 100-proc weapons without a special get, as well as do +5% damage, in spell mode you will instead deal a simple +2.5% damage.

Invincible Star: This skill now has a cooldown between uses instead of being once/turn. You have to wait 1/2/3 turns before using the skill again after using the Lesser/Greater/Super Star versions of the skill. So for example:

Turn X: Cast Lesser Star > Do attack.
Turn X+1: Can't cast Invincible Star, do attack.
Turn X+2: Can now cast Invincible Star again.

Turn X: Cast Greater Star > Do attack.
Turn X+1: Can't cast Invincible Star, do attack.
Turn X+2: Can't cast Invincible Star, do attack.
Turn X+3: Can now cast Invincible Star again.

Turn X: Cast Super Star > Do attack.
Turn X+1: Can't cast Invincible Star, do attack.
Turn X+2: Can't cast Invincible Star, do attack.
Turn X+3: Can't cast Invincible Star, do attack.
Turn X+4: Can now cast Invincible Star again.

i'm not sure if this is a bug, but when i use the misc to boost intellect why does my MP does not change? also, when i boost any stat i do not see the changes in my attributes section

You don't get the MP from using the Misc. It behaves like the stat boosting spells and doesn't change the display or give the MP.

These are not bugs.
1) The only time you see stats added to your character preview screen is when they are added via things like miscs, or stat drives (CIT, Celtic Wheel, Subrace toggles). Things like QuadForce or Arcane Amplification will not show in your stats directly.
2) INT received via a status-type effect (or something similar) like Arcane Amplification or, in this case, QuadForce, doesn't increase MP.

Okay, that makes the pet a lot better. Thanks Kamui. There's three items now that are in my main inv from giftboxes. I don't think that's ever happened to me before.

Very pleased with the pet, HP, MP and SP heals in one cute little squishy package! Plus a bit of damage for good measure.

Edit: Haven't got my pets confused have I? That is the one from the presents?

Yep, the Metroid pet came from the giftboxes. Please resist the urge to hug the cute squish, things never go well when touching a metroid...

Can we please be able to change the giftbox weapons to Melee/Ranged/Magic through the item upgrader? I didn't have extra inv slots so I only bought 1 box

I bought the magic weapon and armor, but so far only the spell, pet and shield have appeared in my inventory. Possible bug?
