Book 3: Reimagined: A Hero of the People

Hey there, heroes!

This month's Reimagined release has arrived!

Starting things off, we have the latest Reimagined quest! The quest "B.F.C." has been replaced with "A Hero of the People".

Last time, you returned to Falconreach, and spoke to Ash about the Vind's supply and refugee problems. He promised to look into what we he could, and implored you and yoru dragon to take a break.

Is rest finally in sight? Or is a hero's job never over?

This quest can be accessed from Kara's past quests in Sulen'Eska. The quest's rewards have been updated to level 90 as well.

The next reforged Time armor is here!

Reforged TimeKiller is now available!

Reforged ChronoZ is coming soon, as well. If you already own the originals, you will have the Reforged versions added to your inventory for free. Otherwise, you'll need to purchase them from Stryche's Time shop.

And of course, balance adjustments and bugfixes!

  • Phase
    • Cooldown decreased from 9 to 7.
  • Blink
    • Cooldown decreased from 34 to 16.
  • Kick
    • Cooldown increased from 4 to 9.
    • Effect changed to +50 Health for 5 turns, from -100 Flee for 20 turns.
    • MP cost increased to 20
  • Cripple combo finisher duration increased to 6 turns, from 2.
  • Dimensional Stab cooldown is now a proper cooldown.
  • A widget has been added to track your last two combo parts

  • Power Shots
    • Cooldown decreased from 2 to 0.
    • Damage decreased from 2.75x base to 2.5x base.
    • Consecutive uses without using other skills in between will increase damage by .25x base per use.
  • Rain
    • Damage increased from 1.4x base to 1.6x base.
  • Thief of Time
    • Cooldown decreased from 39 to 12.
    • Automatically crits.
    • Applies a .2x base damage DoT for 5 turns.
  • 3:10
    • Duration of +crit effect increased from 4 to 5 turns.
  • Break
    • Cooldown decreased from 7 to 5.
    • Effect increased to -30 Boost.
  • Shield
    • Effect increased to 180 defenses, up from 90.
  • Lightning Flash
    • Effect increased to -70 Bonus, up from -50.
    • Duration reduced to 2 turns, from 4.
  • Accel
    • Now provides +180 Avd for 1 turn, in addition to its healing.
    • Cooldown increased from 9 to 10.
  • Boost
    • Now provides an additional +60 Bonus on top of its existing Boost and MP regen.
  • Fixed a few weird effect descriptions and cleaned up skill names.
  • Elemental appearances have returned, although there is some flickering of effects that we have not been able to solve.

  • Fixed a few keybind issues.
  • Swab CC customization has been added to Pirate.
  • Pirate's Matey and Navigator customization is now color custom.
  • In certain quests where keybinds are disabled, they are now re-enabled in battle.
  • The Reckoning has been added to Uaanta's Maleurous board.
  • The Scythe of the Soul's Song now has an on Attack special.
    • 20% chance to deal 3 hits of 70% base damage, and apply -10 Boost for 4 turns.
  • The way the game loads files has been reworked. It now loads them one at a time rather than all at once. This may result in slightly longer load times after cache clears, but also should eliminate any crashing during character loads.
  • (other stuff that i've forgotten)

At last what I had hoped for came out, Timekiller. They still preferred the design of the original, but I also like this one, hopefully in the future it can be customized, (Although I doubt it.).

I've tried the Class a bit, but I don't know how good it is now with buffs, if anyone can tell me I would appreciate it quite a bit.

^ If you're referring to customizations making the reforged ones capable of accessing the classic's art, don't try hoping on that. You're better off imagining that they'll get a new set of customizations. Judging from the numbers data and comparing it to it previous info (which is still in the class' forum data):
1. Power shots' changes makes it the main damager when Arbalest charges are avail, although it will conflict with its stun (in casuals, at least. Stunning is not really much of a priority outside of CMalefic-esque powers in the Inn), Shield, Blind, and -Boost (the latter 2 btw had thr numbers adjusted such that you would use them near side by side. That is, to compensate when one finally expires). That means that Power Shots will have a maximum output of 300% dmg in causuals, 325% in the Inn if you decide to use 2-3 of your Arbalest shots for your defensives.
2. The reflector shield function barely matters in casuals now that it has reached the expected side of reliability for MPM barriers of story/DC/SO classes, unless of course the foe snipes or wreck shields or you deliberately equipped Uragiri.
3. I was mostly expecting that TK would receive extra turn access the same way its AQW counterpart finally managed to access temporal charge-ups, in this case in its 3:10 skill. Welp, TK in the DF-verse remains to be a black sheep in the chrono line because of that.
4. The sniping bonus and the one-turn MPM bonus on the MP and HP regen skills respectively are welcome additions.

Conclusion: TK is modernized to such that it still retains the flavor of the power evolution of chronos and stabilizing its defensive capacities. Sorry CC and CM, looks like you got the short end of the stick among your kin. Even CZ got some adjustments before its reforged counterpart is available. With these adjustments making it clear, Archi might have more "*chuckles* I'm in danger" alerts building up. To make it clear, yes, I'm one of those peeps that do realize the reality that if Archi does become re-available, rebalancings on it would happen on it in any shape or form instead of keeping it as is (no, I don't count the reason "But it's not strong against all Inn battles" as valid to try and defend it from adjustments. That'd be like "plz nerf DmK too OP huhu.").

Finally, Scythe of the Soul's Song got a special (although I do prefer on-hits over on-attacks for the sake of skill rotation consistencies). Mostly a filler for -Boost skills. I'll leave the AARGH changes up for the imagination.

Personaly I feel like Archivist could keep the left side of skills intact, and gained a full set of Right-side skills that don't add to your Auto and don't carry over cooldown, so you have something to just use every battle when you have too many monsters between you and the intended bossfight.

But alas, not my job, and the class isn't BAD per se. As for Timekiller, WOOWEE those were some SWEET buffs! I already loved how the class felt straightforward and fun to use, but these buffs really brought it up to the game! And I absolutely adore the display of Arbalesque charges, the way it spins like a drum when you get is just adorable! Definitely using Timekiller more often now!

It's nice to see some kind of conflict going on in our hero's mind this early. It was pretty jarring to see that they really didn't showcase any second thought about what the Rose was doing. And it was nice to see Ro-Vi-... Cin again! She was pretty much sidelined after that Sandsea conflict.

And the rumors of Beastmaster are already coming to our hero's ear. I like that there is some kind of buildup to him.

And oh that Timekiller. That amazing-looking class. 7 years it took but I finally have it.

Yes, I was referring to new customization pieces, I know you can't expect classic design, I hope there will at least be new pieces in the future.

If I remember correctly, these Book 3 main story reimagined quests are set to end in Swordhaven before the Tournament of Champions. Our little run-in with the Beastmaster would be one of the final quests getting redone for this project so I'm quite pleased we're starting to get some good juicy buildup on him.

So it seems the Beastmaster is what'll bring us to Swordhaven this time around. I thought he was quite an interesting character when we met him in 'Unbound' so I look forward to seeing how that will be redone and exactly what his role is within the Rose.

And the Vind getting some aid from individuals in Swordhaven is a good thing, although I presume that's where Lysander comes into the equation too. Bleugh! It is good for the sake of consistency of the story, I suppose.
