Are there systems in place to prevent accounts from getting picked as a winner for these more than once? Given how there's so very few of them being awarded overall having someone be able to be picked multiple times would be highly unfair.

 Was the ice Bard of War supposed to return to ggb as well? I’d love to spend an UR on it but it’s not in the shop lol

 @Dreiko: I was about to say - the fact that there are going to be so few winners means there's going to be a great anxiety over not winning - I myself didn't retroactively win one, and I'd be damned if I ended up number #1 in the gold contest and some top 50 ranking in the token contest, if I didn't also concurrently get the Frostval Crown either. There's also extra pressure to hog spots because it's two items in 1, meaning that players will want to double up their winnings. I seem to remember last year about how players were angry about not being told about the Jelly pets from last year's giftboxes in advance being two items, and those who didn't grab 6 copies at the time were left out while the people who did buy multiples had the luxary of being able to use BOTH pets simulataneously.

There ought to be a better way to go about this - The misc should've been the minimum participation item, and the raffle should have been a chance to be included in the top 50 winnings. Or at least increase the winner amount to 50-100 per contest category per day.

Could care less about winning on total donations, just want to be lucky for the misc. If this is server cap clones, staff.... THANK YOU!!!!! Either way..

 Some info on the misc, now that it's finally released:

A Favour Repaid:

Misc Item. You get -Water Resist, -50% at level 150. You also get +STR/DEX/INT, +50 each at level 150.

When you equip the misc, you have two options: You can pay upkeep in either 130 INT (~33% Melee in MP) or 97 SP (~25% Melee in SP).

IMR said that according to Kam, yes, they're exact copies.


But in the process I also made note that as they stand they're completely ridiculous since they only affect the base 10% LS rate and don't touch hypercritical, which is a bit of a problem since it means you can literally just get free double LS damage with no actual downside. So IMR has made a note of that and a "fix" will be deployed at a later date since it requires engine changes.

I wonder if that's going to affect other +LS% items since it'll involved an engine change, making them more consistent but less broken. If that is so that would potentially make a lot of items at a later point really good, including:

Evolved Void of Nulgath (The one I look forward to getting buffed the most since there's a lack of offensive dark armors that aren't unobtainable/outdated)
Shamrock Shuriken/Naginata/Sensu (Fills Earth/Wind/Light niches)
Zealot's Wrath? (Makes Spear form worth using)
Snow Angel (If you have it, for the same reason as above)
Atrea Dream Glaive/Dagger (Makes these worth getting over right now which only rod is favored)
Concentrated Clover Essence (More consistency, viable alternative to other +Damage miscs)
Golden Dragon Head Shield? (Don't know how this works actually, but I assume it'll benefit somehow)
Other things I can't think of right now

But I hope it's true. It would open up a lot of item choices that previously weren't considered anything other than niche.



Thoughts on the misc:

I guess it's good if you need a source of +MP. It boosts every mainstat so it's good for every build, and because it boosts your max MP before you select upkeep if you have 0 INT you'll actually be able to use the MP upkeep option for a few turns. The fact it also boosts DEX + other mainstats makes it work slightly better for damage boosting stuff, but this interaction will be lost once the stat overhaul is done sometime next year.

I might be wrong, but my guess is hypercritical and changed lucky strike rates are completely different things, since hypercrit is more of a status, whereas items with built in changes to lucky strike rate and damage are simply changes in that weapon.

If that's true, you won't be able to use arms of dragonguard or shieldcake hypercrits and this misc as a stack, but zealots wrath like weapons and Angel of Souls armor and Atrea weapons, etc and probably even the golden dragon head shield which increases rate by 33.33* Blocks/attempts%. So you'd get 43% rate.

I imagine those types of things may stack.

^That's why engine changes are needed, so these miscs do affect hypercritical. This will happen eventually.

Also IMR confirmed through hollow that if a character has won a crown then they can't win another, this works the same as the back to school giveaway. So someone with multiple characters can win multiple crowns but the same characters won't be able to win more than one.

I do love how the Chosen is characterized here. It's subtle, but you can really tell that they are by this point extremely fed up with having to deal with B-list villains every winter.

Hm.

Thinking....Thinking..

So we have Lust/Envy, that increase fire/Earth attacks Lucky strike rate by 40%. We also have Golden Head Dragon Shield, that can increase lucky strike rate by up to 33%.

So combined, we can get Earth/Fire to 83% (With the natural 10%) Now I'm wondering if there are any Fire or Earth Weapons that either have increased lucky strike rate or damage.

I know there is Patriot Katana, which is melee, and Im not a warrior. And we have zealots (light), atrea (darkness), and now I guess I need to do some research and hopefully find some fire/earth ...Maybe element locked stuff using weapons come into play, such as zerker stuff....hrm......Like Atrea + Lust/Envy + this new misc + zerker ? Hrm,...

 Masamune is a water weapon that has a toggle for 15Bth and 40% LS rate,

Try this with Imbue spell + BloodZerker/weapon-based skill, which works pretty gd imo

I finally got the time to play through the quest, so here are my thoughts:

I absolutely loved the lore given. Forest growing and dreaming, and smiling things that emerge from those dreams; names taken and people left forgotten. It feels like something straight out of a horror story.

The way it was given is a little bland, but otherwise, it's exceptional foreshadowing that really makes me look forward to the rest of the questline.

^^ For all builds, double Rhubzards is one of the most underrated things in AQ. Even pure builds it's able to steal and give you Luck with fierce regularity. I would even consider it being labeled as something non beast builds can use. While the damage it does is certainly lower, the luck steal isn't, and the win rate is very very high for the status inflict. On a celerity turn, you're more than doubling your luck (+337, but likely caps you at 500) and your lucky strikes get stupid

^It is nice to see that there are others who use double Rhubzard!

Being able to steal luck make dodging so much better. It is also devastating for enemies who have no DEX.

Yeah, when I run my Sol Neko lucky beastmage setup, if you can get hypercrit and a good water resist, especially with some water ele vuln, the Rhubzard pet with Cataclysm is well over 1k per hit.

The rhubzards, like I said before, is crazy underrated.
