INTRODUCTION Like the title says, this is a thread for discussing new, non custom package items for the $200 USD package tier and to bring attention to the issue. Currently, the $200 USD/150,000 token package tier is by far the most efficient way to purchase Z-Tokens in AdventureQuest. It is 1.5 times more USD to token efficient than the next most efficient tier, the $100 USD/50,000 token tier. If a player wants to buy a lot of tokens quickly, such as for a token donation drive, then the 150,000 token tier is easily the best way to do it. THE PROBLEM Unlike the 50,000 token tier or indeed any other token package tier, the 150,000 tier has exactly one promotional package: the custom face package. This has created an unfortunate situation where the staff is constantly burdened with custom face commissions that take away from time they could be spending improving the game for everybody. Additionally, this makes a lot of big token buyers not want to request a custom face at all out of fear of burdening the staff's valuable time. I myself have bought nine custom face packages and sat on them for months, even years, before using them; three I never redeemed for a unique face at all. Also, custom faces become much less valuable the more you buy; after the first six a buyer has run out of character slots for their account to put custom faces on and have to either start a new account, put multiple custom faces on a character, or just never redeem them. THE SOLUTION I think a lot of players would appreciate having non custom face promotional items for the 150,000 token package. Purchasers would like a reward they can buy without worrying about burdening the staff and would have an incentive to buy more than six packages for other than just the tokens themselves. Furthermore, every player will benefit from less staff time being spent on individual commissions. Staff would also benefit from having more 150,000 tier packages. Every new package reward they make at that tier means many custom face commissions they do not have to make. New package rewards would also encourage more purchases from players as well, especially collectors. There is a valid argument that players should get something special for spending $200 USD and few rewards can beat having a custom face. First, I think there are plenty of special rewards staff can make that doesn't require the constant burden of making new faces. Second, players should still be able to request a custom face at that tier; they would just have other options that do not burden the staff. Third, after a player has a custom face on each of their characters, more custom faces become much less valuable, and additional choices would give players willing to buy multiple $200 package valuable alternatives. CONCLUSION AND MY SUGGESTIONS Ultimately, it does not matter what exactly the new 150,000 tier rewards look like, as long as they are not "custom item" packages that would just take up even more of the staff's time. I think any form of new package reward for the 150,000 token tier would be appreciated. Staff could also implement new packages slowly, one at a time, like the other tiers - this would avoid overburdening staff too much at the beginning I invite anyone who is interested to offer feedback both on whether this is a good idea and on what "good" 150,000 tier rewards might look like. Additionally, I do not think allowing players to "buy rares" would be a good suggestion either; I would prefer not to implement AQW's IADOA system or something similar in AQ. Below are some ideas I have had for new 150,000 token rewards. Please feel free to add your own or discuss them! -A series of new "legendary" weapon/armor/shield sets with a cool full set bonus like the 50,000 tier Champion packages -NPC Armors: Armors that transform the player into a copy of famous NPCs while equipped like Artix, Galanoth, Warlic, etc. -Any new items/spells/skills that change the background for the rest of the fight -Bonus Golden Gift Boxes for the purchasing character (e.g. 100 free boxes) -Permanent versions of classic temporary weapons like Tarnished Caliburn or Dragonblade. This would only give purchasers a time advantage of skipping questing for these items every login, much like the recent update to estate stat retraining; eveybody else will still be able to use the temp versions for wars or quests just as well. -Allowing purchasers to unlock any two lower tier packages per 150,000 package purchase.
